Kalye Hits is one of the rare Filipino restaurants that opens late and serves tasty Filipino food. We got the sizzling pork sisig and bistek(beef and onions) both on cast iron plates and we enjoyed it especially with the egg! This place has so much more to offer than just being a restaurant, they have bar and a stage for live entertainment or karaōke. Each day has a theme of the day. It’s perfect for large groups, I’m sure they can easily seat 100 people. Parking was fairly easy, they have a rear parking lot with the entrance on Mariposa, valet parking or street parking. Wish I found this place sooner, I’d definitely come back to try their other dishes and do some karaōke!

We had my son’s confirmation reception here. My family and guests, total of 25(mix of many different ethnicities) enjoyed the pancit bihon, chicken adobo(our favorite), tucino, chop suey, dinakdakan(my dad’s favorite), inasal chicken, egg drop tofu(mom, Tita and Abuela enjoyed) and everyone liked the melon juice very, very much. We were so stuffed we had no room for Halo-halo, but we’ll be back. Jackie and the other female server(forgot her name) were very accommodating and super super sweet. We did karaōke and had the best lunch. Today was a special day for our family, thank you Kayle Hits for adding the cherry on top!

I gave this place three stars based on three reasons –Atmosphere –Service –Food Now, the atmosphere or interior is alright, but feels a bit hollow since there isnt alot of people and the place seems just a tad outdated Moving towards service, I was introduced to a nice waitress, but the service itself is slow as it took around 10 mins to have the appetizer and our entrée So now comes the food. the food for me was a hit or miss as the Sisig was great and the lumpia was ok, but the Halo Halo was almost like shaved ice with some ube. I also had some problems with the quantity as while the sisig was great it was too expensive for me Overall, the place is an alright place to eat. If the restaurant can improve their prices and with faster service they will be great. Would recommend the Sisig if you go even with the price

Bad customer service. We’ve been waiting for almost 20 minutes without being entertained. We rang the bell but nobody came to help us. The waiter’s just passing by us so we ended up leaving.

We ordered the«platter» that had the isaw and chicken feet and i almost threw up in my mouth. For 32 bucks i could have bought a blue ray dvd and popcorn. If you are not filipino, this place doesnt represent filipino food, it represents filipee pee food. Kalye Shits ayyyy.

Best sisig and Pork adobo so far! My family can attest that I’m a big time Isaw aficionado and this Isaw can beat any Isaw in any local Filipino restaurant, crispy and simply delicious.

I live in DC and this will definitely be a place we will visit each time we come visit my family. The adobo is AMAZING — both pork and chicken. Also the steamed vegetables and grilled okra were very good, even without salt. The lumpia shanghai is a must order. I ate the whole order at $ 5 and would do it again! I would highly recommend coming here over Max’s any day.

This place is horrible! The food is bland and they serve old meats. Spend your money & appetite elsewhere. Chef sucks!

Service is very slow… bangsilog is good except they serve the fried rice 10 minutes after my son already started eating luckily our sisig and bistek comes with rice. sisig was also good… we ordered appetizer lumpia shanghai it’s okay but we ended up taking it to go not sure if they forgot to serve it to us. halo halo was good too… the sago gulaman needs more syrup not sweet at all… the waiter was really nice felt kinda bad for him coz he seems like he is one man army there were actually two more guys that came out when we wet about to leave… definitely have room for improvement after all they just opened… They also have San Miguel and Redhorse Beer at this location

Came here Saturday morning for the BREAKFASTBUFFET, our first time and of course because it’s a new Location and we want to try it out. We expect to have a better selection of food. Unfortunately we had that looks like left overs. I really don’t think the price is RIGHT.

I live within walking distance from this place and it’s worth the price. Obviously, if you want better quality food, try throwing down a few more bucks and you’ll get it. However, this place is definitely worth $ 10 for their AYCE. All the Filipino food seemed authentic enough and there were at least 10 – 12 choices of food to choose from. Also, did I forget to mention that it also comes with drinks?!? Yeah. $ 10 includes drinks too. Most of them were usually on the sweeter side, like melon juice, a boba flavored juice. I would definitely come here if you’re just looking for something to fill up your stomach. If you’re looking for something that’s better tasting then definitely try another restaurant. Also parkings bad, so you definitely try going around and looking for parking.

Food was good. Had Lechon dinaguan, balut, and rice. First time having dinaguan sauce. Almost like mole w chocolate but it has blood as a main ingredient. The balut was 18 weeks. The only problem was there was no Tabasco for it. I prefer it with some Tabasco and lemon.

Coming from northern California, i’m really craving for these exotic Filipino foods. So when i drove down to LA kalye hits is the place to be! When we got inside the restaurant there was no one there. Yes no one is there-even the front person and servers were not around. I had to ring the bell and yell«Hello. Anyone there!» And yea one server came out and took our orders. Considering that we(me and my boyfriend) were the only one in the restaurant, it took about 20mins for the food to come to the table. I just told myself that I have to wait for good food! To my surprise the food is not what I expected. I ordered fried lumpia, fishball, pork sisig and pork isaw. Wow. The lumpia and fishball looks very dark with black spots and there are still lots of oil all over. I’m not in a low cholesterol diet but this is really too much oil! It looks like they reused the oil a lot of times even if it is already dark. We had to use tissue to drain the excess fats so we can eat it. The pork isaw, i can say it’s okay in terms of marinade(i say 3 stars) but the sauce is bland and when it was served to us, its a little cold. It did not compliment the bbq. And lastly, pork sisig is more like onion sisig! I know that sisig needs to have lots of onion but this one is 10%pork and 90% onions. I’m not closing my doors, i would still visit this place and hoping to see improvements especially in terms of frying the foods.

Excellent! Friendliest service. Really delish home cooked family style dishes. Filipino owned, authentic, sharable good portion plates. Chicken and pork adobe is tender, juicy, hearty with great rich seasoning. Perfectly cooked fluffy white rice!!! Fresh okra appetizer special was super tasty. Finished off with fantastic halo halo shaved ice dessert. The restaraunt is spacious, cute ambiance, great place for large parties. They play indigo girl and cat stevens covers on a tele in the back… its kitsch in all the right ways. They welcome open mic any night too. There is parking in the back on Mariposa if you don’t want to deal with street parking. I’ll be back to try other dishes and the buffet. Highly recommended!

Just came here yesterday on a whim and had the sizzling pork sisig, pork isaw, beef isaw, kwek-kwek, betamax, fishballs, and mais con yelo! The service was I just came back from a Philippines trip and the sisig holds up to what I had there. In fact, it might have been even better because it was hearty with a ton of zest and a little bite. Loved it. I also just love the presentation of sizzling sisig because when it’s served to you crackling and smoking, it’s irresistible. Pork isaw is like your typical barbequed large intestine, a bit crispy on the outside and juicy and fatty on the inside. This one is sooooo good with the sweet brown sauce they serve. Beef isaw is like small intestine and looks a bit like(as the guy serving me yesterday put it) zigzags, but has a similar crispy on the outside, soft and full of flavor on the inside mouthfeel. I enjoyed the kwek-kwek(fried battered quail eggs) but I wish it was more like lava on the inside when I got it! It was perfect eating temperature but I wanted to suffer a bit more like when you get it at a street stand. The fishballs were chewy and flavorful too! The betamax(grilled pork blood) had a nice smoked flavor to it and had a similar texture to tofu. It’s nice. The mais con yelo(shaved ice and sweet corn) was super refreshing and a nice end to the meal. Protip: really mix this as thoroughly as possible. I made the mistake of not doing so and when I got to the bottom, it was too sugary! Will come back soon! The people there were really nice too :)

Very friendly place with good food. The food was fresh and I was surprised about how nice the restaurant is inside. From the outside, I was expecting a very low end restaurant with plastic chairs, etc but was surprised when I actually got inside the restaurant and found very nice furniture and décor. The food was fresh and the service was very good. I really don’t have anything bad to say about it. I was very surprised at how nice it is and how good the food was. Very solid place to eat.

LOVE this place for a number of reasons: 1. It’s walking distance from my house 2. It’s the FIRST Filipino restaurant that makes chicken Adobo as good as my uncle’s 3. The staff are super friendly, feels like I’m with family 4. They have an all you can eat buffet for $ 10 I had the chicken Abodo with white rice and a fried egg, the spice and flavor is delectable, chicken is so soft and falls off the bone, I mean what else can you ask for? Im very critical of how restaurants make Adobo because this dish is symbolic of childhood dinners with my Filipino side, so this 5 star review is well deserved. If you’ve never tried Filipino food before, STARTHERE! And start with the chicken Adobo. Looking forward to trying more options!

Came here on a Friday night at 7pm. There was no one dining at the restaurant and the service was extremely slow. They play the music obnoxiously loud too. I came in with my family and we ordered sigsig, beef mami, bisteck, lumpia shanghai, and fresh lumpia. The sigsig was good, but we were disappointed by the slow service and the fact that we had to waive the server down more than 10 times. He hardly checked up on us and mind you, we were the only ones at the restaurant. Beef mami was okay, pretty subpar. Bisteck wasn’t tender and the fresh lumpia was missing an important ingredient, bean sprouts. I don’t think I’m ever coming back here. I heard great things about the Cahuenga location, but it was just an awful experience. There are so many other Filipino restaurants. Everyone, skip the hipster ambiance and go somewhere else.

Food is awesome! Sisig is crispy and served with egg. There’s plenty of seats and friendly service. You can call ahead or order thru eat24. The only downside is the limited Parking on the back and you have to walk around the corner to get to the front door, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying out this new spot!

Ordered food from here through Eat LA today. The sisig just hits the right spot. I must say that this has been the best sisig I have come to taste here in California by far. It really is close to home. I have tried the other branch, but this one in particular has a much nicer feel inside. I will definitely come back and bring family and friends.

I came here on one of their soft openings. I heard from a friend that there’s a new location aside from their other location near Hollywood. They have parking at the back that was clearly labeled and there was a guy that can assist for the parking spot. They have limited parking so I got lucky. I went via the back door and I found the place with a few customers already. To order you fill out the paper near the high table with your selection. I ordered the bistek and crispy dinuguan but they were out of the dinuguan so they recommended the sisig. The beef was tender, I was looking for the lemon taste of the base soy sauce. There’s also an egg served with the bistek. I tried the sisig and it was crispy. It was ok as well. I will come back to try their crispy diniguan to compare with Curbside Cravings.
