Kaiser Permanente

Nicely remodeled interior at this «small» building on the western edge of Kaiser Sunset’s massive campus. Easy to follow signage with a private parking deck that doesn’t validate for Kaiser patients… sort of puzzling. Had a surgery consult here that went incredibly well. Our surgeon was optimistic, calming, knowledgeable, and made special arrangements to see us. They went the extra mile here. Thank you.

The nurses here are very friendly. I came in here because of really bad food poisoning and they treated me in a timely manner. When I went there were a lot of people but the wait wasn’t bad at all.

My son was born early and had to stay in the NICU for several weeks. As the time came closer to discharge him, the doctor said we can take him home on the weekend. Received a call on Friday after lunch asking when we were going to pick up the baby. There was no 24 hour warning they were discharging my son. My husband was at work and I still could not drive since was still recovering from csection. Had his nurse, head nurse and social working all calling me and asking me why can’t I get my son. All I could ask was why didn’t you give us more advance notice that he would be discharged early?!? Doctors kept reassuring us that we can take him home when we were ready and we weren’t since my husband was at work and no one told us of his discharge. I really felt like they were kicking him out. Once we got him, they immediately cleaned out the room he was in cause apparently they wanted to start on some construction work in that area. They obviously cared more about that then us. Least to say, we changed our insurance to a PPO plan after that.

So I wanted to write this review just to simply recommend the Kaiser on Sunset as one the best and most helpful kaiser hospitals I have been too. I have gone to the Kaiser in Bellflower and the new offices in Downey and they are not as helpful as Kaiser Sunset. I would also like to recommend Dr. Richard Green and George in Oncology at 1515 Edgemont, 5^th floor. They made my mother’s transition from City of Hope to Kaiser painless and have always been available to answer any of my questions.

Cant’ get a same day appointment with your PCP, call for an appointment in the after hours clinic. The same great doctors that work in family practice and other departments. and when I mean after hours, it’s from 4pm to 10pm. After that your stuck with having to go to emergency…
