He is a great guy. When I’m in the mood for a big fat burger & fries I turn to him. His menu overflows with a very LA take on comfort food. Nice atmosphere also

I really wanted to like this place because I could tell, from the people working there, that it was a new establishment. FOOD I ordered a Philly cheesesteak on wheat with fries and my friend got a chicken caesar wrap with fries. Unlike the other reviewers, I liked the bread(but I do love bread!) but I thought the sandwich itself was subpar. It just tasted like any plain olé steak sandwich with cheese. I’ve had Philly cheesesteaks from Philly so I know how they’re supposed to taste. The seasoned fries were ok. My friend commented that they tasted like McDonald’s french fries. I didn’t agree but I also thought they were nothing to brag about either. My friend was unhappy with her wrap because the guy who took our order didn’t ask if she wanted to chicken grilled or fried. They just assumed that she wanted it fried and stuck it in there. PRICE As I recall, both of our meals were about $ 10 a plate. Since I can get a better Philly cheesesteak for $ 5 at Philly’s Best, I don’t think the quality of food was worthy of those prices. It’s not that the food was particularly bad, it just wasn’t good. ENVIRONMENT/SERVICE The restaurant had a really nice ambiance. I could see it as a nice grab a drink with friends but probably not eat, though. The service was definitely lacking. The servers were not at all attentive. I usually don’t have to ask for my water to be refilled because I wait so long before I ask. Since the waiters/owner(I didn’t even know who was who to be honest) were busy watching the game that was on, my friend and I were sitting for about 30 minutes after we finished our meal before we just went up to the cash register and asked to pay our bill. In my experience, new restaurants usually go out of their way to make a good first impression on customers. This was definitely not one of those restaurants.

My coworker’s husband is a friend of the owner and I was asked to try this place out. My coworker & I went on a Thursday for lunch and it was very slow. After being there for a few minutes, the lunch hour started to pick up. The place is in a little hidden spot but a cute location. As soon as you walk in you can’t miss the cake stand with big thick slices of red velvet cake. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad and liked it a lot. The chicken was not hard or dry but moist. Very tasty. I was surprised to have grilled onions & green peppers on top of the salad as well. What a cool idea and gave the salad a very inviting tast. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. I ate everything. My coworker ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and she was very happy with it. It came with a side of fris that were tasty as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a small, casual place to hang out and have some great food with friends or coworkers. I will be going back.

I work nearby and usually start my shift at 7. I used to be able to find it open by 6:30 to grab something on the go, but lately you’re lucky to find it open before 7. However, everything says they open at 6(even on here). Inconsistency will kill a business fast!

joe is very friendly. the restaurant was really clean and cute. spinach wrap with grilled chicken and veggies was pretty tasty. the philly cheese steak was good too.(the two items i’ve tried so far) joe’s has only been open for about six months, and i hope he stays around for a long while. i could definitely see myself coming back often. the prices here are very reasonable, and the portion sizes were pretty good. my only suggestion would be to put more meat in the philly cheese steak. the bun was disproportionately large for the amount of meat. the flavor of the meat was right on, though. right on. and cooked perfectly. for about five bucks, it’s a great value. almost unheard of for lunch downtown. charge an extra buck and add more meat! joe also has very white teeth. whitest teeth i’ve seen in a long time. can’t help but think someone who takes such good care of his teeth is meticulous in details others might overlook. =D

I love it here! They make me the sandwich the way I like it and used to get it in Brazil. The owner is cool. The food is good and very good prices. Hollar!

I love Joe’s! He’ll do anything you want — basically, create your own meal. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. Always some good tunes playing. And believe it or not, it’s Joe right there to help you. He told me today he’s applied for his beer and wine license, can’t wait to hang out with a beer and that Grand Quesadilla!!! This little area Joe’s Steakout is located is great too — you can do it all there… bank, food, dry cleaners, card shop, gallery, parking! One stop!
