Little neighborhood market for last minutes or early breakfast. Open early and close late, nice people running the market. It’s a tiny market so don’t expect Costco prices. Good selection of beer, wine, ice cream, snacks and…

The dude who works here during the day is a racist, rude, awful person. He sprays Lysol anytime a black person comes through the store. And most of the food and drinks are expired. Don’t give these people your money.

I’ve tried on numerous occasions to buy wine(red/white) from this market and EVERYSINGLETIME it turns out to be a dud. Doesn’t matter if it’s a $ 7 bottle or $ 20 bottle. Probably 30 bottles of wine later I’ve finally gotten the message that the person buying the wines doesn’t have a clue. Also, I’ve made the mistake of asking for wine recommendations from the sales clerks in the store. BIG mistake. Huge. They’ve got expensive bottled water covered. Munchies. A higher grade of snack foods then you would find at a gas station but the selection of wines is ghastly. If you want wine, go to URBANRADISH and browse their selections. I’ve met the buyers and the vendors and they’ve got their shelves lined with highly curated excellent wines from all of the globe. The descriptions of what to expect is helpful too.

over the years I have been a customer at Joe’s. More for convenience that anything else. I think thay are over-priced, but I was willing to support local businesses near my work. well today I went to grab a few things while one of the regular clerks worked there. he has seen me dosen of times as I shop there, but I always thought he had an attitude. well, at the register I decided I did not want few of the items after all. I told the clerk I can return them to the shelf myself, and again asked me «you dont want the items?». I again replied«no.» He angrily grabbed the items from the register counter and tossed them asside while shaking his head as if I was annoying him. It really ticked me off. After all the money I have spent at the store only to get attitude from this guy who knows I am a regular left a nasty taste in my mouth. I think I rather drive further and patron another shop. To the clerk I say if customers annoy you so easily, you are in the wrong business pal. on another occassion, I tried to grab a cereal box from the top of the freezers(they store them there), some cheap wine glasses fell on me and shattered. for some reason, they have stacked wine glasses on the ledge corner high up right next to cereal boxes. so at the register they charged me for the broken $ 2.00 glasses. no problem i paid, but not a word from the clerks«hey are you ok after glasses fell on top of you?». they seemed more worried about $ 4.00 of merchanizing than the safety of their customers. so, adiós Joe for being so neighborly!

Very good selection. I’ve found some very interesting drinks here! It’s definitely worth a look around. The guy running the place was nice too, very patient.

There’s such a lack of options for groceries and wine in this area of downtown LA. Having Joe’s Downtown Market on this side of downtown is great. They carry new and higher end items — and excellent water options! Yes — water. I like having a variety of fancy water options. Joe buys the latest snacks, drinks, and higher end foods. Love it.

So glad to have such a great little liquor beer oasis close by. Good beers, nice selection of random grocery needs, ready-to-eat food, snacks etc. We even stopped by here one night on a whim for butane for our kitchen torch to whip up some crème brûlée and what do you know, Joe’s had it! Yay! Really random! Who makes crème brûlée anyway??? More like a NYC corner bodega market than a convenience store. Although, convenient it certainly is!

Amazingly convenient and friendly. They have an incredible selection of beer and licquor, not to mention random necessities like light bulbs or paper towels. They lose only one star for being a tad pricey.

They were already closed and they let my friends and I in to use the ATM. How sweet! The store itself is adorable and the employees are super nice.

What a cute little store! Every time I see it, I silently rage with envy since my building has no equivalent. Great selection of snacks and drinks, healthy food, rare food, upscale food, etc. Pretty much all my favorite things in one little convenience store. It’s open late, too, which is always a plus for downtown.

Perfect for that last minute item, even if it is Gouda cheese, or Fresh Feta. Joes has a lot of what you need, when you need it. Open till midnight, they also have a pretty good(not cheap) selection of wines and beer to choose from as well.

Joe has saved and continues to save my procrastinating posterior by carrying items my hypercritical and highly allergic children actually eat(Amy’s soy cheese items, rudi’s organic bread and avocados). I think of it as Whole Foods baby brother with a mean selection of barley pop and other inebriants. Not your grandma’s convenient store.

For far too long getting your hands on groceries in Downtown LA has been akin to finding a needle in the proverbial haystack; that’s to say pretty darn tough. Sure, there’s the Mitsuwa Japanese Market, but with limited hours and emphasis on Japanese food, sometimes they just don’t have what you’re looking for. Enter Joe’s Downtown Market newly opened on the ground floor of the Toy Factory Lofts. This small, well-stocked market is less convenience store and more akin to a NYC bodega, offering a large selection of wine, cheese, produce, dairy and bakery delivered breads. While it’s not going to satisfy most of your shopping needs, with its easy access and parking, and late night hours(open till 11 pm Su-Th, Midnight Fr-Sat) it’s the perfect solution to filling in the gaps between your trips to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. PS: Feel free to hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee and complimentary WiFi internet access out front of Joe’s Market.
