So I’m not going to lie… the only reason I ate here was because two of my past interns swore that is was amazing. Maybe it’s because they are so young, their taste buds haven’t fully developed yet. Don’t get me wrong, the sandwiches were NOT bad. They were actually quite good, but they weren’t the crafted sandwiches that I was expecting. Coming here don’t expect seasoned aged meat that is delicately sliced to precision. Don’t expect artisan bread that is sprinkled with 3 – 4 cheeses and a dash of rosemary. What you should expect is the most basic sandwich that you create. Maybe that’s the problem, I was expecting an Ike’s or Jersey Mikes– when I probably shouldn’t have held it to any standard at all. Jimmy John’s prides itself on the rapid speed from order to mouth. And that is why it gets 3 stars versus the initial one I wanted to rate it. I was simply in awe of the speed and efficiency of their staff. I ordered and the counter and by the time I had my receipt in hand my sandwich was ready to be picked up on the opposite side. I had never received food that quickly. Numerous coworkers have ordered from Jimmy Johns delivery when they are swamped and their food always arrives within 7 – 10 minutes. Although it may not be the gourmet sandwich my stomach was hoping for– the pride in their motto and the care/respect for their customers time is what I really appreciate. Overall, Jimmy John’s is the BESTPLACETOGOFOR A REALLYREALLYQUICKFILLINGBITE.

Fresh Subs. I got a cold sub here. It was better than the average sub. But still, the flavors were decent as in combination with their sauce and variety of ingredients which didn’t say come back. However, this is a place I would comeback to when I am in the mood for a cold sub. Staff is nice which is a plus.

I rarely give a bad review. This place deserves it. I ordered the regular turkey sub. I was charged extra for cheese. They handed me the sub 2 minutes later, and asked if it was to go. I opened the sub, and noticed there was no cheese on it. The guy behind the counter(manager or supervisor) opened it and 3 people inspected it. Cheese was added. Hurray, said nobody. I also let them know it didn’t have mustard. A girl threw three 3 mustard packs on the counter. I asked for napkins, and was told to walk around the counter and reach down on their side to get a napkin. The sandwich was basically all bread and lettuce, with barely a serving of turkey. For nearly $ 8, you can get a much better sub @ Jersey Mikes, along with better service. #HardPass

Nasty. I will never eat here again. I would rather eat at some low quality fast food chain than eat here. What a waste of money. Horribke.

This location runs their store very poorly. We waited over an hour to get TWO simple sandwiches and after calling multiple times to check on the status of the delivery they were uninformative, had nothing to say, and hung up on us. After the long wait, upon calling to see if the delivery fee could be refunded or if there was any sort or compensation, the worker(who was not the manager) responded a harsh no and was completely inconsiderate of the wait time and ended the phone call. Awful staff.

Hands down my favorite pickle place! There use to be a place in Westwood called Socko’s on Braxton that closes permanently. This is a lot like them but better! Fresh bread, yum! Pick your innards… and nom nom nom.

Jimmy John’s is an awesome lunch and late night choice! It’s a sure bet when I didn’t pack lunch and am on an extreme time crunch at work. The sandwiches are prepared fresh and LIGHTNINGFAST. Mine is usually ready just seconds after paying for my order. I’m a plain jane and usually stick to the Turkey Tom with shredded lettuce and tomato, but the tuna is also good. Add sprouts for extra texture! The sandwiches are very conventional, not mind blowing or decadent, but they are safe and satisfying. The bread is always crisp and chewy, the deli meats are thinly sliced with good texture(ie not gelatinous) and the veggies are fresh. Servings sizes are large but not overwhelming and combos come with Jimmy chips(different flavors available) and a soda. Tip: This may sound odd, but I love their fountain drink machine because it has crushed ice. I’m obsessed!

Very good sandwiches and amazing amazing bread. The bake it fresh I guess and it’s always so amazingly soft and tasty. Not only that, you literally get your sandwich in 30 seconds regardless of how busy or slow they are. Just a pleasant place to visit with great food.

I go to the Jimmy John’s near Ktown, but also frequent the one back in the midwest when I visit. They make their sandwiches at this location a bit sloppy. And they also don’t give you the peppers on the side which is strange given that I get it on the side at every other location.

This location is possibly the most consistent out of all the JJ’s that I buy from. I always get the large veggie sandwich(#13). The salami and roast beef sandwiches are pretty good too. But my favorite thing about this chain is the SPROUTS! Alfalfa sprouts on everything please :) And the bread… the delicious bread. I know we should all stay away from carbs but the texture of the bread here is just too good to deprive yourselves. They sell their day old bread for only $ 1.

I got a blt today. I only ate half the sandwich. The mayo was thick and bacon was soggy. I was starving but as I started eating I didn’t like it. My stomach pains only grew worse. 3 ½ hours later I was throwing up. This was my only real meal for the day other than the two tangerines I ate and I highly doubt that is what gave me food poisoning. Sandwiches are overpriced and mediocre.

Jimmy johns, I used to think they were average but they have improved over the years! I would take this over subway any day! I had big John! I enjoyed the bread and how quickly it was made. If you want a fast casual sand which and only receive a thirty minute lunch break, the choice is obvious.

This place took over where Sandbag use to be. Thank god Sandbag got replaced by something better. JJ reminds me of another sandwich place in the village that went out of business called Socko’s. JJ’s bread isn’t as good as Socko’s but the overall sandwich is good. Don’t bother with the generic, bland sandwiches down the street at Subways. I’ve been here a couple of time and have always ordered the Italian. Can’t resist a good Italian.

I’m SO happy Jimmy Johns opened up in LA! I was born in Chicago so I can’t help but feel a sense of attachment to this place. I always always always get the #12 Beach Club. I loveeeeeee how Jimmy Johns’ sandwich bread is soooooooo soft but this time around I got the sandwich«un-wich» style. Usually whenever I order a burger or sandwich wrapped in lettuce, the lettuce is kind of watery and soggy so it just gets really messy when trying to eat, but the lettuce here was super crunchy and crispy and fresh that it wasn’t hard to eat the sandwich at all! I will say that Jimmy Johns tend to put a lot of mayo in so I always have to remember to ask for light mayo. There’s street parking in the area but Westwood is always kind of crazy so my husband drops me off, I order, they make the sandwiches crazy fast, then we take it home and eat it. If you don’t want to deal with parking at all, Jimmy Johns does delivery! I feel like you would pay the same amount to either have the food delivered to you or to pay for parking in the area. Oh! Another thing I love about Jimmy Johns is their radio commercials. I don’t know if they air them in LA but I heard plenty of them back when I used to live in Atlanta and all of them made me literally laugh out loud.

A fast and reasonably healthy option. I came in here and was the only one there for my entire stay. I am surprised to not have seen more customers, but it was layer in the day around 7ish. I ordered TWO sandwiches. The Italian one and a gigantic one. Both can be done«protein» style where they wrap it in lettuce instead of a bun. My first sandwich I had was pretty good. The usual kind of cold-cut slices of meat you’d expect in an «Italian» sub. Salami-this, cured meat that. Nothing amazing. The sauce was a bit much for me, but I think it’s intended to be spread on a roll not crammed in a lettuce wrap. The gigantic sub I got next was much the same but with more meat. It was being handed to me almost the second I was done paying, which was pretty impressive I’d never seen a sandwich come together that fast. This time I was careful to order it without sauce. It was good, heavy to hold but didn’t fill me up and make me feel bloated. It’s a little pricey for this sandwich at $ 10, but it is their«super big» and I think the priciest thing on the menu. So the place is priced in about the same range as jersey mikes. It’s a little bit more than subway, but only marginally. Quality is ok, but it’s nothing to go crazy for. I think the big gimmick here is the speed in which they fill your order. Going by food quality, I’d give the place a «meh» 3 stars, but I’m deducting one since I was able to verify that jimmy john the owner makes employees sign non-competition clauses for after they leave, and that he is a recreational big game hunger. I will not return to support that kind of behavior on his part, and because for the price I can get a better quality sandwich in Westwood.

They stay open really late. Their sandwich is actually pretty good for what it is. Very good as cheap, quick late night dinner. People working there are very friendly. I like ‘freebies’ options.

Sandwiches are quite average. Bread is soft, meat quality is decent… Main claim to fame here is that they’re stupid fast. By the time you’re done paying and have put your wallet away, your sandwich is almost ready. Inside has a few seating spots, but not too many. A table or two, I think, plus a few bar seats– clearly they’re designed for take out customers. Unfortunately aside from quickness, it’s hard to recommend. Unmemorable food in an area with lots of other competiton– even if that competition is mostly unremarkable itself– makes it tough.

Today was the first day I’ve ever had Jimmy Johns! My boyfriend made me go as soon as I found one had opened up in Westwood. I didn’t think it was going to be all that since they are so minimalistic when it came to toppings. Walked in today and ordered the veggie, with sprouts(sprouts are free of extra charge but must be asked for). I docked a star for not having as much selection as subway or Quiznos. I docked another half a star for not having a variety of sauces… I feel like a spicy mayo would be superb on these sandwiches. Should take a hint from which wich. JJs did earn half a star back with their bread tho! Yum yum! The staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely coming back and taking home where the hot sauce is!

So here’s the thing. Before coming here for lunch today I was going to give this place 4 stars. I was actually in the process of writing the review, stopped, went to lunch, had a bad experience, and am now giving it 2 stars(3 stars for the food). More on that below. These guys came to our business a few weeks ago to tell us that they’d recently opened and to give us samples of their stuff so that we can use them for catering, etc. Everyone loved the sandwiches and since then, I think I’ve been to this place about 10 times or so. I always get the same thing – #4 no mayo, add cheese & dijon mustard. Simple enough. I can’t say that these sandwiches are spectacular, I mean they’re your regular cold subs, but they are very tasty. Personally, I prefer them over subway. So far, they’ve only ‘messed’ up my order twice. Once when they forgot to put dijon on my sandwich(something I find inexcusable considering that at any given moment there are approximately 15 or so employees behind the counter) and today when they charged me twice for cheese($ 0.75). Up until today, I’ve always thought the employees were very friendly and polite, and coming here has always been a pleasant experience. However… Today I came in and got my usual and I noticed the boy behind the counter was new(there was a blonde girl helping him). I also noticed that the price was different and said something to him but I don’t think he understood me so I left it alone. When I got my receipt I noticed the extra charge, so I went over to the register and the same girl told me that she would void the whole thing out and that it would take a couple of days to see the credit. She asked if that was ok so I said«no, it’s fine» grabbed my receipt and left. I was in a hurry and I really didn’t want to go through the hassle. But here’s what really, and I mean REALLY bothered me – as I was walking out I heard one of the boys at the register say«WOW». Now, being the adult that I am, I wasn’t about to turn around and have a yelling match with him so I proceeded to walk out. I could honestly care less about the $ 0.75 but I do expect to be treated well when I am patronizing your establishment. I understand that you have a bunch of teenagers/young adults working there but that’s no excuse for childish, obnoxious, or inappropriate behavior. Clearly that kid wanted me to hear him, so guess what? I heard him. As it stands right now, I have no desire to go back there again. One other thing: please put toilet covers in your restroom. Here in California, it’s a must, no matter how clean you say your restrooms are. Thanks.

2014 Unilocal365CHALLENGE — 261⁄365 Finally a Jimmy John’s opened on the Westside! :) My boyfriend is a Jimmy John’s fanatic. It’s taken forever for them to migrate down to SoCal. This Westwood location is the third one to open in the Los Angeles area. There are also locations in Downtown LA and Pasadena. However, both of those locations were still far for me as a West LA resident. They opened this JJ’s location this month and we are excited! I wasn’t feeling too well and wanted to find a place to deliver food to me. I was curious to see if this JJ’s would deliver to my apartment in the Sawtelle area off the west side of Santa Monica Blvd, so I called them to find out. No luck =/Kinda bummed considering I only live 1.14 miles away, but oh well. I decided the distance wasn’t too far for me to drive, so I placed my order on the phone. The girl on the phone was good and helpful. I ordered the Turkey Tom with no tomatoes and added provolone cheese. Right after placing my order, I headed out since I knew they would have it ready for me by the time I got there. If you have never been to/heard of JJ’s before, they’re famous for making their sandwiches«freaky fast.» Like when you order at the counter, your sandwich will probably be ready for you by the time to finish paying. It’s pretty awesome! They are located on Westwood Blvd in Westwood. Westwood in general is notorious for AWFUL parking, so I had to circle the block to find a metered parking spot. Luckily I found one right across the street. As predicted, my sandwich was ready for me by the time I got there. I also added a bag of chips to my order. Highly recommend the BBQ ones! :) I could tell that the employees at this location were still new and getting used to working there. There was one girl who seemed to be in charge and was helping my cashier because he was having problems using the cash register… but I forgive him because they just opened this month. My sandwich tasted better than usual… but that could be just because I was starving. Either way, I enjoyed it! Overall, I definitely recommend trying Jimmy John’s gourmet sandwiches and their freaky fast service!
