Jennie is a warm, thoughtful, and skilled therapist. She has a calming, non-judgmental presence and you can feel that she really connects with the person in the room. I’ve only heard good things from other professionals and clients she’s treated. Not only is she professional, and highly educated in topics she’s passionate about; she is humble enough to ask questions, be open, and learn. A rare combination!

I first met Jennie Steinberg as a graduate student intern completing my first year clinical practicum at the Indigo STARR group home through Eliot Community Human Services. Over the course of my internship, Jennie was my on site supervisor but stating this fact does not adequately depict the impact of her mentorship during my time there. Jennie’s warmth, clinical expertise, and willingness to invest the time and energy in helping me develop and refine my skills as a clinician surpassed any expectations and hopes I had with respect to the kind of training I would receive under her supervision. I feel fortunate to have experienced firsthand the beacon of hope and support that she offers the individuals she engages both in treatment and in clinical supervision. As a result, I can confidently and wholeheartedly recommend Jennie Steinberg’s services for any and all prospective clients as I am certain they would greatly benefit from her care.

Jennie is new to DTLA and is fast becoming a staple to the area due her outgoing, friendly nature and by providing informational talks for the community. Jennie is a person who knows how to make things happen in her career and personal life — and I see her practicing self-care in her activities. She is a great resource if you are seeking ways to create success and balance in your life. In my professional interactions with Jennie, she is warm, caring and non-judgmental — qualities I’m sure she takes with her into the therapy room. She and I share a common interest in working with LGBT people and sexual minorities, and she displays a great working knowledge of these identities and cultures. I contact her if I need to consult on a specific issue or to talk about social justice issues. Jennie is a narrative and existential therapist, and uses laughter to facilitate talking about tough issues. She is straightforward in her interactions, which I appreciate. She is passionate about her work and giving back to the community she lives in. I refer to Jennie in a heartbeat!

I’ve been a colleague of Jennie for a number of years now, and I know her to be a particularly good therapist of great help to her clients. I have learned a lot from her blog articles and interactions/consultations with her. Of the many things I like about her, I know that she has an active and engaged style(as opposed to just«sitting and nodding» at the client every week) that I know many clients appreciate. I believe clients need and want that engagement because it’s real help that leads to real change and improvement in their lives. She is also very warm and approachable, and makes one feel comfortable with any topic. I know from her writing that she is scholarly astute and clinically sound in her practice methods, and I think that inspires confidence in both her clients and her colleagues who make referrals to her. She creates an atmosphere with both her skills and her caring that fosters trust, from clients and from colleagues. I highly recommend Jennie Steinberg for therapy for anyone!
