The food is pretty good in general, but I’m not a big fan of frozen sashimi. Been there a few times and every time the sashimi is frozen. Maybe that’s a Korean thing.

If you’re male and Hispanic don’t bother they don’t want us there. Seriously they saw my friend and myself and yanked the menu from my female friend. Aight I’ll take my money somewhere else. Id give it zero stars if I could. They claimed to be closed but their sign clearly said closing at 11. It was 930 pm. Fine. You guys don’t need my business I’ll let the fine folk of Unilocal know.

It’s ok. sashimi itself was great but Other than that, ok… Maybe i wasn’t pleasant enough about their service so possibly that’s why I didn’t feel that’s that delicious. Well. not bad for what you pay. lots of food on the table… and at least this place has definitely the korean style of sashimi. The location is a little off from the main korean town.

If I could, I would give this place no stars because I was denied service and had to leave. We wanted to order normal items like udon and sashimi rice bowl plus alcohol, planning to spend $ 50 – 60 for sure. We weren’t planning to order the large combos that were $ 100+ because it was too much food. The woman went to the back to talk to someone and came back saying that the«fire on the stove was out». I was confused because everyone had soup on their tables! Asked about that and she said it was because each had their own stove. I was appalled and left furious! Never in my life have I been denied service.

We got a large from this restaurant. There’s only 48 pieces of sashimi. Guess the price of this dish. It was $ 130LOL! $ 130 for 48 pieces of sashimi. The side dishes are ridiculous too. I’m not the type of person who posts anything negative about a restaurant, but I thought people should know about this. If you want to show off about how much money you have, then this is the restaurant for you. But if you would rather get as much as you paid for, then stay away from this place.

First, I’ll start with pricing. Good quality seafood is normally quite expensive. I thought the prices were great for the quality and amount. I went with a friend a few months ago. It was mid-afternoon on a weekday and it was almost empty(one other table with a family). From what I can recall, we had live octopus, uni, assorted sashimi, various nigiri sushi, sea snails(?), uni, sea squirt, and some other strange creatures from the sea that I’ve never tried before. I love trying new types of foods and I’m glad we ordered a little bit of everything. My favorite part was the live octopus. It was the first time I tried and at first, I was a little nervous because the pieces were squirming around all over the plate. I absolutely loved it and it was so fresh! If you go here, order it. You won’t regret it [: The only downside to this place was the service we had that day. Maybe it’s because I used to be a server, but we waited 5 – 10 min every time we wanted to order another item, get a water refill, and receive our bill. I would understand if the place was crowded but we were one out of two tables eating there… Sigh. All in all, I would still go back for the live octopus and sashimi xD

I guess everyone has a different preference on how they want to eat sashimi. I call it sashimi because it’s not sushi. Totally Korean style. What does that mean? It means that once you order a combo A or B or C, it comes with over 10+ different sides of seafoods. You name it, it’s there. What my favorite part is at the end, when they serve Spicy Seafood Soup(Maewoontang) with a little bit of burnt rice with hot hot water. You can choose from combination fish, which I believe is Halibut, Tuna, Salmon, etc. But I prefer the Halibut only. For 2 people, you spend about $ 80-$ 100, and I definitely think it’s worth it. Service is nice if you are nice, ya know? Out of all Korean style sashimi place, I prefer to come here. Better quality of fish and seafood sides, and much more variety. I have no idea why people keep putting low ratings… Do you even know how to eat sashimi?(The Korean way) Hahah

Found this place by googling restaurants while in the L.A. area. This place was a new experience for us, starting with the menu. It seemed like it is a type of communal dining as they sell their food by the package… family package(as opposed to single items)…and it was quite hard to differentiate between the«packages» bec each one comes with so many different dishes. But, we picked one, sort of blindly. The dishes were delicious enough, but there was so much food, it was overwhelming! There were also dishes that we didn’t care for, thus we didn’t really eat, thus wasted money. There were no individual plates or serving utensils, so my hubby, sister, and I dove into the dishes with our measly chopsticks and had no choice but to double dip… hence, communal dining. If you are used to this eating style, then you’re OK… but, we’re not. $ 160+ later, I(personally speaking) left there unsatisfied and wanting to find another place to find food. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese/Korean style dining and don’t mind communal style, this is the place for you. I just wish they had more choices for a la carte dishes so one doesn’t feel the need to order their family«packages.» Service was ok. P.S. The dishes pictured are only half of the food served to us… I forgot to take pictures of the rest of them.

If you want some sashimi with alot of side dishes, like the way they served you in Korea, this is the place to go. 5 of us came in hungry, without a doubt, I felt like I was in an all you can eat place with hundreds of different kinds of dishes to try. Sashimi was fresh, side dishes were delicious. Crab was a bit salty, but it was ok to eat. Live squid was great. I can’t wait to go back again!

Back again and its been too long. Friday night pack as usual and food keeps coming out! Only time we ordered more of uni and the large sized shrimps!(Ask for it to be fried NOT grilled) It took my shrimps about 20+ mins cause they misheard me and was grilling it. Explained to the waitress that i specifically asked for it to be fried… She popped in new fresh ones and got it done for me! I see that the sashimis arent fresh. :(more like frozen. Only the halibuts are fresh. Their side dishes and smaller starters have changed. They hook you up with steamed crab!(But not that meaty. Hint: ask for white rice and mix it in the crab body!- yes those green thinging– and add the red sauce and agn mix it all up… Some may like it some wont… But its jus such a Korean thing to do! ^^) try it!

Although Jeju is not my favorite of the Korean hwae jib(sashimi restaurants), it is definitely the best bang for your buck. Three of us ordered the Combination B mixed sashimi platter that is recommended for two people on the menu… more like two sumos! The dishes just kept coming, and the sashimi grade was a stupendous value at about $ 20-$ 30 cheaper than other hwae jib(Korean sashimi restaurant). The combinations come with a ton of starters and sides typical of most hwae jib: individual congee and salad bindae dduk(mungbean pancake) baby sea snails(use toothpicks to stab and pull out the meat. it takes a certain amount of savage finesse) donkatsu(pork cutlet) dweji bossam(steamed pork with kimchi) mixed greens with various fish giant oysters — a little TOO big munggae(sea squirt) uni(sea urchin) And that’s all I can remember since my visit was over a year ago now.

This is the best sashimi spot in LA! 5 stars for their sashimi combo when dining in however their rolls were a huge disappointment. We ordered 2 rolls for take out, the spicy tuna and eel roll. When I looked behind the sushi bar, there were no chefs making our rolls, then comes in the sushi chefs(I think coming back from their breaks) then comes the waitress with our take out from the kitchen? I wondered to myself«why are my rolls coming out of the kitchen?» Anyways we took it home and the spicy tuna tasted spoiled so we threw out the whole thing after spitting it out, there was so much rice on them and the rice didn’t even taste like they used sushi rice but the usual korean sticky rice. So not worth the $ 9 for the spicy tuna and $ 12 for the eel. Oh AND they didn’t give any wasabi. If they didnt have the rice for it or tuna that wasn’t spoiled they should not have sold them just to make a few more bucks.

I am a sushi snob– have tried every highly ranked sushi places in LA and SF bay area. Jeju Japanese restaurant offers the best sashimi deal in K town. I got the small Sashimi course for 2 people. The sashimi was so fresh and delicious. They give you so much food!!! It felt like I was at a buffet. But the difference is that I enjoyed many dishes(at a buffet you like two or three maybe?). My favorite dish was the steamed crab — - i.m.p.r.e.s.s.i.v.e. This place is the best for people who enjoy sashimi. If you like sushi, go to Sushi gen in Downtown.

THis place is VERYVERY average and this is me being nice. Time is precious and I wouldn’t waste it here unless some other good sashimi restaurant was busy. First off, the service was horrible. This restaurant caters to old korean people so they get the best service. If you are young, be prepared to be ignored… LITERALLY. We were in a group of 4 so we ended up getting the $ 110 Combo. It comes with an array of sashimi fish, abalone, and uni. It also comes with many appetizers and side dishes such as porridge, donkatsu, and spicy seafood soup at the end. Some were pretty good but some were untouchable to say at the least. Oh and the uni was really fishy. Call me spoiled but I just cannot eat uni that is not sweet, buttery, and FRESH. I took one bite and stopped myself. On top of that our tuna was brought out to us frozen. Really? You can bring ice tuna to eat?? We were joking how we were eating tuna sorbet. Thank you but NOTHANKYOU!

This place has lost a little bit of its luster over the multiple trips that my family has made here. The fam-bam kicked off Thanksgiving celebrations #1 here on Thanksgiving day — we had turkey and stuff(ing) on Friday. I used to put the Jej on a pedestal, but now, it sits a little lower. Why? First off, disappointing where we got seated! There’s a nice corner booth that we usually get — after all, when you roll with the Dukette(is that a word?) of Jeju, you should get the best spot in the place. The corner booth is perfect for being loud and rambunctious without disturbing other patrons. When you get all of us together and put 6 bottles of soju in rotation, chaos generally ensues. Unfortunately, we were seated in an awkward spot there they put 2 tables together — cept there’s only 5 of us. I sat at the separate table =( The first time you come here you feel overwhelmed in a good way because there’s about a million dishes constantly arriving at the table. You try to keep up and eat & drink as fast as you can, but you can’t keep up. Having made this trip about 4 – 5 times now, the food quality just isn’t that great. I’m still okay with giving this place 4 stars because it’s a fun place to dine. It’s generally pretty busy and servers are rushing from table to table dropping off various dishes. The environment is really conducive to eating, drinking, and being merry. And with all the fun dishes that come out, you can try something new. I tried live squid or octopus for the first time. After resisting until now, I broke down from family pressure(and alcohol). Let me say, it’s pretty good. It still wiggles and can like get stuck to your mouth with their suction, but if you give it a couple bites, it stops moving. That’s right — you chew it until it stops moving. My sisters love this place. I’m sure we’re going back around Christmastime. dmo out.

GOODDEAL! We had 6 people and chose the $ 170 combo option that feeds 4 – 5 people. There was SO much food. The food kept coming and coming! BTW there is a buzzer located near the table if you ever need the waiter. –Start off with a bowl of porridge, salad, and tea. –Side dishes come next– marinated snails, spicy tofu, spicy radish, squid salad, seaweed, baked sweet corn, ginger, roasted garlic, cucumber, sauces, sweet yam, steamed egg, fried chicken cutlet, korean pancake, kimchi. –Sashimi platter– halibut, salmon, abalone, uni, toro, yellowtail, and roe. –Another platter of raw oysters with sriracha, sea squirt(yuck!), and eel sashimi(they ran out of sea cucumber). –You can choose between live lobster or octopus. We went with lobster sashimi and it was so good! The lobster was still moving even though half its body is chopped up. –Handrolls– taste like a California handroll. –Steamed monkfish in spicy sauce with bean sprouts– ehh it was okay. –Grilled mackerel– tasty! Not bad. –Grilled monkfish fin and collar bone– not too much meat but the flavor is good! –Mori soba– refreshing! –Live crab– they’re rock crabs; hard to eat but the meat is so soft and sweet. –Burnt rice soup– ehh; I recognize this when I eat tofu soup(soondubu). People like to pour tea into their leftover rice pot and eat the burnt rice. –Lobster soup– the head and claws from our lobster sashimi was used for this soup; other ingredients included tofu and radish. One of my favorites! It was so good and so exciting! So much seafood! Every dish came double except for the sashimi and grilled fishes. Everyone had their own individual porridge, salad, handroll, burnt rice soup, and soba. Told you it was a lot of food. Calling uncle or mercy yet?!
