I went their food festival on Sunday, and it was awesome. Very crowded, but well worth the admission price. It was at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, which is a nicely decorated. Me and my friends got there early when there was no lines. We were able to easily get 3 – 4 plates of tuna, salmon, uni, shrimp, and yellow tail. Who can turn down all you can eat sushi and beer. YUMMY! During the event, we saw a 275 pound tuna get turned into sashimi. Overall, I would definitely go again.

they really know how to have a food festival! =) i went to the annual japanese food festival at kyoto hotel in little tokyo on saturday. it was the BEST food festival ever. most food festivals have tons of people standing in a line… when you get in, it’s more lines… not enough food… etc. that was not the case for this event. it was organized. there was plenty of food. i think everyone had a great time. it was because they limited the number of guests. they feature japanese food of all kinds: sushi, soba, miso soup, yakisoba, tofu w/rice, curry, mochi ice cream, dessert, tempura. there was a mega roll sushi event where 15 – 20 people made a long roll at the same time. they had music, beer, food, a sake room. you could go to the japanese garden on the 3rd floor to get more food and enjoy the scenery. you get a gift bag so that you can make your own japanese inspired food at home.
