Islander Motel

Lets just say they don’t care about your situations at all! I went in and told them a bad situation that happen to me. Like I have to move out of a place, that I was staying somewhere with someone. And I have to be out tomorrow and it Ima be homeless. I told them I have a steady job and I get that Friday. I told him he can run my credit card and he print of my id. So he knows I’m legit and I’m just looking for a place to stay right now. So he just turned me away and said bye. I told him I was good for it. And he can have my credit card on file but just can’t charge it today. He can charge my room when I check out. He wasn’t hearing it or didn’t care at all. Just to show how much people actually care

I have never seen a more disgusting room in my life. When I have time I will call the Health Dept. Sickening. It smelled. The carpets were old and musty. I pictured bedbugs galore. We walked in and saw that the bedspread was ripped and tagged with black marker. The bathroom had roaches and fleas. Not kidding. Furniture 40 years old and out of a Goodwill. The capper was when we looked into the closet and saw that someone had drawn a penis on the wall with marker. This owner does not even care enough to paint over? We demanded our money back and left. Yuccchhhh!

This motel happened to be the only vacant spot in Eagle Rock due to Occidental College’s graduation. No wonder! I booked 3 nights and left the next morning demanding a refund. This place needs to be avoided at all cost. Sleep out of your car.
My bedspring had a disgusting substance on it that a worker said was probably blood. Also the sheets and pillows make rocks and twigs feel soft. I have a deep suspicion of bed bugs. Also hair in the shower when we arrived. I am reporting this place to the Board of Health tomorrow morning when they open.

First time my bf and I went here we thought oh crap. The guy at the window was somewhat helpful, somewhat nice. The price for the room was $ 45, not bad I thought. I also thought for that price the rooms will be sleazy. We decided to go for it. We gave our info and got our key to go in.
The room was a smoking room so we asked for a non-​smoking room but we were told you need to reserve ahead of time, I made a mental note for that.
The room was clean, the shower was clean and always had hot running water. I have to admit… it was decent.
The location is not great though. You are on Colorado between Figueroa and Eagle Rock, the nearest convenient store is 7 – 11.
I will go here again if ever need a cheap room to use.
