This gym is quite nice! It’s bright and airy, and doesn’t have that stuffy foot smell that other facilities seem to acquire(nor does it feel like a prison yard.) Also, Charles is a GREAT trainer, he has tons of experience and really knows what areas you want to target and shapes a workout around them with a lot of variety so you never get bored or lulled into a routine. Definitely worth a try!!!

I’ve been going to this private training gym on Beverly Blvd near BLD and Kokomo for just over a year. I’ve been in several different«training situations» here in LA — staff trainers at Bodies In Motion and Meridian, private Gyrotonic lessons, boot camp in Hancock Park — and this is the only thing I’ve stuck with consistently. When I first called the gym, the owner Jon Aranita asked questions about what shape I was in, what I liked to do, and what I hoped to accomplish before recommending a trainer(and there are lots to choose from). The gym is smallish but has plenty of equipment, including cardio machines and a boxing ring. The actual lifting of weights is done 1×1 with a trainer, but you can come in on your own for cardio + they offer group boxing classes(hard but fun). The vibe is friendly and low key: people who go here are actually working out, not checking each other out. You will see lots of old t-shirts, very little spandex, and people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels.(Okay, there are a few celebrities and industry types, but we all do the LA thing and ignore them completely.)
