If you are looking for an authentic Salvadorian restaurant and this is the place that you want to check out because their food is amazing. The pupusas are really very delicious and inexpensive to get, or anything on the menu really. They attend you very quickly once you are seated. Very friendly service. I love coming here with my family. And just have that authentic Salvadorian food that my parents grew up having as a child.

If you’re in the mood to try authentic Central American or Mexican food prepared as real as it gets– might want to check out this place. Purchased coupon from amazon and was presently surprised by the experience. Selected the«Chili Relleno and burrito de pollo» from menu and although we have limited experience to draw comparison from –both items were very good and tasty. I would imagine the dishes to be what one might received(very traditional home cooked style) if they were served for dinner guests. The restaurant appears to be a family run business and everyone seems happy and genuinely appreciative that customers are curious to sample their menu. I would recommend this place over the drive through at taco bells any day. (PROS) Excellent food and interesting dining experience (CONS) Facility is small and street parking

I love this place!!! I been going for years… Best pupusas ever!!! Beef soup is delicious. I haven’ttried the chicken soup but my husband loves it so must be good… Service is great everybody’s very friendly I go probably 2 to 3 times per week so they know me by name now. Parking is hard to find especially at nighttime so i recommend going during the day…

My friend had a Groupon so… I was dubious. This is a tiny, divey place. Parking is a fright. But we were greeted warmly and found a small table in this crowded little joint. Service is friendly but there are definite language barriers — be patient and you’ll work it out. They were out of iced tea. That’s OK. My friend had one of their traditional drinks and loved it. We ordered a couple of papusas(really good — must order some of these) and I had a vegetarian burrito, which wasn’t technically on the menu but the young man taking our order was able to hook me up. My friend loved the cabbage that came with our food… Everything was really good and very reasonably priced. I’m not sure I would make this place a regular stop, but it’s way better than you would think for a quick, cheap and tasty lunch or dinner.

Delivery service sucks! it took the driver over 2 hours to deliver my food, which was colder than the drinks. when i told him that i placed the order over two hours ago, he went nuts and cursed me out in spanish. hijo de puta!

Thumbs up! Went with the family twice and the pupusas are delicious. The carne asada(as a main dish) was well seasoned but over cooked. I’ll be back

First time ordering pupusas. They were so delicious! We tried the regular(corn) revuelta pupusa, cheese pupusa, and also a couple of the rice pupusas. We watched the lady making the pupusas right in front of our table. They came with some cabbage salad(almost like a coleslaw with a little kick), as well as some salsa. Everything was delicious! The rice pupusas had a slightly crispier texture than the corn ones. Both kept their crispiness throughout the meal. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. While we were there, there was a constant stream of customers, mostly doing take-out orders. Still, we got our order fairly quickly(about 7 – 8 minutes).

Breakfast all day long! Excellent neighborhood eats. Pupusas and tortas were fantastic and made fresh to order while we waited. The place is always busy, which is it’s own compliment. Perfect for take-out. Fantastic for hangovers.

I’ve never been to the actual restaurant but I’ve been ordering food at least twice a month for the last 10 months. I have to say that their pupusas are very tasty and not oily like other Salvadorean restaurants(cough, cough Jaragua) where the food is more expensive and not as good; and even though they’re a bigger establishment don’t deliver. I actually live literally 2 blocks from Jaragua but always order from Ilobasqueño. Im salvadorean and ive been to many salvadorean restaurants in the area, but these guys are the best. I’m glad i found it on Unilocal!!! P.S The agua de arrayan is awesome, a must if you get a chance. Only reason I’m not giving these guys five stars is because they only accept cash for delivery orders, which at least for me is a bit inconvenient. But I understand this is a moms and pops small restaurant with amazing food :)

Nothing Special. They have a special on Wednesday from 1−3pm for $ 1 pupusas. Being Badluck Brian I went on Tuesday during lunchtime and had to pay regular price $ 2. The pupusas were just ok, a little on the too much dough side but decent. My friend got a cheese one, I got a revuelta one(cheese, refried beans, and meat). My friend doesn’t eat pig products and was happy to find out that they don’t use lard when they make their pupusas. The fried platains were just ok as well. Lots of beans very little cream, but not as fried as the other good pupusas restaurant. The one good thing about this awesome place is the hibiscus agua fresca. That and that it was not busy at all. The place is small but clean, staffed by 3 people who take your order and cook the food behind.

«14,» she said, when I asked if we could get the bill. «14?» “Yes, 14 dollars.” She walked away. My roommate and I looked at each other. I walked up to the register. «Excuse me, could I get like an itemized list with the prices?» The same waitress nodded, and pointed helpfully to the menu on the wall. We paid in cash.

$ 2 for superior pupusas revueltas and about $ 1.75 for tasty agua de arrayan(arrayan drink). The pupusas here are at least as good as those from Atlacatl. They are not greasy and have a good mix of chicharron(pork rinds), beans and cheese. The masa(corn dough) is tasty itself. The pupusas here are hand made and there is no mistaking since you can see the lady that makes them while she is making them. The agua de arrayan(a fruit) tastes really good and it does not taste like they use frozen arrayan to make it. SADLY, the curtido(cabbage in condimented vinegary sauce) here is BAD. It is flavorless at best and curtido is key to making a pupusa taste like Salvadoran food. Without good curtido a pupusa is little more than a gordita. Overall, service is pretty slow but they do give you your pupusas pretty quick. The waitress was nice but we rarely saw her. I had to track her down for more arrayan haha! My Bf had their ensalada drink which is pretty good here. This drink is a fruit drink with chopped up pieces of fruit in it. As you approach the store you see ugly formless brown curtains hung to the right of the door. The restaurant is pretty small and undecorated. Today it was pretty warm inside. It got full pretty quick and the customers here really like to chat up a storm. It does get pretty loud. There’s a huge flat screen towards the back of the restaurant. On Wednesdays between 2 and 5 there are $ 1 pupusa specials. I would definitely get them but the problem is the bad curtido:( Today parking was no problem but be warned that this area has metered parking and the adjacent streets are usually full of cars. They have no private lot. Conveniently, they accept cards here.
