I’ve been eating here for many years and find the food very decent in a pinch. Chicken or Beef Teriyaki are very good as well as the Tempura Vegetables. I also like their Sesame and Spicy Chicken. And the Chicken Salad is tasty and tender.

Some of the blandest udon I’ve ever eaten, and potentially harmful, as well. I specifically asked if the broth had fishcakes, which are often made with shellfish flavor, a big no-no for my shellfish allergy. I was assured that it did not. Of course, after I paid, I opened my udon to find two nice big kamaboko floating at the top. The tingling in my limbs later confirmed that the cashier didn’t know what the eff she was talking about. The only reason I came here is because we are temporarily stationed nearby and I wanted to check out the LA Mall with my work buddies. The rest of the offerings in the Mall appeared just as depressing as my udon, and next time I’ll take the A-DASH to Little Tokyo instead.

For being a fast food joint they are consistently delicious. The chicken is great, everything seems fresh and the employees are super nice. I’m not saying its gourmet or anything, but for $ 6 you get enough chicken, rice, and veggies to fill you up. Plus it is conveniently located across from the court. I plan on trying the beef next week since they didn’t have it today.

Especially awful. I had beef teriyaki on a green salad. Fail on both accounts. Serously find a Subway or better yet just go hungry.

Nothing sensational, just average food at average prices. Located across the street from the US Federal Court House in DTLA, inside the LA Mall Food Court — a great option if you’re serving jury duty and need a quick bite! //I swooped up a small cup of miso soup + a small order of California Rolls which came out to about $ 5. They do offer«chinese fast food style» options too — chow mein, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, etc. They do charge an extra .45 cents for any credit card purchases, lame. Friendly staff and lots of places to sit to eat, inside and out.

I don’t know what ingredient they put into their salad dressing but it never fails… a few hours after eating it… I am off to the bathroom. I will have avoid this place at all times. The food is good just avoid sesame salad dressing.

Came here for a quick lunch. Compared the to Chinese spot right across, this one had a line so I guess it wouldn’t be that bad. The prices are what you normally pay for fast food places. $ 5-$ 7 for a bowl or plate. Options include chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, sesame chicken, spicy chicken. You can get either a plate or a bowl with Fried Rice or Noodles.

I guess it’s not horrible, if you’re into grey beef. Went here on lunch break from jury duty mainly because it had the longest line in the LA Mall food court(besides Carls Jr’s cellulite factory). There were 24 people in line ahead of me. What, you dont count? Anyway, it was cheap which is always good. About $ 10 for beef teriyaki with brown rice steamed vegetables and a side of green salad. Perhaps if jury duty continues I’ll try the sesame chicken instead. The color looked more identifiable.

I’ve been a regular customer of Ichiban since the end of last year — literally, they were one of the few eating places open on New Year’s Eve during work hours — and have been hooked ever since. I’ve had the beef, I’ve had the chicken, but my absolute favorite is the teriyaki chicken salad. I can gobble that thing up and my appetite is satisfied for the rest of the day and I don’t feel heavy in the belly. For the price(you can get a meal and drink total for below $ 10), their portions are pretty generous — if you want you can save half of it for dinner! Just beware of the panhandlers — which to be honest, pretty much lurk everywhere in the L.A. City Mall — if they see you with change after the transaction, they won’t hesitate to ask you for it. One time we saw one guy casually walk up and take money from the workers’ tip jar — and the ladies behind the counter always provide excellent customer service, so that wasn’t cool.

Ichiban in Japanese means«the best» Well, this place doesn’t quite live up to it’s name, but it sure is popular. One can order the chicken teriyaki & tempura lunch for about 6 bucks. They also have fish, udon(noodle soup) and package rolls(like the kind that you find in a college cafeteria) The tempura is a little limp(c’mon, it’s a fast food joint) It’s very popular amongst the asian population(one of my faves) But I’m not knocking it!
