came here for the first time about a month ago and bought the jalapeño beef bowl and a Thai Tea well first off let me warn you its SPICY that is not a bad thing as it taste good along with being spicy the rice is cooked perfectly for a beef bowl and the perfect amount of juice with the onions included with the bowl since i first tried Huli Huli i have been back 5 – 6 times to get spicy beef bowl that i crave! if you like spicy then this is a MUSTTRY!

This Hawaiian food place is great! I ordered one of the super plates because it was my first time here and I wanted to try a little bit of everything and OHMAN!!! It’s a pretty big plate. The Katchu chicken is really crispy. Bbq chicken isn’t too sweet, and bbq beef isn’t too sweet either. The chow mien isn’t covered in used oil and the white rice doesn’t fall apart. The portion to price is great! I’m definitely coming back. The service is good too!

Just tried this Huli Huli for the first time. I’m actually still eating as I type and I just have to say… Great job!!! My food is not greasy! Not salty! Not soggy! AND it’s 5 minutes from my house! Exclamation marks!!! I know it’s difficult to start a new business anywhere these days, but I sure hope and wish you all the luck. Plus! I don’t have to go far to get my Boba!!! Great customer service and great food go hand in hand here. Btw, to those other reviews who mentioned not having soda, or the regular drinks… not everyone should sell that junk!

I highly recommend this place! I got the salmon plate with a Thai Tea and it was amazing! I have to mention that the portion is huge! I wasn’t able to finish my plate(I must add I eat a lot!) that alone was a huge plus! The workers were very friendly and even offered me some free samples of there yummy teas!(Buy one get one free!)

The cashiers– sometimes a guy and sometimes a lady– often look confused and somewhat inconvenienced by your presence as you enter the restaurant. BUT! I don’t go for the customer service, I go for the food, which is delicious. It’s similar to what you get at a Chinese takeout, but naturally, with a Hawaiian twist. I love trying new things, but when I go to Huli Huli I always get the shrimp bento because it’s just that good! I love mixing it with teriyaki sauce and katsu sauce.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and we were pretty impressed with the food and service. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the boba was buy one get one free, and the food was delicious. The portion size was great relative to the price. There’s plenty of seating. The only issue is the lack of parking in their little parking lot, but you can probably find street parking around there. I will definitely be coming back here though! Highly recommended.

I had high hopes coming into this place but I was so disappointed. The food is SALTY!!! I ordered a Loco Moco and when I ordered it with no gravy the employee asked me why and seemed upset that I asked for it that way. I simply said«I do not like gravy.» He gave me «ehhh, are you sure? It’s good.» Yes I’m f’ing sure!!! They didn’t have any soft drinks… such as soda or bottled water. All they have is tea and bobas and such. And I’m not sure if it’s half Hawaiian food and half Chinese food… who knows.

Ordered catering for a party and they were on point! Ordered a few hours ahead for the party and it was ready by the time that I showed up for pickup. All the guests loved the food. Portions were large enough to feed all of our gueses and more. The owners were friendly and accomodating. So glad I found this place on Unilocal~!!!

It was OK but really hot inside. Don’t go on a hot day! The food was ok but not what I expected. I guess when think«Hawaiian» it’s going to be more like a mix of food plus Japanese style rice. It’s not that rice, and that’s a big letdown for me. The rice is so important. Also, the mac salad should be like a certain way, but this one doesn’t taste quite right. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t taste like the other mac salads. A few days before, we went to a place in Gardena that was so on-point, and I guess the contrast was too much. Basically, aside from Shakas or Ono, the«Hawaiian» up on the eastside and sgv isn’t the same as down in the South Bay. Down there, it tastes less like Chinese food, more like Japanese food. Also, nobody has the saimin chow mein that was the main event at Miki Chan’s back in the 70s and 80s.

I was here today with my boyfriend. I ordered the orange chicken with chow mein and i’ve got to say that it was so good! They gave a huge portion so i could not finish it but i took it home to eat later. My boyfriend got the chicken katsu with beef and macaroni. I took little nibbles from his plate and his food was just as tasty. As for the service, the young man that took our order was friendly and made us feel welcomed. We will be coming back because how could you not come back again for good service, food, and boba?! The jasmine green tea with boba was just perfection. You have gained 2 new customers! I can’t wait to go back and try something else on the menu: D don’t think about it and just give this place a try(:

My wife and I trying out this new restaurant called the Huli Huli Hawaiian grill it open two weeks ago, I was very curious about this restaurant. Hawaiian restaurants are popping everything in Boyle Heights, E.L.A and other surrounding area. I know Hawiian and Chinese restaurants are very popular with Latino community because they like good flavors in the food and freshness of the food and being prepare fresh when you order. . We have been many Hawaiian restaurants tasted their crusine it’s the same to me but what is the between the difference the other Hawaiian restaurants to Huli Huli Hawaiian grill. The restaurant often good deal on their meals even the Hawaiian classics. My wife decided to get the Moco Loco and I order the chicken Katsu. And also we order a passion fruit green tea. I pick our meal then I felt our meals were little bit heavy. We both open our container we say wow, the portions are big. My wife likes her Moco Loco that’s is one of my wife favorite Hawaiian meal. She say it’s really good she notice it’s fresh and healthy. My chicken Katsu is amazing good, the chicken is cook perfectly light and crispy and crunchy. The chicken skin was cook perfect, I couldn’t stop eating it’s really good it have nice coding of Japanese panko breading coving the skin. The macroni salad is good I enjoy it very much including my wife. My wife say it have potato in the macroni salad and it have less mayo good choice by the restaurant. The passion fruit green tea was really good my wife and I enjoy it. Overall my wife and I enjoy the food at the Huli Huli Hawaiian grill and the service was excellent and friendly.

I agree with the previous reviews… The AC might be on but it is extremely low. It feels like an oven inside. Food is great! Bowls are larger than your average size. And the mango green tea Is also delicious! I do ask for light sugar as its very sweet.

We have Hawaiian food and boba in Boyle height. I ran in to this place today on Labor Day most of the other restaurants are closed;(I usually don’t try places if I can’t find a review. That’s what it’s come down too. We ordered the beef chowmein, coconut shrimp, BBQ chicken and of course the drinks. The drinks my favorite the fresh fruit green tea, we also got rose black milk tea and chocolate milk slushy. The food was delicious and for what you pay for its a huge portion, With lots of flavor. I’ll let the pictures speak for them selfs!!!
