Its a good place, but unfortunately we just came over and they are closed. It will be reopening under a different name Bamboo and notice outside says«Korean-Chinese restaurant coming». We are saddened, because the nearest comparable Cantonese BBQ will be Chinatown !

The service is fantastic, as soon as I walked in they greeted me and told to sit where I wanted. They took my order as soon as I sat down and ordered the orange chicken that had chili peppers on the side that were absolutely delicious and a order of pineapple fried rice that cooked pretty dam good. And they always serve tea while you wait for your food.

I think other reviews have pointed this out — but in an area dominated by Thai /Korean restaurants, finding a go-to Chinese food spot can be difficult. Luckily Huang’s House is around. Parking = easy(in the rear) Menu = classic staples(wonton noodle soup, dim sum staples, roasted pork in bulk) Very reasonably priced Don’t expect Chinatown or SGV, this is East Hollywood — but it is a great option for the neighborhood.

I’d give this place a higher rating because the price for lunch is AMAZING and the people were friendly but I just don’t enjoy food with a boatload of MSG

The order: 1 Chicken noondle soup, 1 Seafood curry The experience: the worker’s english is very broken but she tries. the place isn’t that big so if you come here when there is a large gathering, then you might feel a little cramped. When I came here with my boyfriend for lunch, there were two large groups, both drinking, and two small tables. The noise level is decent, like any other food joint so nothing to complain about there. The food is pretty good. I mean it’s not amazing nor was it bland. My chicken noodle soup was just that, a soup with chicken chuncks served over egg noodles and bok choi. It was nothing special but the broth tastes just like chicken noodle soup in a can. The seafood curry was the same, pretty good, not amazing. Overall I would recommend this place if you’re on a tight budget since most of the items on the menu is under $ 10 but if you are looking for a fancy chinese food place then a different place is for you.

Who knew awesome Chinese food was right around the block? Thanks Unilocal for the help! Whoa and that rhymed! They give lots of food. We ordered for delivery and got our food within the hour! There is a minimum purchase of $ 25 but we did order way above that. My brother has been looking for General Tso Chicken and this is by far the ONLY place we’ve found that makes it! They don’t even have it as a dish in Chinatown nor other places in mainland Alhambra. I know it’s not an authentic dish but still, THEYHAVEIT! I also love that for their honey walnut shrimp, they put the sauce aside knowing that it’ll be all soggy and what not by the time it gets to us. Anywhom, because of all the food, we had it for dinner, breakfast, lunch AND dinner again haha. =P Will definitely be ordering from them again. Cao

WORST Meal Ever(Chinese or otherwise). I ordered the Braised Beef over rice to go. When I arrived home and started to eat I quickly found out that the beef consisted of FAT. 75% of the beef was fat disguised in the brown gravy. Not beef with fat but actual large chunks of fat(YUK !). The kind of fat that you trim off and discard when you cook at home. Totally disgusting, and the little beef that was there was bad as well. I actually threw the food away(a first for me). I don’t know if it is new ownership or a new cook but I will not go there again. I ate there last year and it was o.k., not anymore. I am still grossed out by this experience.

Dear Neighbors of Los Feliz, I need you to know about this place. There are much better options for Chinese delivery for us all now. Why spend a fortune at certain places on Hillhurst for sub-par Americanized Chinese food? Huang BBQ to the rescue… Ok Ok… it is in a shady part of the city… but who cares because they deliver for free with a $ 25 minimum order and they accept credit cards… Speaking of that $ 25.it’s almost hard to spend. sometimes I order three dishes and my bill still only comes to $ 22 so I have to add something or drive there and pick it up… This is not a place to bring a first date, but a great place to bring your best friend… but again, why do that? They have DELIVERY!!! The reasons I love this place… 1. It is real Chinese food, but they still have our round eye favorites 2. It is a Mom and Pop shop 3. It has delivery 4. The prices are cheap and the portions are great 5. Plenty of parking That is 5 reasons and that is why I am giving 5 stars… Trust me it is not for the atmosphere. My favorite things to order… Any of their Chow Funs or Chow meins are amazing Their Sweet and Sour Pork is Delicious Their BBQ pork in Bomb Their Beef with Black Bean… Yum!!! Oh and did I mention they have about 50 lunch specials starting at $ 5 …Why on Earth would anyone go to the overpriced American Chinese Places on Hillhurst, or even Panda Express… No no no… really, trust me, give this place a try. I highly recommend delivery. Please excuse their English… They are very nice people but sometimes you will need to repeat your order.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and got delivery once so far. The food is WONDERFUL! It’s simple and delicious Chinese food, no surprises here and no gimmicks. Just very nice people making great classic dishes. I love their roasted duck and all the seafood dishes. I can’t wait to try their lobster next time I order!

The service was good as best to their ability due to language barrier. The prices are fantastic! You can feed a family of six with four main dishes. Food was fair to good and yes it was tasty. Would we come again? Why not, we were satisfied for what it was.

The service was terrible. It took more or less 30 minutes for the servers to take our order. The waiters’ level of professionalism was extremely underwhelming. They kept making excuses to why their service was slow. One of the waiters blatantly told my father to move from where he was sitting in the most rude tone. They never offered us anything to drink. They even allowed a group of customers to bring in their own bottles of alcohol. The food was mediocre. Definitely not worth the wait.

Exactly what I want from a Chinese restaurant. Cheap, delicious, and authentic. I walked in and I was the only person in the place that wasn’t Chinese, a good sign by my standards. The décor wasn’t much, the server barely spoke english, and I couldn’t have been happier. It’s about the food, not aesthetics. The roast duck was some of the best I’ve ever had. I also think you can byob. Usually you have to drive out to the sgv for food like this. I can’t wait to come back.

I really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. Everything we ordered tasted really good — roast duck, house special chow mein, fried calamari, stewed beef brisket noodle soup and even the fried sole that came free with our order! The dining area and kitchen were clean even though it looked questionable at first glance because the building is really old. The location of the restaurant would probably be my only concern coming back here. It is a little scary being on a busy street. There is parking at the rear as well as access to the restaurant so you won’t need to go around the not so pleasant front to get in. Service was excellent too! Will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area!

Food is not all that at this place. Chicken noodles & Mongolian beef were okay. Wonton noodle soup had no flavor. Not coming again to this place! Also I was not offered what to drink, I asked what they had! Btw really annoying when you are eating and people are so loud because their drunk. My child was scared to hear these people constantly talk loud like yelling.

This is my new place for low priced Chinese food. It is a small mom and pop place with friendly service and great food. The duck is delicious… a must! The dim sum is not as good as I hoped.

This is your quintessential hole in the wall. Great food, great price, service is pretty good, and simple décor. Foodie come check it out. Their roast pork and roast duck are awesome.

Unfortunately I’ve experienced way better. I had high hopes for a good meal for this place as I’ve eaten their cod with black bean sauce before and really liked it. Unfortunately the chicken in the chop suey was inedible. Posting a picture so you can see. I don’t know how old it was or where it came from. It also smelled microwaved.

Surprisingly good quality for the price. Under 18 dollars for three lunch specials. Duck is delicious, beef and chicken as well. Very fast and outstanding quality.

As someone that grew up on Chinese food in Vancouver, moving to LA has been a sad experience. The Chinese food here is terrible. Greasy, Americanized slop. I even tried the San Gabriel valley and was underwhelmed. This restaurant is the real deal. It’s not fancy, it’s not upscale, but the food is as authentic and delicious as you’d get in any city. It brought me back home. Not to mention incredibly priced. Service was also friendly. We’ll be coming back and if you’re on the fence, you need to give this a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m so glad they turn this place around after BBQ Unlimited #2. The food looks so much better, the quality has gone up both taste and presentation. Their lunch special is very inexpensive and I also love their togo dimsum! Located in the east Hollywood area, there aren’t many option for a great authentic chinese food here.
