Hot Topic

This was my go-​to Hot Topic for two years due to location. The store is medium-​sized and organized in the usual standard chaos that requires you to crane your neck to view all of the t-​shirt designs and bump into people when you bend down to pick something up off a ridiculously low shelf.
That being said, this location has a great variety of merchandise and is always nicely organized when it comes to presenting sales/​promotions. The staff has had some degree of turnover; some of the best and most helpful employees have moved on to other stores in the mall. That being said, the manager is excellent. I frequently used the ship-​to-​store option and was always promptly helped with inspecting the merchandise before I took anything home with me.

So this is a fun place to pick up some vintage yet new clothes and paraphernalia that features the cultures of video games, music and general sassiness. But, no, contrary to the bad info I overheard, this is not just a place for girl’s clothes.
Enjoy a stroll through the aisles, gawk at the walls of t-​shirts and jeans and turn back the clock. Even if the clock in question was never in your lifetime, lol.
I came here especially for a gift certificate, and that was pretty easy. The staff is helpful and hip and thankfully, have a sense of humor. Really enjoyed visiting here.

I came in here close to closing to look for new shoes, and I can’t tell you how pleased I am with this place. I live right by the Santa Monica Place Mall, but I literally go out of my way every time to come to this location! It’s huge, way better selection, I love their awesome sale section, and their dressing room is fantastic. Michael helped me out and was a total sweetheart! He was funny, made conversation, didn’t make me feel awkward or rushed (especially so close to closing!), and went above and beyond to make sure not only of course did I buy something, but that I was really happy with what I bought. I love it here and I appreciate how none of the employees are snobs! Favorite location, by far. Michael is great!!! :)

The 2 young male associates only talked with each other, while hanging out at the register. As I am on my way out I hear «are you looking for something special? Because Im right here baby!»
Sad to say I am never coming in this specific Hot Topic again, despite being the closest location to where I live. I always find some gems but have to take some time looking and it wont happen here. Should have turned around and gotten the guys name. Either way, I will not take my chances of being around such rudeness again!
Way to make customers feel uncomfortable! Go back to school, kids!

I will never shop at your store again. I purchased a beanie two weeks ago. Four days after having the item, it complete spilt open. I went into the store today hoping to make an exchange. I had my receipt which was well under the 30 days in which refunds are allowed. The store manager, Guillermo E gave me an incredibly hard time that the item had been worn… And how does he know what I am telling him is the truth? You don’t stand by your items? What about the 30 day return policy? He finally agreed to give me a store credit. Well… A lot of grief over an item that cost less than10 bucks. Now Guillermo, I will never shop at your store ever again. And hopefully this review will cost you more business as well. TERRIBLE customer service. The store credit could have been given initially and I would have continue to not only buy more today but in the future. Enjoy the torn beanie, you lost a customer today you will never get back … Over a defective item that cost less than 10 bucks. Don’t assume that your customers are lying to you … Receipt produced and all. WOW!

Love this place! Me, my daughter and my granddaughter shop here. We love the staff. Very energetic and super friendly. They make you want to shop and want to come back. Love you guys!

I’ve been shopping at Hot Topic since I was a teenager. Love this place and what it meant to me at that age lol.
I recently came to this location after a few years and had a great experience. The sales clerk was so helpful. I didn’t catch his name but he was very friendly and helpful. I found an adorable black and white striped dress which I bought, along with a really cute skull and rose bracelet and both were super affordable.
My daughter found a few things that she wanted and the sales clerk was nice enough to give us a great coupon so that she could get a few extra things for free. How nice! I love it when people go out of their way to help you save.
I will definitely come back to this location. Secretly happy that my daughter’s as in to Hot Topic as I was back in the day, lol.

if you ever need black armwarmers with chains hanging off of them do come here. they actually some cute clothing if you like to look like you died a little bit. seriously, i love their tripp armwarmers…

Okay, okay, so I’m not your average Hot Topic shopper, but I was desperate for a black mini skirt to complete my Halloween costume, and headed for every place under the sun. Eventually, I ended up in Hot Topic, and to my pleasant surprise, the over-the-top-I’m-so-goth-I’m-dead employees were AWESOME! They asked me (suzy-​sunshine-​with-​a-​fresh-​face-​and-​bluejeans) what I was looking for, earnestly helped me search for it (in spite of the huge crowd of costume-​seekers), and were most apologetic about not having my size, in the end. They were far nicer and more professional than the people I encountered at Nordstroms, Macy’s and a myriad of other stores I went to today. When I am next in the market for fishnets or a novel-​Tee, I may just hit this place up again!
