Hollywood Park Recreation Center

Me and my roommates decided to throw a frisbee around so we walked to this park.
We went on the HUGE grass field and moments after a playing a man who works with the center walked over to one of us and told us that we had to pay $ 25…to play frisbee. on the grass.
A handful of people were tossing around the baseball including money grabber. We were on the opposite side trying to utilize the park.
We were pretty offended. Are only option was to play on this small patch of dirt as that is the only grass at the location.
Why do we pay taxes if we have to pay $ 25 to play on a practically empty grass field? The only grass for a few miles in an ocean of concrete. Really? I’m looking into this.

Small park but i love it… The park director and staff are very nice. They are also building a pool right next door. Can’t wait for the summer to arrive.

I came here for the Eat, See, Hear showing of «Friday». This looked like a nice, clean park. It was the perfect size. There were plenty of trash receptacles and ample street parking.

The facility is run down, but the staff here do their best to make it work. They offer rythmic gymnastics here, piano lessons, baseball, ad a pool in the summer. The teachers are really good. Even thought the center is rundown I give this place 4 stars for the staff and programs offerred. It does a great service to the community. It’s sad that the city doesnt do more to update these great resources.
