There NUMBER is 323−257−5924, and now Wed-Sat there is free swimming to the public from 6pm-8pm. They have a really sweet and good looking Girl Locker Attendant and Pool Clerk ;)

Surprised there is no review yet for this pool, as I think it has been here for ages(20+ years?) This is a solid public pool. Opened for the season last Saturday– went to check it out and it was bonkers– came back Sunday and it was calmer, and nice. When we visited, there was a definitely an old school«summer in the city» atmosphere. Lots of neighborhood families and kids, teens goofing around, talking to each other through the fence. Nice vibe. It’s not plush, it’s utilitarian and it’s older… and it’s a little beat from use and budget cuts, but it was perfect for us last weekend. The staff is nice and were on it. Instead of lockers, you check in your things(the things you don’t want to take out side with you to the pool) with an attendant. They put them in a bag, and then they give you a pin with a number on it. The ‘locker room’ itself is just a big room with a few benches, the showers(please take one!) come out strong. It’s free for kids that are 17 and under. Adults are $ 2.50, $ 2.00 if you show them your LAPL Library card. This is a deal, and in this age of the privatization of everything, visiting places like this pool, and the Arroyo Seco Library a few blocks north, can remind you that these types of spaces still matter. There are lessons, swim team, etc. BTW, the hours for Summer 2012 are June 24– June 30 Monday — Friday 2p-6p Saturday & Sunday-1p-5p July 1– August 12 Monday– Friday 11a-3p, 4p-6p Saturday & Sunday 1p-5p
