They moved and only gave 5 days notice. Now I have to go to groupon for a refund and their wait time is over an hour! When I went in, the girl didn’t even check on me once! I believe her name is Malicia. I shouldn’t even had tipped the girl. She was very nice and it was clean but I do not recommend at all!

Wednesday evening around 7pm, we were greeted by a very nice, and professional staff member. The facility is very clean and welcoming. Netflix worked well, the staff member explained everything throughly and we produced sweaty bodies. We will be back.

This boutique was so awesome for a Nice quiet time of relaxation while you cozy up in a sweat bag and watch a good movie or documentary! After it’s all done you feel light and fresh and a bit exhausted from the detoxing(naturally)… Malicia is an ANGEL sent from the heavens. She suggested the Good Tummy herbal cleanse#2 and it has Already changed my life and I’m forever grateful to these exquisite herbs. I have evacuated more waste than I knew I had and my tummy is getting flatter by the day(I SWEAR).She was an absolute sweetheart through the entire experience! I can definitely call myself a regular client now!

Heat wave is located in the Phoenix Suites off Glendon by UCLA. I parked in the structure right next to it. Make sure to bring your parking ticket inside with you to get it validated. However, I will elaborate on this more later. I purchased their groupon deal and was curious to try what this place was all about. I had some difficulty booking my appointment online so I called their office and was instructed to shoot them an email with my name, number, day and time I preferred. I called a couple hours later to confirm and sure enough I was. It would’ve been nice to receive a confirmation email instead but I guess I needed to put forth the effort to make sure I was confirmed. Key notes to remember: make an appointment, wear sweats, sweater, and socks, and don’t eat anything heavy 1 – 2 hours prior to your appointment time. I arrived about 10 mins before my appointment and filled out their waiver form via iPad. Their restrooms are down the hall to the left and very clean. Kudos for that! I forgot her name but the girl who helped me during my stay was friendly and courteous. She explained to me that the heat in the bed can intensify and I will be sweating A LOT. There’s a basket under the bed to place your belongings and shoes. I crawled into the heated wrap and positioned myself comfortably. She handed me some headphones which had disposable covers over the ear pieces. There is a tv mounted on the wall in front of you for your viewing pleasure. I chose to Netflix for my next 50 minutes. The pillow cases are disposable also. As I laid there the first 10 minutes was tolerable than I started to feel the sweat dripping from my forehead, nose, and neck! As time passed it kept getting hotter and hotter and I kept sweating more and more. All the while they provide you with alkaline water to stay hydrated. Whoa was I sweaty! The experience has been different and a first for me. It was actually relaxing for me up until it got super hot which was already at the very end. As I wiped away my sweat at the end of my session, I realized just how much I perspired. I was soaking through my sweats! I recommend this place for its cleanliness and the service they offer. A place to sweat! Oh, and although with parking validation I ended up paying $ 2, still. Will be retuning to complete my sessions.

What the heck did I just do it myself? I just paid money and drove in traffic so I could sweat? Anyone who knows me, knows I despise sweating. I have to laugh at myself for joining Sweat Fit last week and now going to Heat Wave today. I bought an Amazon deal for Heat Wave hoping to sweat out toxins from all my bad-girl eating(and not to mention the wine and double IPA drinking.) I had no idea what to expect. I can’t compare to another heat/hot /sweat– type place. I do, however, know about spas, cleanliness, and good service. This place did not disappoint. The girl behind the desk’s name was Melicia(sp?) She was a doll. I opted to pay $ 6 for a body sweat, plastic suit thingy rather than use my own sweats. I figured if I’m going to do this, I’m going all the way. Members get this at no cost. I did keep on my sports bra, bootie shorts, and socks. I was prepared with my tablet to do some emailing while I sweat. But that’s not how it works! You need to keep your arms under the heavy duty heat producing blanket which had *another* blanket on top! OKAY! I guess I have no choice but to relax. I’m a little sore from yesterday’s kick-boxing class so I figured this is great for my sore muscles. Girlfriend set me up with a large glass of alkalized water with cover and straw. She put my bag in a cubby under my bed. She then wheeled a lil bed-side table with the water,… and would I like the fan on for my face? Yes, please ! That was also on the bed-side table. Cool beans! Well, not that cool. as I started to sweat from the neck down… I got comfortable and chose the movie ‘Bad Grampa’ on Netflix. I chose this movie knowing it was the kind that I won’t have a bird when I don’t get to finish it. And it’s totally stupid and light-hearted. Perfect. When 50 minutes ended, I was thrilled to get out of that bed. I felt like a noodle. I must add that except for the last 15 minutes, or so, I did not sweat on my face. I like that my face didn’t sweat and get itchy until the very end. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be because the air I was breathing wasn’t hot. And I also had the little fan on. I survived.
Girlfriend came to tell me it was over. I yelled at her while looking in the mirror,” I don’t look any skinnier !!” She knew I was just playing. On the drive back, I noticed that my tennis elbow was pretty near perfect! Whoa, that’s cool! Speaking of cool, the AC blowing on that arm made it stiffen. Interesting. I lowered the AC and aimed it away from arm. When I returned home, I had a hot shower and 90 minute massage. Then went to a yoga class at Sweat fit. I should be totally zen now, right? Will I go back? I don’t know. They need a shower. With no shower you have no choice but to go home before returning back to work, shopping, etc. When I mentioned the need for a shower, Melicia mentioned they’re opening another Heat Wave in Ventura. I assume they’ll have a shower at that location.

Not a fan. I purchased 2 sessions and after using one, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. TV didn’t work at all and a woman tried to fix it– for about 10 – 15 minutes, but to no avail. I was not able to relax bc all of the putting around with the tv. Also, since I didn’t have anything to listen to, it was very very noisy. Also, weirdly, when they gave me water, the glass was only about ¼ full. It looked as if it were a left over, used glass and I asked why there was barely water in it, the woman said it was because«most people don’t drink much water and they don’t want to waste it». WHAT?! You’re sweating! You need to drink! Sounded like a weird excuse. It’s a small facility and not much of a noise barrier. Overall, the place feels thrifty. Also, I was amazed at how I had to walk like half a mile down the hall to go to the bathroom. When you’re sweating and maybe wanting to have privacy, trekking down the hall past multiple other businesses to go to the bathroom feels stupid. Two stars for the nice employees.

Had my second session today. Even more effective than yesterday. My energy level is up and my skin is so smooth after my showers. A brilliant way to detoxify and to enhance the effects of my regular workouts. Extremely friendly staff! They’ll answer all your questions and address your concerns. Complementary snacks and alkaline water to prep and to replenish everything you sweat out. Buying a package today to become a member! Extremely satisfied.
