Came to eat here and the service was bad. They even charged me 400 for 40 dollars worth of food. Then they just said sorry for the charge and now I’m stuck waiting a few days for the void to clear. Never going back

*disclaimer: this post might seem super gross to people* It seemed like everyone was raving about the yooksoo(the broth thing that they give you instead of water). I was excited to try it because my friends were like«ohmygosh this is so good July it’s literally amazing.» So naturally I’d want to try it cuz it’s so hyped up, you know? So I take a giant swig and it was the worst mistake of my life. I swear to God this after taste is that of dog hair. My boss used to bring his dog into work and this broth straight up tasted like my boss’ dog’s hair… I decided to eat my pork galbi jjim(which was pretty good – the ahjumma gave me hella meat in mine) and then after my meal I was like«hm ok let’s give this yooksoo one more chance. Maybe it’ll not taste like dog hair??!» I took a wee-sip and NOPE – still tasted like dog hair. Take what you want from this review, but my tastebuds have spoken… And they’re telling me that the broth is no-no. BUT to counter the broth, the food itself is good so y’all should still come and try the food(maybe avoid the broth though and ask for ice water or something)!

I wouldn’t say I’m a fan, but it certainly serves delicious hoe naengmyeon– bibim naengmyeon with spicy raw skate fish. Yum! The restaurant isn’t small, but it has that hole-in-the-wall vibe. Service is bare, if non-existent. So, why four stars? If you know what you want and what are good at this spot, this restaurant will deliver it with on the dot flavors at dirt cheap price. Nearest Metro Station: Purple Line at Wilshire/Normandie Station — Not within walking distance

Their menu is very cheaper than most korean places i think in my opinion. I came by 4 times already and im finally leaving a review for the first time. I would want to give 3 star because of the unfriendly service, but since owner(tall tanned male guy) was very nice i am leaving 4 star.

I always get the stir fried chicken marinated in spicy sauce. Really good, very flavorful, and nice and spicy. The place seems clean, along with the tables and cups. It’s never been packed, but it’s always busy.

Ham Hung’s cold noodle is exactly what I needed for such a hot August this turned out to be. My only qualms with it were the broth was sweeter than I prefer and there was a very skimpy two slices of meat in the dish, but overall it hit the spot. Quick & friendly service from the one waitress and shared parking available are the pros. The bf was kind enough to accompany me despite not being the biggest soup fan. I didn’t taste his order of stir fried pork but he gave me his soup and let me snack in his banchan. The hot soup was simple hot flavorful clear with lots of green onion(which I love). Good contrast before eating my cold noodles. After awhile I got tired of eating the same flavor of sweet cold noodle broth but the banchan — very spicy garlicky kimchee and mild nutty sesame oil & sesame seed flavor of the bean sprouts — livened up my last half of my cold noodle experience for the afternoon. I’d recommend folks come and try this place out. Big thanks to my friend K. For recommending it to me!

Customer service is awful and their food is below pat. Do NOT order cold noodles here. Their broth isn’t the cleanest. However, there is provided parking so that’s worth something.

Worst ever… dishes and cups came out dirty with food pieces stuck on them. Noodles were undone and beef seemed to be off… this restaurant was good about a year ago, but I guess they’ve now given up.

I came here on Saturday around 12 for some lunch with friends. We ordered the seafood nengmyun and the dumpling soup. The nengmyun was mediocre, at best. I was very disappointed with the customer service. We noticed that all the dumplings had exploded in the soup and realized there were only 2 dumplings in total. You’d think there would be more than 2 dumplings, or any dumplings that are pieced together in a $ 9 soup. We told our waitress about our problem, and she simply nodded and left. We assumed she went to pass the message on to the cook and so we waited. She never came back and we never receive any form of reimbursement, not even an apology. I strongly do not recommend coming to this restaurant. There are many other great places to eat in Koreatown.

The food is great. Authentic Korean vibe. Typical Korean service, take ur order then drop off ur meal then disappear, joint. I recommend coming after 7pm, NJ service is better because there’s no one in there but u. If u come in during the lunch rush, good luck finding parking and good luck getting a table. All in all, BEST and AFFORDABLE Korean noodles and they have the BEST beef broth in ktown. No refills on soda. Sold by the can only.

i’m not picky about food, and even if it’s bad, i’ll still eat it. but here, i could not continue to eat it. that was NOT nengmyun i had… even korean diners(places that serve everything and doesn’t specialize) have better nengmyun than this place. i also ordered dwenjang jjigae, and that smelled like the beef in it was extremely old and tasted horrible. had to leave with more than half the food still in my bowl. the attitude of the lady working there wasn’t very nice either. it was like«order, eat, and get out, folks!»

The newer place is definitely a downsize from their previous location but the taste is roughly the same I’d say. I usually get the skatefish spicy cold noodles with beef and pork belly and it costs about $ 8 – 9. The ingredients are fresh and the taste is wonderful! The crowd on a weekday is usually older Koreans in their 30−40s and occasionally some in the 20s. The service is mediocre but the food usually comes out fast in about 15 – 20 minutes.

The food takes so long to make it. No service at all. Don’t expect too much service here. The food is alright, not good not bad. The side dish is terrible. The marinated spicy octopus is super chewy!!! The picture and the food aren’t match at all. I ordered a cabbage and rib soup. I don’t expect it is spicy and it only comes with two small pieces of rib. The LA kalbi tastes alright. This place is good for groups and it has its own private lot. Other than that, one star for everything.

We took BBQ ribs and beef broth. Everything is served with a cup of rice and salads. Food was brought to us very fast. Prices are competitive. Everything was nice and fresh. Recommend this place to try authentic Korean food.

Ahhh i was sooo disappointed! =[ This place used to be my favorite place to eat NANGMYUN with GALBI but it is totally different now that they changed their location. This location was a HUGEDOWNSIZE from the other one & they don’t have the grills anymore so it is more of a quick grab kind of place. Not sure if they changed owners or not but I was seriously disappointed only because they used to have the best tasting cold noodle broth with crushed ice in it. MOOLNANGMYUN — cold noodle soup the noodles were still good but the broth was just too sweet. The cucumber in it was sweet too. Literally seemed like the ingredient has changed completely. The hot broth YOOKSOO that they serve as a drink also tasted bad it just was not flavorful at all. And for some reason it smelt like wet dog. Couldn’t figure out if it was the broth or the cup. LAGALBI — this was actually okay it was tender but it came out towards the end when I was also done with my noodles. I usually like to have them together. FRIEDMANDOO — you can’t ever get bad fried dumplings ahahah Service was fast as always & we were in & out of there in less then an hour. This place used to be a 5 star for me especially since I have had it every time I come to LA since I was little… but don’t think I will be coming back anymore because of the change in flavor.

Both the service and food were terrible. Only nengmyun was okay but won’t come back for it. The meat. do NOT get the 5.99 deal! It’s cheap for a reason.

Given the quality of Korean food in Koreatown… this place is on my, I won’t be going back list. I guess it should’ve been a tell tale sign when we waked in on a Saturday night and the place was bare, just one other couple. We ordered the naeng myun and soft tofu soup. That was probably the worst soft tofu soup I’ve ever had. The naeng myun was ok, but not spicy at all and nothing to scream about. The best thing about this dinner was the yooksu, the broth they serve with the naeng myun. I wouldn’t recommended wasting your time here.

If it was just based on taste, I’d have given this place maybe 2 more stars. But because of the severe lack of service here, I can’t give this place more than one. For instance, all the waitresses here lack any short term memory skills. One of them almost lost my credit card, and another forgot my order. Furthermore, they do a terrible job in washing their cups and dishes, as I noticed flakes of red chili paste on our cups that were supposed to be «washed.» Anyhow, I can safely say that I’ll never come back here to eat here. I’ll probably just order dumplings next door.

I love nengmyun and have probably tried more than 50 different places here in LA. I think this place has one of the best mul nengmyuns. Not too crazy about the spicy bibim nengmyun but the mul is delish. The broth tastes a little different from other places. I always have to ask for more cold broth. They also have a great nengmyun jumulluk meat combo. They charge 5.99 if you add the meat to your nengmyun. The meat is really good and that is a great price. The ddukbokki here is good too but a little too spicy for me. Not too crazy about the potato pancakes. little too undercooked and mushy for me. Not too crazy about the kimchi either. The other dishes aren’t that great but this place is known for their nengmyun so if that’s what you are craving, you should definitely check it out.

Came here on Saturday for early dinner. Had a mool neng myun and split the LA kalbi and dumplings with 2 others. Food is good here. The Kalbi is pretty good, sweet and tender. Dumplings are pan-fried and just ok. I wish they had more of a crunch. The neng myun was alrite as well. I’m not a huge neng myun fan and I can’t really tell the difference between different places but this place seems to be popular amongst neng myun connoisseurs. As most other reviewers mentioned, service isn’t the best here. You really just have to keep asking for whatever you want but that’s old school korean style or something i guess…
