Hair Team

So first off — do NOT buy the Unilocal deal if you are just getting a haircut. It only saves you money if you’re doing color or something extra. So I paid $ 25 for $ 45 on Unilocal,but then because I was a new customer it would have only cost $ 20. And their regular rate is only $ 32 for a haircut.
But other than that I was very happy with The Hair Team and Pia. They got me in on the same day I called and was possibly the fastest haircut I’ve ever had. I mean I was only doing a trim, but in and out in 30 minutes is still speedy!
The place is very simple, no frills, but I don’t care about that stuff. Will definitely come back!

Just took my daughter there to get her cleaned up for head shots and they took great care of her on the fly for a really affordable price. Great up and service like family! Thanks Hair Team!

Came for a desperate last minute hair cut and I’m super glad I did, thank G-​d!
Really pleased with the result but just as importantly, I’m really grateful for the attentiveness, assistance and support I got from the stylists. They gave excellent advice without being pushy.
Also got a wonderful hair product at a great price :)

I’m definitely not the kind of girl that makes her hair a priority, and the default has been long hair for many many years. I’m so happy to say that this changed when I met Pia. Not only did she give me a phenomenal haircut, but the price CANNOT be beat!
I will definitely be back again soon for another fun haircut.

It took me years to find Pia (seriously — I’m 62!!) and she is wonderful. I finally let my hair grow
out to it’s natural grey and the way Pia cuts my hair I literally have to do nothing, no product, no blow drying — nothing! As my hair is fairly long I love the low maintenance.

Worst customer service ever. Sign outside says walk-​ins welcome $ 20 well when I walked in I was greeted by to Rude ladies looking at me puzzled on why I was standing there. The older lady Insisted I must call and make an appointment. I mean I was standing right in front of them you think they could make an appointment in person I guess not too difficult. I recommend not wasting your time and money find a different location with more welcoming service.

I just had the most fun with these gals today! Having grown up in hair salons (my mom does hair) this was a total good time throwback– and the results– EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. Perfectly blended highlights, and a cut that is cute and brought my hair back to a healthy place! I used the voucher which brought the price down to a ridiculously inexpensive amount. I’ll be back to get my hair done, and maybe just to hang out!

This place deserves 10 stars! Best color, cut and blowout I have ever had, not to mention the most affordable (that was the icing on the cake). I will be back again and again!!!

I just got off the phone with the colorist she didn’t sound like she knew what she was talking about and was VERY rude I only wanted cut my hair. She starts yelling at someone why are you wasting my time with a haircut … Needless to say I hung up!

Such a fun environment! Was told to not use the $ 25 voucher on first cut because it’s cheaper to pay $ 20 for first cut. So if you are going for your first time, just bring the cash! I will be going back for sure!!!

Admittedly, I don’t make my hair is not a priority but in an effort to spruce it up I tried to remove the colors I’ve added over a long time to start anew. I needed help and was given a Unilocal deal by a friend for Hair Team. I now look amazing. Thank you Dalia for correcting my color without making me self-​conscious about it, I appreciated your input because i was seriously at a loss. Thanks Pia for a great cut, more age appropriate and stylish. See you next time I’m in town.

Wow, what an odd place. It has a strange aura about it since the Israeli woman who runs the place has a very STRONG, almost overbearing personality, and she’s just as firm with customers (on the phone and in person) as she is with her staff, who secretly apologize for her behind her back.
While she was doing my hair she let me know that the color shirt I was wearing didn’t suit me. When another girl came in for something like highlights, she told her it was a bad idea and refused to do her hair unless it was the way she recommended. She then asked me what I thought about «x» political issue and then rambled over my answer about how much she hates Obama.
Maybe I’m the crazy one, but in spite of all this, I’d go back. New in town and not wanting to break the bank, I went there for the first time for highlights, and she did a good job, and I wasn’t there for six hours as I have been before at other places (I have really long hair.)

This is a hidden gem. I went in for a hair cut on Friday. I had an idea of the hair cut I wanted. I showed it to my hair stylist and that was it. I have short hair for the first time in my adult life and I LOVE it. I will be bringing in my sister and mother when they want a good hair cut.

I came into LA during the winter break from graduate school and realized that I was in dire need of getting my hair redone before I started making reunion rounds and seeing a ton of people I haven’t seen in quite a long time. My friend and I started looking up salons with deals on Unilocal and found Hair Team.
I called and spoke to Dalia. She said that she could fit me in immediately if I could make it there in 30 minutes (which was perfect) so we went. Not only did they honor their Unilocal discount, but Dalia was the most honest and encouraging stylist I have ever encountered. I showed her a picture of a style that I had once with these really heavy layers and sharply cut bangs. I told her that I was thinking of going back to that style. She said, «Why? This is too much work for you. People would kill for the hair you have. It’s perfect. If you are growing it out and you don’t have time to mess with it that much, then all you need is a better shape.»
The cut is amazing. The color is perfect (I only needed my roots touched up and she is an expert). Dalia even plucked my brows for me… painlessly. She also gave me maintenance advice concerning the amount of conditioner I use which no stylist has ever offered me before. Both Dalia and Lily were amazing. And the best part is that they are a neighborhood salon and a lot of theIr customers are regulars. I whole-​heartedly recommend Hair Team. Thank you, Dalia!!!

I absolutely love the team at Hair Team! I decided to go because of the deal on Unilocal the first time. I didn’t realize that I was walking into this hidden gem! I’m the type of person who is looking for a hair stylist who knows what’s trendy and what would look most flattering on me. That exactly what I get every time! If you are looking for an affordable and friendly hair salon, with all the knowledge of hair given to you by the experts, then this is the place for you!

To be honest… I was a bit skeptical about the price, much lower than the average per se. However, I didn’t want to drive & this was the only place that answered my call. I’ve paid upwards of $ 300 for a haircut at places like Umberto and Chris McMillan. However, I must say I really like my new hair cut by Pia. (Perhaps better than those over-​priced haircuts.)
She cut with confidence :-) and also gave me lots of helpful tips on where to buy fresh produce.
I will definitely return!

Dalia is very sweet, and same with pia! Dalia gave me some tricks for my hair for natural waves and was very attentive and kind. 18 bucks yay!

I’ve been to Hair Team twice now and both times I’ve been seen by Dalia. I really should have taken a before picture because she really helped me out a lot.
I had been box dying my hair dark brown for a couple years and because of my own carelessness with the process, my roots were much lighter than my ends. I then went to a hair salon and asked them to make me essentially strawberry blonde. I realize now that the lady I saw had no idea what she was doing but at the time I thought it was fine that she refused to strip any color out of my hair before using the dye. The results were pretty bad. I ended up with basically a reverse ombré and even the color at the roots (where it should have been the most true) was really orange-​y.
So a few months later I went to Hair Team (with a Unilocal deal) to get my roots done and Dalia told me, «oh no i can’t do your roots. I can’t let you walk out of here with two different hair colors.» Then she told me what she could do instead.
She ended up lightening my ends, dying the top darker, and then putting a product over the entire length of my hair to lighten it back to the color i wanted over time (with washing and sun exposure). Sure enough, it totally worked! My hair color is even and the color is much more natural (and this is all after that first lady at the other salon told me my hair was «too damaged» from all the box dye to put anything besides dye on it)
I went back in a few months later to get my roots done for real this time and Dalia was very pleased that my hair had turned out well. I’m now able to just keep up my roots with highlights and I don’t have to do allover color anymore to get what I want. I’m definitely pleased! Dalia is a pro and she definitely cares about the quality of the final product. I’ll be back in soon.

This place is great! I moved to LA a few months ago and was looking to find a good place to get a hair cut. This will definitely be my new go to place.
On top of a great hair cut, Dalia gave me great advice on how to keep my hair healthy, awesome styling tips, and even gave me a little sample of a product to take home and try.
This salon has no frills but it feels very homey because the staff is very friendly and chatty. They really treat all their clients like friends and will remember your name months later. I went here because of all the good reviews and I’m so glad I did!
