For a little more, you could’ve counted on a product where the workers — many who are young children — and the suppliers of the food aren’t living in modern slums(according to The Times — as many grocers — including Whole Foods and Walmart and more — force suppliers to sell their products dirt cheap, so you get the stuff as cheap as possible while they make a profit) — you could’ve had more locally produced — hence fresher foods with less hormones and antibiotics, and better wages for those workers around the globe — where their resources are truly valued But, I guess you’d all rather get a two-sec click on a funny review for your actor wannabe/2 sec of Unilocal fame, why pay more when it’s really hard work moving into LA to steal a dream, right? Why think of anyone else who exists outside of LA? Goodbye Dave’s Killer spelt bread, goodbye Acure products, goodbye Alaffia Fair Trade Shea Soap. Yeah, I know these are all sold at Whole Foods — I know Whole Foods was a grocer listed above and has been sued by the city 3 times for overpricing, for saying their meat and fruits were organic when they weren’t too — Haggens should have advertised — that was an issue, aside from everyone flinching at their name but, I don’t agree with them charging more for the same products sold at Albertsons, but the fact is that more of their products were better produced — good luck finding cheap, cheaply made food for you and your offspring, at the price of others across the way

Don’t bother coming in. Prices are high so «sale» is about regular retail. Reeks of corporate motives to sell off; not enough effort in marketing to show much effort at success.

I went here Sunday night and the place is being liquidated and will close. Signs everywhere noting no refunds and all of the staff looked to be gone except for one cashier and bagger. Not sure if entire chain is going under, but this is the first one I have known and it went under fast.

This place is awful. How can a place have 900 flavors of wheat thins, but not have original wheat thins?! Some of us don’t want sun-dried tomato and pumpkin spice flavored bullsh*t on our crackers! What kind of cheese is even supposed to go on that mess?! Also, the liquor section is woefully absent of any awesome brown liquor, and the service is incredibly slow. I stood in line at the liquor store counter for so long that the items in my produce bag had liquified, fermented, and had become some form of low-grade prison wine before I received and sort of cashier assistance. Thankfully I had a good buzz going by the time they got there and was ready to fight.

I only continue to go there by accident, I keep forgetting how horrific this place has become. Having the same awesome staff as when it was Albertson’s is it’s only saving grace, other than that the place sucks alien rectum. It’s like going out shopping after Armageddon; prices on eggs are as high as a giraffes vagina, whole food groups missing in some cases, empty aisles, and occasionally you can get the feel of zombies lurking right behind the poorly stocked soup section. I don’t know what a Haggen is, or why it had to come to my hood, I just wish like hell that someone would drop a house full of water on it, and make it go the fuck away… I’m just saying!!!

Ernie makes this star meter burst like an overheated thermometer. She’s one of the friendliest and most helpful employees who works there. Way to go Ernie!!!

Terrible terrible terrible! The staff is great, but the product prices and stock are TERRIBLE! This place used to be Albertsons, but Haggens bought them over. Since the buy over all of the same inventory has increased in price by 10−20%, i.e. Barilla pasta was $ 1.00, now $ 2.49. Jar of Pimiento peppers: Was $ 2.49, now $ 2.79. Whole Wheat Bread was $ 2.79-$ 3.99, now $ 5.49. All of these items are the exact same brand and types. Another problem is, this particular Haggens is ALWAYS out of stock on certain items. Regular hamburger buns, coffee, whole wheat bread, were completely out of stock, we needed to buy the $ 1 – 3 extra alternative. I really hope they change. I’m certainly boycotting all Haggens.

CREDITCARDCHARGEDTWICEFORSAMETRANSACTIONNUMEROUSTIMES!!! Be cautious before using your credit card at this location. I have had to go through my bank to dispute charges for the same transaction being billed twice on more than one occasion. Buyer beware, keep an eye on your statement.

You are not Whole Foods, Haggen — stop pricing everything like you are! Many items seem to be $ 1-$ 3 more than the old Albertson’s prices with no discernible improvements in quality. I would let it slide by if it was only price increases in organic produce and meat, but see no reason why name brand packaged goods should have become so expensive. The store also closes an hour earlier than the old Albertson’s(11 pm) which is not terribly convenient. Haggen did do something right by keeping the awesome staff on from Albertson’s. I only shop here now when in a hurry or for a few on sale items. Not sure how they are going to stay in business if they don’t more competitively price items when nearby Von’s and Trader Joes are so much cheaper.

Wow. Stopped here on the way home from work(5:20 pm) today to pick up a six pack of my favorite Belgian blond ale as I live about a mile away. I wait in line and when it’s my turn Regina asks me if I want a bag. I’m rubbing my right eye which is irritated from staring at a computer all day at my job in Finance downtown and say, «sure, paper’s fine,» to which she replies, «AREYOUDRUNK?» After I picked my jaw up off of the credit card swiper machine I replied, «No, are you?» Regina used all of her lower double-digit IQ to respond, «no, I’m Regina.» She went on to mumble about someone named John who comes in that looks like me. I would have totally went off but I was so shocked that I was having this conversation with this woman WITHTHREEPEOPLEWAITINGINLINELISTENING that I just left. Never will I return. Oh Albertson’s, please come back. Unbefreakinglievable.

A Nice Grocery Store To Visit! Back on Thursday, July 16, 2015, it was my very first time in entering their grocery store and I actually thought it was still Albertson’s, but I guess Haggen took over and that is fine with me! When I went in there, I had some Nestle coupons to use since the local CVS pharmacy had a Very Poor Selection, but I was amazed that Haggen had a nice variety of chocolate from which to choose from and they were able to accept my Nestle Coupons as well! Furthermore, I also want to thank Mauricio for taking care of me as his Haggen Customer! I look forward to coming back there again in the future! Thank you for everything!

If you’ve ever wondered«Why are there so many homeless people in LA?» The answer you seek«Haggen’s/Albertsons.» Disgraceful!!! No stars would be more apt. I don’t know how this place manages to stay in business? Oh that’s right, the world is full of idiots! Haggen’s formerly known as Albertsons is for people with more money than brains/common sense. They have the highest prices I have ever seen for well… EVERYTHING!!! I’m not exaggerating at all. Their prices are so high, even if they discount every item by 30% or more you would still be paying more than most grocery stores. Much like Vegas, the house always wins. No need to lose your money in Vegas just go to Haggen’s/Albertsons! When you pass by Haggen’s/Albertsons feel free to shout out to anyone entering or exiting, «You stupid idiot!»

Nice looking big store. Prices on many items are laughably high. Like you can save a lot of cash shopping at whole foods.

This Haggens is a testament to P. T. Barnum’s observation that«nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the average American». My only question is whether Haggens shareholders will go broke because they overestimated the intelligence of their management team. These bozos took over a perfectly adequate and reasonable Albertsons, replaced a few light bulbs and increased virtually all of the routine grocery staples that typically fill my basket. Didn’t anybody teach these morons that a new market entrant must gain market share by aggressively competing on price and quality? Aggressive pricing means pricing lower than all of the competition, not more. In fact, the only thing that changed here since Haggens took the keys from Albertsons is the pricing — favoring the store and screwing consumers. If you enjoy over paying, you’ll love the organic fruits. If you enjoy the flat pastels of New Mexico, you’ll love the fresh fish department. If you prefer bland, tasteless aerated food, you’ll love the bakery. If you like healthful nutritious foods, shop somewhere else. There’s a complete lack of healthful offerings in the packaged foods and frozen foods section. On the positive side, there are no long lines at the registers. That’s because most consumers prefer to get screwed in the comfort and privacy of their bedrooms. My advice: Wait it out. You may find some bargains at the inevitable«going out of business» sale. Or when somebody with some business sense takes over when Haggens happily leaves town.

So, Albertsons supermarket left this location and Haggen grocery store opened up today(4÷28÷2015) in the same location. They have a Bank of America inside and it seems they are a full service grocery store. So long Albertsons, Hello Haggen. I’ve never shopped at Haggen and have never heard of this company before today. Hopefully, they have the service, items, and prices that make me want to shop here. I’ll give it a shot.

So the first Haggen I went to on Sepulveda I gave 3 stars because it was nice enough. Thinking back to it I should have given it 2 stars like this one. Although this place is a spiffed up Albertsons with the same nice employees, the prices are terrible. I went here on my way home thinking it was still Albertsons, and I didn’t even realize it wasn’t for about a 50ft into the store… Then I thought no big deal I will just get what I came for… until I saw the prices! This place seems consistently more expensive than Vons or Ralphs! I checked a few products I usually buy and turned and walked out to go to Vons since it was on my way home anyways, instead of paying what seemed to be about 30% more for the products I was looking for. I like that I recognized a lot of Albertsons former employees now working here, so that is one good thing about this place, another is that they had what looked liked some good quality(although expensive) meat.

TOOEXPENSIVE. Haggen is supposedly a PNW chain that brings you whole foods quality produce at a Safeway price. Not true, it’s the other way around with mediocre produce at an expensive price. I don’t want to pay $ 2.50 for one organic avocado, or $ 5.50lb for organic chicken breast. Albertson’s wasn’t that cheap either, but at least I could find some good deals in decent produce. I couldn’t find one reasonable price for the produce I wanted… so sad. I suppose I’ll have to drive across town for Sprouts, but it’s worth it to get my avocados for a fraction of the price. On a good note, two stars for cleanliness and good service. It’s basically the exact same layout as Albertson’s with increased prices.

These ***** done goofed!!! I came to this store because I got an ad in the mail saying they had 1.75 L Jack Daniels for $ 19!!!(See pics) I get there and there is a note saying they goofed and its actually the 750ml that’s $ 19! Wow! Big savings!!! I’ve seen the 750 for as low as $ 15! I ended up buying a 750ml 1800 coconut for $ 19 since I didn’t want to leave empty handed and the price wasn’t too bad.
