@GypsyToastTruck Here’s a truck that calls itself Gypsy Toast,(see, toast is in the name), specializing in their version of french toast. So why would you order a breakfast burrito,(the only non french toast item on the menu), and base your review on that??? That totally doesn’t tell you how great their signature item is. Be that as it may, I came across this truck at a food truck and hot rod event in The Valley. They had one thing on their daily special board. A Monte Cristo made with their Gypsy Toast. What a great sandwich., It totally rocks. And because I sort of live in my own world I didn’t get the french toast theme right away until I tasted the sandwich. This is great, fluffy, buttery french toast. And wrapped around a Monte Cristo it’s spectacular. This should not be just a special for them. They could seriously build a reputation on the back of this sandwich. I’ve had Monte Cristos on 3 different trucks and several delis. This one beats every truck and most of the delis. Well Done! Here’s a buttery ooey gooey STALKERAPPROVED for french, no, Gypsy Toast!

I have been to this truck twice. Both times the food was ok but here are a few things you can accomplish while you wait for your food: 1) Get a tan. Turn over after 20 minutes to keep it even. 2) Read War and Peace. 3) Evolve from monkeys. 4) Crochet a scale model of the Eiffel Tower.

Mediocre bacon burrito. Dry yet buttery tortilla, undercooked potato, bacon, eggs, and jack and cheddar. All yours for $ 6.

The Gypsy Toast truck came out to our office this morning so our boss could buy us breakfast. The truck’s menu is available on their website and it’s a fairly simple listing of various types of French Toast and a breakfast burrito. Having recently cut back on empty carbs, I opted for the burrito. What I got was a deliciously spicy mixture of scrambled eggs and chorizo wrapped in a somewhat flavorless flour tortilla. Whereas I was initially surprised by the relatively small size of the burrito, it proved to be filling and a worthwhile use of my breakfast calories. There was more chorizo than egg, and though cheese was listed as an ingredient on the menu board, I didn’t really taste any over the delightfully spicy chorizo. Another surprising bonus was the almost complete lack of chorizo grease. Served with a small cup of forgettable salsa, the Gypsy Burrito was a satisfying breakfast choice on an otherwise French Toast dominated menu. For $ 5 you could do a lot worse for breakfast off a truck. Maybe after the holiday eating season is over, I’ll try the French Toast. :)
