I recently became a fan of Guess, but not anymore. Even though I’ve only spent about $ 1,000 total, it’s $ 1,000 too much for such poor customer service. Clearly Guess does not place any value in customer service because after chatting live with a customer disservice rep, and calling their 800 number, nobody can help me reset my account or give me a straight answer why my account is flagged as criminal, and that my money is no good unless I first purchase a giftcard at a store. Ladies, you know that feeling when you miss out on buying that dress you were waiting to go on sale, and then several months later you’re given a 2nd chance? That was me this morning. I picked the dress and the jewelry, and when I was ready to check out and apply my loyalty points, I learned that my account was flagged and I was told I will never be able to make a purchase on ever without first purchasing a giftcard at a store. The worst part is neither the live chat rep nor the phone rep could give me a straight answer on why my account is restricted to giftcard payment only. To make things even more insulting is the first time I called the folks hung up on me. I’m in B2B sales, so I have patience and professionalism when it comes to giving businesses a chance to fix the situation, but Guess has completely failed this. Because I used to work retail, I can appreciate the work of low-wage customer service positions; therefore I go out of my way to compliment good customer service. In this case however I will go out of my way to broadcast this terrible experience because I truly feel Guess missed the mark and yet the customer disservice reps wouldn’t even try to make things right. There is no brand in this world that is worth the trouble Guess wants to put me through to purchase their merchandise. I even get better treatment from sole proprietors on ebay and etsy. Incroyable! I thought about writing the CEO, Mr. Marciano, but if his customer service supervisor is trained with this level of customer disservice, it is safe to assume he is compliant with this conduct and a small customer like me would be completely ignored. This store is so exceptional I just have to share. I have been coming to this location for quite some time and it is by far my favorite store to shop at. I come here for accessories, shoes, jeans, dresses, just about everything GIRL(other than makeup). Not only is their sales team impeccable, their selection is great too. Plus, they have a really good sales rack full of loot. I don’t mind spending the money to shop here because everything I have ever bought from here is still in the rotation, closet wise. Their jewelry, shoes and clothes are comfortable and hold up really well. Plus, they usually have a special deal going on where if you spent a certain amount you can get a certain amount in Guess money(like a gift card) back in the upcoming weeks. Also, every time you spend here it goes on your Guess card and you get points for additional Guess money. Their sales team has the best service at this price point, as far as I’m concerned. They clearly work off of commission, but I have never been pressured to buy something either. The girls will help me out while I’m in the dressing room by changing out sizes and getting me heels if need be etc. Also, if I’m shopping alone they have given me opinions on how it looks and what is cuter. They sometimes style my outfits for me, by suggesting I try additional items on with what I already have. I just can’t say enough good things about this store!
