Always have had great meat & produce from this market. Today I looked at the expararation date on the tortillas we just purchased. Flour tortillas were expired/sell date 22 days ago. Corn tortillas were expired/sell date 41 days ago. Damn I wish I would have checked the dates. That’s not cool !!! I hope the other products in this store are checked and kept up to standards. Tried calling to advise & no one speaks English. This sucks, I really like this market.

Passing this place practically every single day of my life brings so many memories of my late grandma and I walking over here picking up bananas from the age of 4 to well into my high school years. This place is very nostalgic per se and will always will be. Since El Super is just across the street and Super A is up the street, I admit I find myself there more than here BUT since I throw bbq often this is my go to place to buy charcoal and certain meats. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The meat section sells some very good Mexican and Salvadoran style chorizo which is made on the premises. The people there are really nice. Several times when I’ve been there they were giving out samplings of some exotic but unfamiliar fruit or vegetable. This is where I had my first taste of the delicious mamey fruit. The quality of some of their produce is below par. But then, if you’re going to cut up and cook a bell pepper, do you really need one with a visually perfect appearance?
