First couple of bites were good until i chewed on a cube of beef fat. Thats pretty normal for a burrito truck but then i opened the burrito up i saw more beef fat. Infact it was 90% beef fat. I threw the rest away. Never order the beef.

This truck rolls in after the white truck leaves at 6pm and looks nice. They charged 6 bucks for a beef burrito, which is more than what most taco trucks in ktown charge. Burrito was smaller than average, came with steamed rice, and had like one piece of meat every 3 – 4 bites. Worst burrito I’ve ever had.

Ordered the Tongseng and Mie Tek-tek, both with lamb. I asked for both to be spicy, but they were both more of a medium, IMO. Time of ordering to receiving food was about 10 minutes. Both were quite good, not amazing, but i was more than satisfied. Tongseng had a lot of cabbage in it, which I liked. I really liked the complimenting curry and peanut flavors in the Mie Tek-tek. Overall, 4 solid stars, and I will be back for more!

Now you can park at CVS so we don’t have to worry about the parking. Friendly staff, and on top of that, they have great Indonesian food. And always ask for the special, they almost always have special menu. Just check it out peeps.

Great food, bring nostalgic memories of eating by the busy street in Jakarta. Parking kinda challenging.

I had the Nasi Goreng Kambing(Indonesian lamb fried rice). I asked for it to be spicy, they made it to my level of heat, it was spicy! I love the tender and juicy lamb in the fried rice. It was also very Indonesian taste, delicious, period! I also had Tongseng(Indonesian lamb soup) this one was amazing! I also told them to make it spicy, and of course they hooked it up, SPICY. They give lots of lamb, soft and tender. Plus the soup was very tasty with a lot of sweet soy sauce in it. It was sweet and salty all together, perfectly combined. I just love it. I will be coming back for more of Gowess, indeed! They cooked these two foods just like how I will find them in Indonesia, for sure.

If you are tired of the mainstream indonesian restaurants or just simply looking for a great indonesian cuisine for a great price, this is your spot! Peeps there are super nice, food is super delish, on top of that, this is a very comfy spot to just sit with friends and enjoy the scenery around it while you talk about some non sense. But dont take my words for it, go check it out yourself!

Oh yay I’m the first reviewer :) Ok calling ALLINDONESIANFOODLOVER, this is A MUSTTRY! Disclaimer: As of last weekend, if you come to Gowess Food Truck, you would only see that they sell Taco and Burrito. You would see no menu for the Indonesian food, you may need to ask them. From the means of word-of-mouth and social media, we learned that the owner is Indonesian and they make BOMBINDONESIANFOOD! This is what we learned from them over the weekend: DAILYMENU: 1. Tongseng Kambing(Lamb Tongseng) Not sure what the best way to describe Tongseng, but it’s sort of a traditional Indonesian curry. You may have the option to make it spicy(that’s how Indonesian eat it). To my believe, you may choose different meat such as Chicken, but traditionally it comes with Lamb. You will eat this with steam rice and some of the ‘emping’ crackers made of melinjo or belinjo(gnetum gnemon) nut. 2. Nasi Goreng Kambing(Lamb Fried Rice) Another one of Indonesian famous dish. Good stuff, also very traditionally taste. You also have the option to make it spicy, and choose different kind of meat. However, the Lamb Fried Rice seems to be their specialty, and it’s a rare find in Los Angeles area. SPECIALMENU, to my understanding, they rotate and have different kind — Ketoprak (from wiki) Ketoprak consists of sliced fried tofu, steamed rice cake(lontong or ketupat), sliced cabbage and cucumber, bihun(thin rice vermicelli), bean sprouts, served in peanut sauce, topped with krupuk and fried shallots. Very similar to Gado2 or Lotek. This is also a rare find in LA area. — Fried Fish with Steam Rice This is not just any regular Fried Fish, this one tops with sambal terasi(Indonesian chili paste). Served with Steam Rice, although we’re a bit disappointed by the small portion, but it also tasted BOMB. — Mie Tek2(Fried Noodle Street Food Style) Didn’t try, but a friend of mine did. It looked bomb as well — Nasi Uduk (from wiki) Nasi uduk is made by cooking rice soaked in coconut milk instead of water, along with clove, cassia bark, and lemongrass to add aroma. Didn’t try either, saw posting from Instagram of a friend of mine To top it off, we love the settings of the area surrounding. They are right in front of the Chase Bank, which are two high rises buildings. WILLDEFINITELYCOMEBACK. They’re there 7 days a week, from 5.30 pm to 11pm ish. Give them a call first before you go just in case they’re not there(213) 675‑4519 SELAMATMAKAN!
