They close this store on Oct 172015, Sat. They will move to 400 S. Western but store is not ready yet. Owner said it will be opened in Spring 2016. Until then you can go Wool Um Ma restaurant in HK mart instead.(Run by same owner. 124 N. Western)

I come here when my coworkers and I can’t decide on what to eat for lunch. They have a good variety of all the traditional Korean street foods. The servers are fairly nice and the place itself is clean.

Best kimbap in LA! Their kimbap has minimal rice(still very tasty, but I usually don’t like too much rice in most kimbaps) and a lot of goodness inside!!!

I gave them another chance and I’m glad I did because their tuna volume is back up in the rolls. Yay.

the kimbap is sooo yummy. I ordered one of the soups to go for a friend but ended up eating it myself. I don’t know the korean name but it was delicious! not helpful, i know. i think it was the number 6 on the menu.

Decent. The spicy rice cakes has good flavor but not enough rice cakes. Too many onion and fish cakes. The fish cake soup is refreshing cause of the jalapeño but lack depth. Kimbap is okay. too much meat for me; I prefer a bit more balance.

Great casual place for korean spicy rice cake + kimbap! Came here with two friends, ordered one spicy rice cake($ 9) + ramen noodles on the side($ 3) + tuna kimbap($ 7). Pretty plentiful for three girls to share and left some belly room for dessert :) The food and the price was pretty good. Décor wise, it isn’t somewhere to go on a date, but it’s a homey, casual sit-in place. There’s parking available outside, but if there isn’t, there’s street parking outside and it’s also pretty close to Madang Plaza, where you can park there and get some desserts at Caffe Bene, Paris Baguette, Boba Time, or Tom & Tom Coffee, and get parking for free.

Their tuna kimbap is still good but their kimchi kimbap is too sweet.

Great place for bunsik! For a group of five girls, we usually get the bulgogi dub-bab(bulgogi and rice), jjol-myun, sausage kimbap, and seafood kalgooksoo. The portions are on the larger side, so it definitely works! The valet guy is nice about letting you park and pick up food if you are to-go-ing, which you should because the parking lot is insane. Their banchan is also good! Yay!

Try the tuna kimbap and ddukbokki. I’m glad I found this place since I don’t know too many places that sell good kimbap in ktown.

mmmmm kimbap! It’s a great way to grab a quick, simple, korean meal. This is what korean students typically eat after school with their friends in Korea-«kimbap and ddukbbokki». They have a wide selection of kimbap: Tuna, Sesame Seed, Avocado, Beef, Sausage, and Cheese. I might be missing a couple. I recommend their Tuna and Avocado. Their Ddukbbokki is pretty good. I have pretty high standards for my ddukbbokki because I’ve had some amazing ones at the country of its origin haha but it’s good here. You won’t regret it if you get it. Their«mur mandoo» is good too. This place is very quick, clean, and efficient. Just dive in and pick up some food to go. Don’t really recommend dining in here.

Love getting to-go orders from this place for a quick meal! The number on Unilocal for this place is wrong. Correction: 213−380−2174

This is my go-to Kimbap place in Koreatown. Whenever I am craving a simple roll of Kimbap, I make my way here because they’re fast, consistent, and clean. When they run out of the choices, you just tell them what you want and they’ll have it for you in two minutes. This place is cash only unless you purchase $ 10+. There have been times I had to get two kimbaps because each container of it is less than $ 10. It’s fine though because it doesn’t go bad very quickly so I can have it the next day. Think two lines of Kimbap for around $ 6 – 7. My favorite USED to be beef but I have obsessed with their tuna Kimbap because it has perilla(sesame) leaf which goes really well with the tuna to give a little texture and crunch to an otherwise mushy Kimbap. I haven’t had their Kimbap in a while due to my no-carb rule, but when I am off of this torture diet, I’ll be sure to hit this place up for their yummy options! (Parking is a pain — even street parking is near impossible. They do have a valet option, though.)

This place has a crazy long name but it’s a very popular place for kimbap which the internet describes as «Korean sushi rolls.» The kimbaps here are pre-made but the kitchen staff replenishes the supply throughout the day. Most varieties of kimbaps here are $ 6 or $ 7 which is more than the average $ 4 kimbap at korean markets but still a pretty good deal. The two rolls are quite large though. For this hungry hungry hippo, the rolls are more than one meal, but not quite two meals. I usually have 6 or 7 pieces leftover. I really want to try their«cheese kimbap» but they never have any when I go. I am dying to know what kind of cheese they use. The last time I went,(8÷19÷13) they had avocado kimbap. Since avocado makes everything butter, err I mean better, I had to get this. In addition to the avocado chunk, it had the usual egg, spinach, fish cake and carrot. I would order it again. Tip: there is a $ 10 minimum to use your credit card so either bring cash or order 2 kimbaps.

Yay! They opened a second location closer to me inside Rodeo Galleria: This is my go-to gimbap(korean roll) joint. They used to be located inside of Gaju Mahket aka California market on Western and 4th, hence the name. I love the tuna and the cheese. The kimchi once in awhile. Ok fine, I admit that I like all of the gimbap varieties! The gimbap here is not fancy or innovative, but each roll is dense and packed tight, and cut thicker than the competition(Awoolim, Popeye, and the ones inside any Korean market.) A box contains 3 lines of gimbap and is sure to make a satisfying meal(and a half) for one. I have not tried most of the other offerings here. Friends seem to always reorder the ddukbokki(spicy rice cake) as well as their as udon noodles and yookgaejang(spicy shredded beef soup.) There are more reviews at two other listings, but I wrote mine here since the romanization is most accurate: P. S. Despite the glorious gimbap, I do recall that their nengmyun(cold noodle) sucks. Not sure if it’s even on the menu anymore.

I had Tuna gim bap and spicy rice cake(Aka dduck bok gi). Satisfaction! It has been such a long time since I had food that satisfied me this much. I don’t know. My taste might be too cheap and fobbish. But as far as the overall food is concerned, Gaju Hansik food deserves a better rating than 5 star fancy restaurants. $ 14 for Tuna gim bap and spicy rice cake. The portion was huge! It lasted four meals. What is not to love?
