If u live in LA. You know a fruit cart guy is like the Hollywood sign. U may not visit everyday but it’s nice to know you can. I love the chili powder on the tropical fruit. If you buy a small thing of cut up fruit at the store. It’s like 7 bux and it’s not fresh. You can choose how many fruits you want mixed in and it is usually around 5.00 for any of these carts.

Mexicans may know how to do fruit, but this guy gave my wife food poisening! We thought about it a week later and realized(duh) — it doesn’t matter how much ice he might have in that thing if the fruit is cut up outside and its 100 degrees outside!

Mexicans know how to do fruit. Cut it up fresh and then cover it in salt, lime juice, and chile. My only qualms with this place are that it’s not open late(not that I blame him), and that I rarely want fruit after a few drinks. Choices include coconut, cucumber, mango, watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, and orange.

there are two types of people in los angeles; those who pull over for the sweet and spicy treats from fruit cart guy and those who eventually will. its a pretty simple transaction. they usually have a variety of fresh fruits(mango, jicima, watermelon, cantelope and pineapple) 1. tell them how many types of fruit you want(1 – 5), usually $ 5 for round the world 2. they cut up the fruit fresh, throw them in a bag and add lime juice and pico de gallo(i like the theater of freshly crushed limes although some of the cheaper outfits are using spray bottles). don’t be scared of this, it’s not too hot you gringo. if you eat it any other way you deserve the look of shame while realizing you just bought a fruit cup in a bag. i would give it 5 stars, but parking is a bitch behind the bank. fruit cart guy #2 at york and ave 62 is pretty good also, but lime juice in a spray bottle. you can also try bacon hot dog guy( ) just down the street in front of the bank of america atm’s(although parking is like a turkish prison on visiting day) if you are into serious street eating you should keep a lookout for mayo corn on the cob guy. we found one on a recent day trip to oxnard, and is occasionally spotted in the la area. especially on weekends and at street fairs. the beauty of corncob guy’s outfit is that he spreads the mayo with the paper plate that you use to hold your delicious treat. like the fruit cart guy, make sure you go ’round the world’. mayo, pico de gallo, lime juice spray, and parmesan cheese. lookout pinkberry
