Difficult parking, friendly staff. Great fried pollock and savory teriyaki chicken, tangy(but kinda greasy) orange chicken.

I mostly come for their combination won ton soup, but I’ve had a couple of their other items. It’s a typical fast food Chinese take out joint, very much like Panda Express, but probably better. They have the typical to go items such as fried rice, chow mein, beef and broccoli and etc. I absolutely love their wonton soup, though. You have the option of ordering the won ton soup with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp or all of the above. I usually get all meats just cause I’m such a fatty and it just taste great. The broth has a clean taste to it. The wontons itself have a good amount of filling. The workers are super friendly and nice. I wish that people would be realistic in their expectations from a Chinese fast food. Obviously, food isn’t going to taste exactly like a 5 star restaurant or even a sit down meal. However, it’s still pretty good.

So I was really hungry and was craving for some«fried rice.» So I was like OK, I’ll try this place. So yeah… I did half noodles half rice and half the orange and tangerine chicken. OK, seriously… the noodles were so dry and bland, I felt like I was eating cardboard. The rice was just plain yuck. The chicken were overbreaded and there was very little meat inside. If you feel like eating nothing but non-nutritional carbs, then this is the right place for you. Otherwise, you’re better off eating something else. The food here made me sick. Advice to management: try and make the food at least fresh… it looks like they were left overs from yesterday…

I recently came to this restaurant and tried their tangerine chicken and it was delicious! I haven’t tried their famous jalapeño chicken but will do on my next visit!

– Good food – Good portions – Heads up, CASHONLY – Heads up, NOPUBLICBATHROOM. None in stores around it either. Closest public bathroom one block away. – Combo B, C(2 or more enterees) include free optional egg drop soup. In addition to the entrees. Nice – Few veggie options – there was chicken in egg drop soup. Meh

This place is my favorite chinese place. All of their food are delicious. My top 3 is their fried chicken with jalapeño ive never tasted anything like this, i tried eating other fried chicken jalapeños from other places but its nothing compared to this place. My 2nd favorite is their chicken teriyake, its so tastyyyyy i dnt care how much sodium they have in there its super yummy, and the 3rd one is the black pepper pork ribs. I dont live close by, or work close by just one time i went to the hospital and ran to this place and then i got super addicted. Must try place. Also, the owners are so nice.

Tried Fried Rice Express for the first time last week. my coworker got the wonton soup which is made when you order it, the broth was actually realllly good, and the wontons were more than just wonton skin, they actually had a decent amount of filling in them. I got the 3 items to go. the fried rice was okay, and the noodles were a little mushy/overcooked – I was not a fan. However, the house special chicken was delicious – it was deep fried with a good crunch. The only downside is that they cut against the bone so beware of small bone shards in your food. I also got the chicken string beans and the pork ribs with black pepper – they were all tasty too. If they could just fix their fried rice and noodles and keep the chicken pieces whole(or at least rinse so that there are no bone shards) – this would definitely be a five star review.

TERRIBLEPLACE. Even tho I saw flies, I was still down to eat. I got a combo B. Chowmein was very dry. For a place called ‘Fried Rice Express’ the fried was the worst! It was just regular rice with peas and carrots and no egg. The food was room temperature. I’m usually not picky with hole in the wall places, but this place was NOT worth it. Didn’t even finish my food. I do not recommend.

A small familly-owned restaurant next to LAC hospital and USCHS Campus. I ordered the 2 item combo with noodles, tangerine chicken and bbq pork. Everything was great, but the pork was a little tough to chew. Plus the price was great for such a huge portion of food. The lady serving me was very friendly and offered me samples of chicken dishes. I will definetely come back again for their house special chicken.

Environment: Small restaurant in a center with other restaurants. It seemed like a quick stop and go type place. The tables felt a little cramped. Food: The food was ok. I had the orange chicken, broccoli beef, white rice and chow mein. It was all just ok. The beef was cut pretty thick for my taste. The flavors overall weren’t bad but I wouldn’t go again.

I love this place hands down! Whenever I’m around the area I have to grab some to go. The younger lady in the front(I think her name is Cathy) is always pleasant and remembers my name and regular order. I’ve been coming here for quite some time, the price is decent, service is superb, and food is flavorful.

I went there for the 1st time last night for some take out after leaving county hospital, I ordered combination B. Frankly I didn’t expect anything beyond mediocre, but I was very happily wrong. I got ½ fried rice ½ chow mein, black pepper spare ribs & cha shu– they give very generous portions. I was able to make two meals out of it, I ate the chow mein & black pepper spare ribs last night and tonight I enjoyed the fried rice and cha shu. The ribs were sweet & juicy and the chow mein had just enough vegetables; I was surprised that the fried rice was very tasty and the cha shu(which they cut fresh for me) had great flavor– I really enjoyed it(meaning they marinated it long enough) oftentime that’s one item that can look good but taste week. I look forward to going there often in the future.

Took a break from the wait room at the hospital and walked to this place. Nice size portions friendly service. We got lucky there was an open table for my date and I. Spicy chicken and the chow mein were tasty. The sweet and sour chicken was good but a little too sweet for me. The egg roll/California roll I didn’t like it had a fish taste even with sauce I couldn’t finish it. and I don’t like wasting food. lol.

Fried Rice Express is very convenient if you have an appointment across the street at LA County USC Medical Center. It is situated in a small strip mall alongside four, or five other restaurants including Fish Only, a Donut shop, a Juice shop, and a Skewers restaurant, so you can take your pick of what you’re in the mood for. There is free parking, the downside is that there is usually a homeless person bedded down in the parking lot wrapped in blankets, often day after day. The food is definitely fresh, they cook all day and serve a high volume of customers, so the food has no opportunity to just sit there contrary to what another reviewer alleged. Some people just expect too much, and make totally unfounded accusations. Service is fast, you point at what you want and the server scoops it up and serves it into a styrofoam container, so you can have it to go, or eat in. Nothing worth driving out of your way for, but convenient if you’re in the area.

Hands down, the BEST Chinese food in the LA! The food is so fresh and delicious. The BBQ Pork was juicy and not all dried out and hard to eat. You honestly cannot go wrong with this spot! I felt like I was robbing them because the food was exceptional and the price was unbelievable! $ 6.25 for 3 items is not a bargain, but, more of a steal. They also have exceptional service to match their food. How so? They gave us FREE soup for being first timers! You can thank me later. ;)

I love this place I live in El Monte and I come all the way out here just for the tangerine chicken it’s like orange chicken got its butt kicked and dragged down seven flights of stairs and left for dead… Okay you get the point try it!!! The lady who works here is amazing she is super nice and I’ve never seen her in a bad mood. It’s a great family spot and the prices are amazing just like the food.

Let me start by saying they have great orange chicken, and sweet & sour pork for a fast food Chinese place. But let’s not kid ourselves, this is better then any $ 1 fast food chinese spot. Tried the jalapeño chicken and nope, for me it wasn’t great, just decent, not boneless, be careful with yo(your) teeth. Fried rice is good and the chow mein is decent. Egg rolls are just right. Complimentary is a nice touch. Small plaza parking, but you could find street parking as well. I will return.

Unilocalers did not lie! The Jalapeño Chicken had me drooling :-)~~~ You can order the SAUTEED Jalapeño Chicken right off the menu, and they will make it piping HOT&FRESH just for YOU. So no worries if they run out! I ordered mine à la carte, but later told the owner to make it a combo(with fried rice & noddles). I think that was around $ 5.75. My spouse and I shared the Jalapeño Chicken, and I still got sleepy-full from sharing my food because the portion was pretty generous! I guess I did ingest over 1,000 calories in one sitting, which explains why I felt so sleepy on the way back home! My spouse also ordered a wonton soup w/pork, chicken, shrimp, and veggies for $ 5.25. He said that really hit the spot. I tried his soup and I thought it was A-OK for a «fast food hole in the wall.» He also ordered the House Special(deep fried) Chicken which also comes with hot green peppers(not to be confused with the SAUTEED Jalapeño Chicken). The owner was very attentive. She let me try samples of the tangerine chicken, orange chicken, etc. Everything was alright, but I ordered a side of the orange chicken, which I was not able to finish(from too much food!!!) The area is questionable. That explains why hardly anyone sits here to eat their food after dark. Yet, there was an entire(take-out) parade before my eyes from people coming and going. Let’s just say that it was pretty busy the entire time. My spouse spent $ 21 and we had plenty of left-overs for the next day. CASHONLY!

Cheap good eats. I got the bowl with chow mein and house special chicken. The lady was packing in the noodles too I had to ask her to lessen some to cut down on carbs, then she proceeded to pack the chicken too, this time I let her, hey more protein right? The smell was so heavenly I had to let my car window down to distract me so I can get to work safely without trying to drive and eat at the same time. When I was finally able to get down and jiggy with it, I wasn’t let down. It was so yummy, I basically inhaled the bowl. Or was I just ravenous? I didn’t even think of offering my co-worker some. I was like«don’t bother me, I’m eating… They had a lot more offerings that looked so good. Next time maybe I’ll try some. Or I’ll just stick to what I got, Coz why mess up a good thing right? But I’m pretty sure they’ll also deliver on the other items on display. It’s a casual place in a small strip mall. So no need to put on your Sunday’s best, but hey if you roll that way who am I to ding you on your fashion sense. Parking is limited so I’m pretty sure it gets packed during lunch. The LA county hospital is just across the street. So there you go.
