This place appears to have closed down. What a let down unfortunately. Although there were long wait issues, and days when it said the business was open but when I showed up they were closed, their food was actually pretty good. There’s lots of great Mexican food in the area and Frida’s was definitely one of the best. A big Loss for East LA.

I was there today, June 6, 2016, and the business is closed are there are«For Lease» signs outside. Too bad — it was a good place. I ate there about 5 times and while there were definite language and service issues, the food was always excellent.

Was in the area looking for a place to eat a simple, home reminiscing food. Like any other person who has access to the internet, I consulted Unilocal for some help. The place is as humble as it gets, but the food was great! Carne asada quesadilla and agua de fresa for me and carne asada tacos and agua de pina for the hubby. Definitely a must try. Hope to be back in the neighborhood and eat here again.

Best torta ever! I’ve always gone to restaurants with the idea of having a good torta but they always fail. Finally, here, I got a torta that tastes like homemade food freshly done. The beans taste like my mom’s and it’s not soggy. All the other food looks good. So far, best small restaurant I’ve had.

I will definitely be returning. The food was really good and made fresh. We ordered chicken enchiladas and al pastor tacos. The tortillas for tacos are handmade and crunchy, the meat had a really good flavor.

ZEROSTARS! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The waiters are absolutely useless; I might of as well ordered dominos. Terrible. I will not be coming back.

Loved this place! I found it thru Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Its a tiny place but cozy and felt like I was at Home. Everything we had was made from scratch, from the enchilada sauce(which is rare to find at restaurants nowadays) down to the salsa and chips, aguas frescas just eveything u can just taste the freshness. Having a Mexican mother who loves to cook EVERYTHING from scratch and an awesome cook might I add, had me loving this food. I had the Enchiladas which were yummy, my hubby and son had the carne asada(Meat was very tender) burrito with handmade flour tortillas. The people were very nice as well even making my kids Mini meals for them to enjoy which they loved btw. The only cons were that they only take cash and there’s only street parking which is hard to get. Other then that food was awesome and will sure go again.

Recommended by a friend(white girl). I said… what she know about Mexican food… being that I’m mex. i had the Chilaquiles and eggs… Wow! And to top it off I also got two tacos. That tortilla on those tacos are handmade and to die. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the better«upscale Mexican» locations in Beverly Hills. One thing you absolutely must order is the guacamole — they bring all the«fixins» to your table and mix them in right in front of you, so you can tell them if you don’t like something(ex: lime juice, cilantro, tomatoes, etc.). It was soooo fresh and delicious — honestly could have made a meal out of that alone! The biggest hit at our table were the fajitas –mmm when they came out sizzling, all of our mouths were watering — and the portion was huge! I had the fish tacos and thought they were good, but not really anything special — you can get them grilled or fried(«Baja style»). I will say the side of black beans with cotija was really good — they serve it in a cute little gravy bowl — and I thought it was a somewhat healthier option than your typical refried-beans-made-with-lard. Our server was the sweetest little old woman and she took such good care of us! We also had our water glasses constantly refilled, the sign of truly good service. One last thing — the bar is absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s painted blue and gold and is really just a sight to behold — quite a pretty restaurant!

Wow. This place is quite amazing. Stopped by while getting my motorcycle tuned up. Ordered the Milanesa plate and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was. The Milanesa itself was a tad greasy for my taste, but everything else had awesome flavor. Hand made tortillas, well flavored rice & beans with chips and salsa. I’m going to make this my default spot every time I get my bike serviced.

Great food. Very friendly people. Really small place but feels like home. The place itself is adorable. Prices are pretty good too.

Quite possibly the coziest Mexican restaurant. It reminds me of eating home cooked meals in Mexico(rare). The staff is humble and really good people. I’ve been eating in here for about 2 years pretty much 3 days a week. I strongly recommend their guisados and their Maiz quesadilla(Carne Asada). It is simply the best quesadilla I’ve had in a restaurant. It’s a hidden jewel in L.A.

Quite possibly the smallest restaurant in Los Angeles, possibly in the state of California. Smaller than most walk in closets. Like eating in someone’s run down smelly kitchen. I knew it wasn’t anyplace I wanted to try, but my companion was eager to sample their cooking style. I tried to order several items on the menu and they were out of everything I ordered, so I finally asked them what they had on hand. I think they only had carnitas which were the easiest thing to serve since they are already cooked. I think they just didn’t want to bother cooking anything, they just wanted to serve up what was left over. It was past the dinner rush so I’m sure they just wanted to close up and be rid of me with as little trouble as possible. No way to run a restaurant, or to build up a clientele. There is no off street parking so there is little reason to patronize Fridas. You’re better off patronizing a taco stand on the street.

First time here and it was delicious. Had the daily special, two rad fish tacos, handmade tortillas, finely diced cabbage(red and the green) and a beautiful piece of deep fried fish laid on top and drizzled with an awesome sauce. So these two tacos, chip & salsa, and a drink for $ 5 even, I mean come on, what a great deal and what a great meal. Sorry no picture posted, I was too hungry and it looked too good, CHOMP!!!

(Cash Only) So good! I had a Wet Burrito and Barbacoa Tacos. They were delicious! Customer service is great! Really friendly. While we waited they gave us some chips and salsa. Seems like their chips are made in house. They were nice and warm. The salsa was really good. Had lots of flavor.

This is a local Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood! It is a gem of a place for good inexpensive Mexican food! Very plentiful! I had the Chicken enchiladas with green sauce with beans and rice on the side. The meal was less then $ 7 and I was very full. I will be back and very soon. Nice people who work here too!

Short and Sweet. It’s absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in East Los Angeles. That’s it.
