We had a 2 hour layover so we decided to grab food. This was the only decent place of the 3 food options we had in the terminal. We were seated right away and Raquel came by to serve us. She was so sweet and friendly! 5 stars for her service. Food — nothing special but still better than fast food. They don’t have ginger beer, so don’t expect moscow mules. I subbed it for ginger ale so it got the job done. We ordered their Chili and a side of fries. The food came out quick. Chili was just ok… kind of watery. It was different though… it had guacamole, which actually didn’t taste too bad. It helped thicken it up too. A little pricey for the quality of the food in my opinion, but hey, its the airport… everywhere is going to be overpriced. 2 drinks and 2 appetizers… about $ 60.

I would give a lower star if I could. Very rude manager. He was acting like he is the president. Very rude.

Service was friendly and very efficient. Food was very fresh not like many other establishments at an airport.

This review is for Ford’s Filling Station, a sit-down restaurant and grab-and-go market located in Terminal 5(Delta), next to Gate 55A, at Los Angeles International Airport(LAX). We stopped here for refreshments before leaving LA. It wasn’t until later that I learned Ford’s Filling Station is owned and named after chef Ben Ford, son of Harrison Ford. If you’ve seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, then you might find it amusing Harrison Ford’s real-life son is named Ben. Ford’s Filling Station, an American farm-to-table style gastropub, originally opened in Culver City in 2006 before closing and re-opening downtown at L.A. LIVE in 2014. This location at LAX is Ford’s Filling Station’s only other location. It opened in 2012. When I see«filling station,» I think of an old school gas station, but a lot of restaurants like to call themselves filling stations. Ford’s Filling Station at LAX has an interesting setup: one half of the business is similar to a gas station convenience store while the other half serves as a somewhat homey bar and restaurant. It’s sort of like how Cracker Barrels have both an old country store and a restaurant inside. The front part of the business is self-serve. You can pick up a variety of pre-packaged, ready-made food and drinks including salads, sandwiches, fresh fruit, sodas, juices, teas, and sports drinks. There’s a magazine/book rack, shelves with souvenirs and travel accessories(e.g. neck pillows), and even an ice cream bin you can slide open for frozen treats. There are multiple cashiers at the counter. You have to walk through the small shop to get to the restaurant. It looks nice — clean and modern with dark wooden tables, comfy seating, and an attractive bar. We just picked up an Honest Tea(Organic Honey Green Tea, 16.9 fl oz, $ 4.35 tax included), a bag of Lay’s barbecue potato chips, and a bag of Sahale Snacks Sing Buri Cashews(with pineapple, peanuts, lemongrass, and Chinese chilis). Despite a busy morning in Terminal 5, service was speedy and the cashier, Victor C, was polite. The store is convenient and practical. Would return.

Very interesting restaurant in LAX. Airport food is always hit or miss typically on the miss side of things. I had the luxury of sitting next to what seemed to be a team meeting listening to the manager talk to employees about up selling bottle water and extra food to the customers. While I don’t disagree with the concept I thought it was rather rude to have it right in the restaurant where everyone can hear your boring sales strategy. Now on to the food which was not good at all, I ordered the Fords Pub Burger medium, guess what it was cooked more on the well side. No flavor at all, fries were mushy and did not taste right. I was absolutely starving having traveled from the east coast so I ate the food but I’m sure I’ll be paying for it later. Server was friendly and I let her know the food did not meet my standards. Surprisingly she did not seem shocked at all. Maybe my next airport food adventure will be better than this one.

Service was prompt and the server helped make a good choice on the baja fish tacos. Not sure what’s going on with the bad reviews. It’s an airport restaurant, you can’t go in expecting much in the first place. Food was good. Tacos tortilla was a bit brittle.

Pub burger was good. That’s about it Oh and the water tasted like it was filtered. So that’s a plus. The service was absolute shit. Hellen Keller in a wheelchair could do better than the waitress, Danielle. The waitress was so focused on calling me babe, sweetheart, darling, and love, so I’m sure she will overlook that I didn’t tip her. Another table asked the waitress for ketchup, she never gave them ketchup, so I donated mine… cause I’m a nice guy. She didn’t call the man of the table any cute pet names.

Airports are an interesting place. Captive audience that is on the run. Fords’ takes complete advantage of that and really slaps it to you with a high price on very, very average food. $ 20 got me a Mango Iced tea(very good) and a BBQ flatbread(not so good.) Sparse on toppings and lacking any hint of bbq flavor, this was extremely disappointing. The red peppers were the best part of the flatbread, plentiful, and flavorful. My traveling companion ordered the Caesar Salad and added $ 4 for the chicken. That brought the total to nearly $ 20 and the chicken was invisible on this tiny salad. Skip this spot unless your big guts are literally eating your little guts. You will feel as ripped off as the folks who bought the Ford Pinto with the exploding gas tank.

Okay, so granted to is airport food and you start with low expectations, but come on! Five steps to bad restaurants in an airport. First, how long does it take to pour a two pour measured drink? I should have brought a drink with me. It would have been quicker. I don’t mean to be impatient, but if you don’t have bar equipment with you because people steal it that is an issue. I would say don’t offer mixed drinks though if you can’t trust your staff because they are probably taking liquor out the door as well as strainers. Second, again, I realize that it is the airport, but $ 48 for one drink, a burger, and third bowl of chili is ridiculous. From a cost standpoint I am less than impressed, but more importantly why am I paying this for poorly prepared food? Third, if you are going to charge me $ 11 for chili then make it fresh. Your food quality on this one is questionable at best as the cheese was melted to the chili from a day ago. This wasn’t recent and I was embarrassed for you. Part B on this… if you are going to tell me you are going to course my meal, i.e. chili comes out before the burger, it needs to be enough time between that can eat it too. Oh well. Four, burger temps. If you are going to ask how I want a burger cooked and I say medium rare, don’t deliver it well done.(I am guessing on the above I got someone else’s or maybe your kitchen just doesn’t care.) Either way, if you don’t check you don’t know unless I bring it up, but it is pretty hard to uncook a burger. Again, twenty dollars for a burger that is incorrectly cooked is, well, so LA I guess, but it lends itself to two stars, instead of five. Finally, if your management is harrassing your staff… deal with it? Part of me wonders if your staff was serious, but when Carolina complains about Rafael and his«lack of game» it is a little embarrassing. I don’t know if he has game or not, but if he is bugging your staff instead of working then you have a whole other set of problems. Hint hint… fix not, rather than later.

During a layover at LAX we decided to visit Ford’s Filing Station for a bite to eat, due to lack of internet connectivity we weren’t able to look up reviews for this establishment beforehand. I will say that this restaurant is one of the worst places I have ever eaten at, everything — from a glass of water to their chicken wings, were awful. Most disappointingly, their BBQ Chicken Flatbread was absolutely disgusting and only 2 slices of it could be consumed, shortly thereafter the flatbread made me sick to my stomach. The prices are ridiculous and the service was awful, you are literally throwing your money away by going here. Avoid this place if you can, there are many better options at LAX and in the surrounding area.

Had the bar b que potato chips overpriced and not much taste for such a small portion. We both had the pulled pork grilled cheese with fries. Not very tasty. Pretty bland. Would have rather visited a McDonald’s but it isn’t in the terminal anymore that I can see. I don’t know I would ever come back to fords.

If you regularly fly Delta out of LAX, you’re probably pretty slim on reasonable dining options. This one is OK. The drawback is that they always seem to out of stuff, they have strict rules on when you can order breakfast/lunch, and the portions are small(at least for 6’3200lb people). Get a Bacon Bloody Mary, no regrets there. But I also got a breakfast burrito last time, which was good, but super overpriced($ 15 are you kidding!) and I needed to eat about half of my fiancé’s meal because it was so small. She got the Huevos Rancheros, which were good as well, but portions were also small. Luckily it’s only a 4 hour flight to Michigan, then about 30 minutes to get to Buddy’s Pizza!

Not bad with the food, although pretty expensive, even for airport food. People in my party had the burgers. They were pretty medium well even though they said it would be medium. The baja tacos are good, although most of the sauce soaked through the tortilla. I ended up eating the tacos with a fork and knife. Service was pretty slow. My tacos were spicy and my water was not refilled for a while. I had to chew on ice to help deal with the heat. One in my party got a drink from their water bottle before their drink was refilled and we had to flag our server down before we could get drinks again. Even then there was so much ice that the drinks went quickly. Would probably go try the other restaurants available if we end up at these gates again.

We came here for breakfast at about 6.30am. The place wasn’t too busy. I wanted a pulled pork flat bread but they didn’t have any yet, the waiter suggested the BLTA so I gave that a go and I am glad that I did. The bread was crispy but not so hard it was inedible. The bacon was well fried and crispy, the spinach leaves were fresh and the tomato sweet. My partner had the huevos rancheros and enjoyed it. The eggs were perfectly runny when he cut into them. We both had a couple of coffees and I had water also. The staff were friendly and at tentative. I enjoyed my experience here and would happily come back :)

This place made me very happy… then very, very sad. BACONBLOODYMARY Bacon + booze for breakfast to start a vacation = very happy. BREAKFASTBURRITO Bland $ 15 burrito + underseasoned and an excess of soggy eggs/potato with a lack of bacon = very sad. I think my bloody mary had more bacon than my breakfast burrito… for shame! ENDREVIEW —- You can stop reading now since the rest of this has NOTHING to do with Ford’s but I’m just adding it to remind myself of the trip my little sister and I had after eating here. We boarded the plane on Christmas morning on our way to see my 93 yr old grandfather and family in Mexico. We landed and proceeded to have 4 days of practically nonstop food, drinks, family, fun, beautiful beaches, great conversation and an all around great time. Our last day there, our grandfather was feeling a bit tired and lied down and slept and basically never woke up… we lost him on the last day of our trip, making the trip all the more special/weird/sad/memorable/crazy/amazing. We had not seen him prior to this trip since he had come down to LA almost 7 yrs ago when my mother passed away(his daughter). It was almost as if he waited for us to visit and say goodbye. Thanks for waiting abuelito, we miss you.

Arrived at a very time of the day but the staff and cook staff did an excellent God keeping the people happy and satisfied. Kenia did an excellent job for me Today as was an outstanding server named Kenya H. and she suggests a couple entrees to me and knew her beer very well. Thank you for waiting on me today The beer was ice cold and the BLTA was a hit. I will stop by the next time I travel through this airport

Diner style eatery at LAX. Needed a place to kill time during our 3 hour + lay over. Food was high on our priority. As we got seated we were told that we could either order breakfast, OR we could wait 20 minutes and order lunch. We opted to wait the 20 minutes and order lunch. When it was time, we opted to order hamburgers, The husband wanted the cheese burger with bacon and mayo, I just wanted the hamburger. She came out a bit later and told me they’d accidentally put cheese on my burger, was it OK? She wouldn’t charge me for it. I was fine with that. The food was tasty, except for the blue cheese that I’d asked for for my fries to dip them in(Wanted ranch, but they didn’t have any)

If you have read many of my other reviews, you know I am a sucker for a breakfast burrito. So while I was waiting to board a flight, I stopped in here to check out breakfast. I of course got the breakfast burrito. It came with bacon, egg, cheese, potato and avocado. Salsa on the side. The tortilla had been grilled so it had a nice crunch. The burrito itself was packed. I didn’t finish it. It had lots of flavor. Everything worked well together. I will say, be careful, the potato stays hot a long time. It had a feel of a healthier breakfast burrito, without losing the taste. Overall it was very good. Remember though, it’s at the airport, so it isn’t cheap.

Service was friendly both at the hostess desk and at the bar where I snacked on some tortilla soup while on a layover. Id had clam chowder for breakfast at SFO, but soup sounded good again, and it fit my Cinco de Mayo celebration attitude! Candido did a great job refilling my water and being friendly while I ate. I’m lucky I wasn’t all that hungry. I expected it to be expensive since we’re at a bar, in an airport. But it’s only soup, so I was still a little surprised at the small portion. The shallow bowl was $ 10, and soup came out lukewarm. Presentation was pretty, and the temperature didn’t really bother me. I like my heat in a different form! I added a ton of cholula and pepper, a few limes, and it ended up being pretty tasty.
