This place is just okay. We go to this food court all the time and this place usually has the shortest line. I wanted a spicy tuna bowl so we gave it a shot. You can get brown rice instead of white, which is nice. It was $ 10 and we waited maybe 5 minutes to get our food. The bowl was okay but all it had was some lettuce and a few small pieces of avocado. We had to put two packages of soy sauce because it was kinda dry. Afterwards, we were super thirsty. So overall it was an okay lunch experience.

This man is a criminal. He has been refusing employees compensation for their work. I had to threaten to report him in order to get paid. He was selling 99 cent instant-ramen for $ 14. He was paying his dishwasher $ 5 an hour who had been working overtime consistently for months. This business owner is messed up, lacks any kind of moral empathy for the people who quite literally make his business possible. He is lying to all of you. Do not support this business, burn it down.

I’m pretty disappointed with the quality of their food. I was so excited to have found their new location and to have their duck tacos which they don’t have in this location and their delicious pork belly buns which aren’t delicious any more. Their pork belly buns were soggy and seemed to be falling apart. Their flavor was not what it used to be.

I went here for lunch and ordered 1 pork belly bun and 1 spicy pork bun. I enjoyed my buns, but they are way too overpriced for what I got. Each bun cost around $ 4, so I expected to be more full if I paid $ 8 for my lunch… The buns were really good(I enjoyed the spicy pork bun more than the pork better one), but if you’re hungry I would suggest getting something else. I will come back if I am ever craving the buns as a snack.

Perfect for a simple yet delicious dinner or lunch. Miguel was extremely nice and helpful with his suggestions. I used to go to the spot they had at Little Tokyo, so I can tell how well they adapted their concept to this food court

Measly portions, super watery Thai iced tea. The best part of this meal was the ambiance, which is a food court. Next time I’m checking out this Pizza Studio next to it.

I was beyond disappointed with their Spicy Pork Ribs Rice Bowl. It lacked flavor… The rice bowl was spicy, but greasy. Grant it that it is difficult to make greasy rice bowl, I hardly think of that as an achievement. Nearest Metro Station: Red/Purple/Blue/Expo Lines at the 7th Street Metro Center

Flying Pig is definitely the place to go to for delicious Japanese! I ordered a chirashi for 12 $. At first I thought, hey! That is expensive… it did take a long time to make too so my expectations were high… and o tasted the food and realized it was worth every single penny! The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the sushi rice was beyond compare… the chirashi included 2 pieces of salmon, tuna, and albacore, 1 piece of shrimp, and a chunk of spicy tuna… it is the best! I definitely recommend the chirashi and the people are super nice!:)

I’m sorry but this place was just horrible. Ordered the bun combo with fried rice. The buns were hard and dry. And so was the pork. It’s so deceiving cause that bun looks like it’s supposed to be soft and yummy. Was pretty shocked when I bit into that dry-bun-thing. Something about this place lured me in and I felt like it just spat me back out. I left very disappointed and just pondering, WHY?! #SorryNotSorry :[

I used to go to their location in little Tokyo and loved it, specially their Hawaiian ribs and their mac&cheese! Why did you close down??? :/ Anyway, I came to target the other day and visited the fig@7th food court for the first time and I was so impressed by the great variety they have! We got pizza from this really cool place, and some jalapeño rolls with thai tea from the Flying Pig. I got to admit the menu is totally different from what it was in little Tokyo but I can assure you is as delicious. However, I still miss the old one :( The service was great, they greeted us and explained what exactly was the thing that I ordered. I think I will come back to try more of their combinations. Hopefully I can find another of their locations where they serve my ribs and mac&cheese. It was amazing. I love pineapple in my food.

They have decent portion for a sushi place. I add the extra star to this place for a very attentive and nice cashier with glasses. He was super friendly and went in detail of what’s on the menu and he even brought our food over and gave me extra ginger! $ 15 for a sashimi salad with about 8 pieces of large nicely sliced sashimi. My bf got the duck fried salad with egg and it looks really salty! The fried rice definitely had the Korean hot pepper paste with soy sauce and some bell pepper, onion, and bean sprouts. And the duck looked like pulled pork. He said it tasted fine though. The whole food court is very pricy and I think it’s the only sushi place in here. Good option for sushi lovers!

BEYONDTERRIBLE. Writing this review is like picking on a retarded person — it just isn’t right — but then Corky never charged me ten dollars for a greasy sh*tty little pork bun of a sandwich. The only thing this place has going for it is that it is situated in one of the most unappetizing food courts in Los Angeles — so just when you think it couldn’t get any worse — there is always the place next door… and you should go there.

Saw some new menu items and one of them was for the shrimp tempura udon. It’s 10.36 after tax and it’s definitely not worth it. The udon is literally just the noodles, a mushroom slice and a few been sprouts. For this much they should put some other toppings. Soup was also too salty. Shrimp tempura were extremely small so I wouldn’t buy the shrimp tempura as a side either. All in all, another disappointing, but expected meal from the Flying Pig One plus is that the container the food comes in is microwave safe so I can use that to make my own noodles at work.

Really want to like this place. I want to say I heard good things about them as a food truck but feel like they’ve been struggling after planting their feet down based on the closure of the little tokyo location and the shorter than average lines at the 7th and fig food court. Giving this review cause I purchased two sushi boxes from them and. Very possible it was just a bad batch of vegetables but I found a little gnat in the salad. Fine, not the biggest deal in the world, it happens. I probably unknowingly eat bugs all the time. I picked it out and called it a day. Anyways, one instance, I look the other way cause one bug unknowingly flying into a big batch of salad isn’t a game killer. But then I come upon another leafy green with what seems to be wings from an insect glued on there. Now I’m feeling a little queasy. All in all, feeling like I paid $ 27 for two fast food sushi rolls and got a little extra sumthin’ sumthin’ to go with my salads.

I just had lunch here(I work in one of the nearby buildings downtown) and it’s definitely going to be one of my GO-TO restaurants from now on! I went early(around 11:30AM on Friday) to beat the lunch rush. I went up and ordered a seaweed salad and a rice bowl with sweet pork, corn and broccoli. The guy who took my order was really courteous and awesome! And after I got my meal(to go) I sat in the courtyard outside to enjoy it — and it was DELICIOUS! Seaweed salad was great(has a bit of a spice kick though — just fyi, I’m very sensitive to spiciness). But the rice bowl was completely on-point. I LOVED the pork. I got the peanut butter and teriyaki sauces — dumped them both on my bowl, and just went to town. I highly recommend this spot for lunch! I also tried their sushi rolls not too long ago and they were very good as well.

I’ve been to this food court multiple times and have not been disappointed. Until now. I ordered the spicy tuna rice bowl with white rice. It cost $ 9.75 for a small-ish bowl and a disappointing amount of spicy tuna. The bowl mostly had veggies and iceberg lettuce. I plowed through the veggies so I could enjoy the tuna but when I finally got to the tuna… YUCK. I’ve never had such terrible tasting tuna. It was overly fishy tasting and just tasted wrong. I ate three bites before my husband forced me to stop eating it. I took it back to the counter and asked for my money back. The cashier didn’t apologize or even ask what was wrong with it, he just refunded me my money. Which was nice I guess. What’s not nice, is that I’ve had a stomachache since yesterday. Thank you Flying Pig for my food poisoning. You refunded me my lunch money but can you refund me the sick day I’ve had to take today?

First off, lunch bill came out to $ 11.45, which is a violation of the $ 10 or under lunch rule. Let’s see if it’s worth the extra $ 1.45. I got the«Build a Bun» combo, which is two buns of your choice and salad or fried rice. I got the pork belly and spicy pork buns. My first impression was that the buns were kind of small, hopefully they will expand to fill my stomach. Also, they might have been better if the bun part was warm? I don’t know if they are ever served like that, not being familiar with this type of food. Here is what I thought of the buns individually: The pork belly bun was overpowered by barbecue sauce, which didn’t give the poor pork belly any chance to shine. I have had pork belly before, and it can and should be very tasty. This might have been better if it was not drowned in barbecue sauce. The spicy pork was much better, at least it stood a chance against the ubiquitous barbecue sauce! I would definitely get two of these next time, or maybe try the pulled pork bun. I must say, the fried rice was very good. It as complimented by green and red pepper, onion, and what I believe was pickled ginger. Was it worth the extra $ 1.45? Not really, I left full, but with no leftovers like I usually have at Indus or Oleego. I would definitely try Flying Pig again, though, either to try a different bun, or one of the bowls. Do pigs really fly? Having passed by Flying Pig many times and wondered why the line was short compared to other restaurants at the Taste Food Court at FIGat7th. Figured, I tried it since the lines everywhere else were long only to regret it later. I opted for the Build a bowl. Choice of meat, veggie, garnish and sauce. I chose the galbi which was lacking and nothing special, brown rice was greasy(I didn’t ask for fried rice which they do carry for a buck extra), broccoli was overcooked and corn dry. The papaya garnish was lacking and the Flying Pig sauce was miniature. Put it all together, I guess it was my choice of items but the ingredients were sub-par, lacking. For $ 8, I should of waited at Gentaro Soba or Oleego and ordered something there instead. Total fail. I’ve had better. No wonder the Little Tokyo location didn’t make it. This little piggy went crash landing! Bacon!

I am very into this TASTE food court, but like many of you, apparently, I have a hard time foregoing Oleego. So far, Flying Pig is the only detour I’ve taken in my many lunches at Fig and 7th. Judging by line depth, I’d say Flying Pig is one of the less popular stops in this food court. Not what I would’ve expected from a food truck that did so well it actually got a brick and mortar. I wonder if the location is hurting it – it’s at the back of the court, and the build-a-bowl area is in this weird alcove, so the place looks empty from the outside even with a few customers. I’ve only been twice, but I liked both my lunches, and would encourage other TASTE lunchers to give it a shot. If you like rice bowls, Flying Pig can be your revered ricey Chipotle, where you can build a bowl with choice of protein and tons of options for veggies, sauces, and garnishes. I’ve only done this once, but I’d do it again – I think I got fried rice with spicy pork, corn, mushrooms, Flying Pig chili sauce, Asian slaw, green papaya, and pickles. There were definitely pickled onions in there, too. The bowl was loaded up and delicious, with juicy marinated pork and plenty of texture and flavor from all the add-ins. I meant to save half for dinner, but I ate it all in one go. Only thing I’d omit next time is the fried rice, which cost an extra dollar. White rice would’ve been fine with all the extra things mixed in. I’ve also tried the bun platter, which is a lunch of two buns plus a salad. This is not as satisfying as the rice bowl. I tried the spicy pork bun and the pork belly bun, and would only recommend the spicy pork. Same delicious spicy pork, topped with pickled onions and cucumber. Blast with Sriracha, and that’s a tasty bun. The pork belly was not so good. It was thick and fatty, but very dry. The buns came with a salad, but it was a sad salad, the kind you just kind of leave on the plate and quietly throw away. I’m not working downtown for a while, so it may be a long time before I make it back to Flying Pig. For those of you who hit TASTE for lunch every other day, I’d strongly recommend giving this place a shot.
