Flore is a delicious, healthy vegan spot in silverlake. This place is a great alternative to more junk-food spots and everything here seems to be based on whole-foods rather than unhealthy options like earth balance or daiya. I grab lunch from here all the time and am a huge fan of the Ruben(tempeh, cashew cheese, and sauerkraut) as well as the tuna melt(chickpeas, cashew cheese). I went here for brunch the other day and we ordered the biscuits and gravy — phenomenal! The biscuits are GF if you’re into that kinda thing, the gravy is mushroom based and the sausage is house made out of nuts. We also got the tofu benediction which is supposed to be like eggs Benedict. This was definitely delicious, but not really at all like eggs Benedict, so if you take a non-vegan there, make sure they know what to expect. Their juices are excellent, I would especially recommend the orange carrot one. Some cons are that the place is tinyyyy so it can feel cramped and crowded easily. Also parking can be an issue. It isn’t the cheapest option, but the portion sizes for brunch are great. For lunch, Id recommend getting a side with the sandwich for a more complete meal.

I came to Flore nearly every week when I first moved to LA. The food is the perfect balance of delicious, hearty, and healthy. Portions are huge for their very reasonable prices, and the atmosphere is cute and laid back. Service is hit and miss-the manager dude always seems really upset/angry, but most of the waitstaff are super sweet. For lunch/dinner my top picks are the faux tuna salad sandwich and the seitan street tacos. However, I recommend coming here for BRUNCH. Flore’s brunch menu is larger and more interesting than any other vegan restaurant in Los Angeles, with everything from sweet options like waffles and French toast to savory biscuits and gravy and tofu Benedict. The Chicken and Waffles is excellent, as is their tofu scramble. Today I tried the Tofu Benedict, which was just okay. The kale and tofu were delicious and I liked the flavor of the hollandaise, but it was too salty and there was way too much of it(see photo). The food was literally drowning in sauce. I still enjoyed my meal and will definitely return for brunch many times in the future.

I’m new to this vegetarian and vegan world. I just recently took a dive to change my diet. Someone brought me here last year and I was delighted to run into Flore again and rediscover it. I can’t remember what I ordered my first time here, I wish I did. But I do remember enjoying it. I took my not so vegetarian boyfriend here to give him a pleasant and hefty serving of delicious vegan food that met and exceeded his calorie gain expectations. Service was great, the server wasted no time offering us extra plates for sharing, Saturday late afternoon ~ not cramped, loose crowd. I ordered us a pizza, Flore burger with the works, and the soup of the day. They all combined for a great hefty meal for two but I just wish my stomach had room for a smoothie and/or dessert. The burger came with a choice of salad, some avocados, tempeh bacon, lettuce, onions, and«cheese» on the side. I cut it in half and split it easily with my boyfriend. But I guess that’s why I should just come back again!

Great food and amazing service! We entered an hour before closing and my experience wasn’t altered by that. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a healthy yet tasteful meal. I ordered the comfort bowl and already want to go back for more.

The best tuna melt I’ve ever had! Vegan or pre-vegan! All the breads are toasted to perfection! Flavor and texture… I don’t have the words for how delicious this was! I’m guessing they have plenty of amazing options, but at this point I have to make myself try anything else. Definitely coming back though!!! Also, our server was super sweet and super fast so yayyyyyy!!!

I was dress shopping next door at Matrushka(5 big stars!) and stopped in for lunch with my daughter. I’m not vegan but eat very little meat and love fresh vegetarian and vegan restaurants. A few hours later I am still salivating from the sense memory of this delicious meal! We shared the breakfast burrito, add kale and pico de gallo, and a special, sriracha avocado toast. The burrito was exquisite. The tofu scramble inside the burrito went so beyond what’s usual in burritos(I love an eggy breakfast burrito too), and was so richly flavorful. There was something else moist in there that was SO good, and I highly recommend adding the kale. AND I’ve made fun of fancy pants $ 10 toast at restaurants(the same way I think the rise of bone broth is ridick — both old as the hills and hardly a grand discovery.) Well, today I had«sriracha avocado toast» at Flore, a special, and I’m gladly eating those judgy words, and then some. Gladly. Avocado, sriracha, cucumbers, pickled red onions, edamame, daikon radish shoots, soy ricotta, and surely some things I’m forgetting. Like the best crunchy salad smooshed together with avocado dripping off of perfect toast… it was heaven in a freaking bite. I can just breathe its goodness in my memory, going to have to come back again for other creations of yours. And since this was a special, going to have to try to recreate it. Thank you Flore. You’re maybe a dozen or so blocks from me, and I can’t believe I’ve never been before. Non-vegans, you will not be disappointed if you love fresh, creative, delicious food.

One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to. If you come here on the weekend be prepared for a long waiting time as Flore is popular! I’d highly suggest«The Salad” — simple yet delicious. Very healthy and filling. My friend ordered a chicken n waffles plate. The waffle was almost like a waffle muffin– it had a definite muffin texture. Regardless, it was tasty as well. I’d also suggest ordering one of their freshly squeezed juices. I ordered The Tonic and it was just what the doctor ordered!

Fairly basic food options(if you’re vegan); loved our quesadilla. Cleaned our plates for everything, though, so it must be pretty good. ;) To me, this place is about the desserts. I have a feeling that my next trip will be exclusively for slices of cake. THEYAREAWESOME. Give me all of the cake. Intimate setting and good service. Our waitress came by to let us know she was going to take a break and who to call if we needed something, which I really appreciate — a business that encourages their employees to take breaks is one that I will continue to frequent. Cruelty-free! ;) This is probably a pretty good place to bring an omnivore! Everything was delicious.

I’m convinced it can convert a non-vegan into a vegan… or at least trick you into not realizing its a vegan place. I ordered the Flore Burger and a side of their cole slaw. As with most veggie/vegan patties, it is not your typical patty as it falls apart easily. BUT it was so delicious! The coleslaw is made with voodoo because it tastes EXACTLY like coleslaw if not better. 5⁄5 stars and will definitely come again!

This place is one of the worst places to eat nothing Vegan or organic about. Smells like old food, service was the worst. Let’s talk about price $$$$ not worth it at all and they have roaches.

WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. I’m not vegan by any means, but I do enjoy trying strange cuisine(while supporting ethical ideology!), and boy oh boy oh boy oh boy this is the place to be like me. They literally have CHICKENANDWAFFLES on the menu. VEGAN. I normally struggle to finish«raw» or special vegan meals, but this was the most interesting and enjoyable vegan experience I have ever had. I CLEANED my plate. Were it not for the delicious food, the patrons of this place and the foot traffic of this area of Silverlake is fascinating. It’s seriously like straight out of a movie. Note: The service is very bizarre, but it kind of makes sense? The server was strangely aloof, but simultaneously nice, and even still somehow distant and detached. It was perfect.

I’ve been here twice, the second time when I came here I was so disappointed. So service is really poor. They might be too cool or just don’t care. There is only one server during lunch time. Maybe that’s why he/she was not happy to see the customers at all! The first time I had a Rueben. It was very tasty, probably too good, and a little too heavy. Maybe once in a while it is okay. The second time I ordered a bowl. It took 25 min to get it on the table, and it was not the one I ordered. Although it was tasty, but again it showed the quality of the service. So food is delicious, and the menu is big. Portion is good for the price. However, I really don’t know if I’d come back again for the poor service any more! BTW, inside has the strong grill smell and you will probably smell like grilling for the rest of your day!

My 900th review!!! A friend and I were attending an evening at the Pantages, before the show we wanted to have dinner so I began my research. Using Unilocal(of course) I searched for Vegan/Raw restaurants in or around the surrounding area when I came across reviews for this amazing little gem. After checking out the menu, reading the reviews, looking at photos and reading Unilocal user ‘check-in’ tips for Flore Vegan Cuisine I knew without question this was the spot!!! We arrived on a Wednesday(11⁄18) evening at just about 5:00pm and had no issue finding parking or being seated immediately in a cozy little 2 person booth. Upon sitting down I mentioned to my friend how it had a very NYC ‘old school’ feel too it. FVC had the open kitchen, glass display cases displaying various vegan works of art, including some amazing looking desserts. Our server was prompt, nice, friendly & brought us menus as well as water for the table served in a glass container with tin cups to drink from. I live by the motto reduce, reuse, recycle & I was VERY impressed that a business had the same philosophy. When it came time to order both my friend and I had one question each about the dish we had both selected, our server knew the answer right away. That might not seem like that BIG of a deal but to me, someone who loves to be in the kitchen I knew that was/is a true sign of ‘Attention to Detail.‘ I ordered the Raw Jicama Tacos, my friend ordered the Comfort Bowl both dishes are Wheat & Gluten free. In a short period of time both of our dishes were served and the presentation was brilliant, simple, clean & quite elegant, truly a work of art by a trained Chef. My Tacos which were accompanied by a side of Pico de Gallo & sliced avocado were AMAZING!!! I am a HUGE fan of Jicama these tacos were more than just that. Every bite was something to look forward to. My friends Comfort Bowl(I had a few bites) was a vegan version of Meatloaf served on a bed of potatoes & mixed vegetables was absolutely comforting in every way, shape & form. After our meal neither of us felt stuffed and still had room for dessert. We ended up deciding to share a dessert and ordered the Lemon/Berry which was AMAZING!!! It didn’t last long on our table, we went bite for bite until it was gone. The texture/moistness/spring of the cake was perfect, the freshness of the berries as well as the taste/flavor of the frosting was unexplainably FAN-TAS-TIC!!! After we had our dessert we had a few questions again for our server about our dessert who turned to the Chef/Baker for the answer. The Chef jokingly said our questions were a secret but ended up telling us how certain aspects of the Cake are put together. I love to cook but a bad baker so MUCH respect to whoever baked/created this cover worthy masterpiece. As we were exiting FVC it seemed like everyone working/present said goodbye to us and said how they hoped we would return soon, my response was ‘without question.‘ It doesn’t matter if you are vegan or not, if you have tried this place, YOUAREMISSINGOUT!!!

One meal. I had one meal in Los Angeles on this trip and it had to be a casual lunch. I scoured the Unilocal reviews and blogs and decided to meet a friend at Flore Vegan Cuisine near Hollywood. From its website, I got the feeling that Flore Vegan Cuisine was a fancy little café. When I found it on Sunset Boulevard, however, I realized it was more of a deli and take-out joint. Go figure. Around the glass case displaying all of the delicious fruit, spreads, and desserts were a few tables. My friend and I grabbed one of the few booths and perused the menu. Despite its size, the menu is extensive. From breakfast including veggie frittatta and appetizers including a kimchi quesadilla to salads, sandwiches, tacos, and bowls, there was a little something for everyone. Our server kept sort of lingering so once we were ready to order, we flagged him down. In such a small place, there it isn’t like they have very far to go to reach all of the tables. :) I started with a delicious juice called the Ginerizer made with ginger, apple, and lemon. For our appetizer, we went with the Cashew Cheese Plate. And, boy, was this fit for a party?! The platter came with a salad and grapes along with toasted batard and housemade cashew cheese. The cashew cheese was okay — a little gritty and not mind-blowing, but a great way to start a meal and a nice platter to share with a friend. For my entrée, I went with the Burrito Bowl with Seitan. This meal came on a plate not a bowl and was quite simple. Brown basmati rice was topped with black beans, fresh pico de gallo, enchilada sauce, and avocado. On a bed of sauteed kale was sauteed zucchini, onions, and housemade seitan. The seitan was really good — crispy and cooked just right with lots of flavor. I, of course, added hot sauce in addition to the enchilada sauce and really enjoyed this natural meal. My friend ordered the Southwestern Seitan Quesadilla filled with cashew cheese, seasoned seitan, tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. It was served with cilantro cream, pico de gallo, and a red sauce. I did not try this, but my friend seemed to like it. I took a peanut butter chocolate cupcake with me to go and it was absolutely fantastic especially while I sat in three hours of traffic in LA! At $ 11.95 for the appetizer and $ 11 — $ 12 for our entrees, this place was not cheap, but not overly expensive either given the fresh organic food. I found it to be simple comfort food — not a place to go out of the way for, but a good, wholesome café. If I find myself in this area again, I’ll definitely stop by… even if just to get more of their scrumptious desserts.

Organic, plant based, and doesn’t cut corners. I’m in :) THEORDER: Kimchi Quesadilla– 5 stars. This was like an ooey gooey, enchilada-tasting quesadilla. Made w corn tortillas, flavorful and gooey(not that cheap fake shredded stuff) cashew cheeze, and chopped kimchi made these delectable! I’d def order again! mmmmmmm! Raw Jicama Tacos– 5 stars. These FAR exceeded my expectations. But, bear in mind, my expectations have been low as most restaurants really destroy the execution of raw foods. Flore nailed it. The fresh textures and healthy flavors made this sing in my mouth! If you enjoy the taste of sunflower sprouts and other nutrient dense foods, this one’s for you! Comfort Bowl– 5 stars. DIZZZZANK. To start, I wasn’t even expecting the house made BBQ sauce… and it was just the way i like it(smokey and bold)! The mashed potatoes could pass for non-vegan mashed potatoes any day. Delicious. The kale(and other veggies) were perfectly sautéed, lightly, with easy seasoning. But, the quinoa meatloaf was stellar! It was very hearty, charred(i like that!), and slightly sweet. Delish! Carrot Cake– 3 stars. The flavor was yummy, and the«cream cheese» icing was phenomenal! But, the texture was so bizarre, it left me a bit confused how to even eat it. I tried a knife, a fork, and ended up just ripping it apart. It was very solid, outwardly. But, tasted great and kudos on that icing! Raw Strawberry Cheesecake — 1.5 stars. Sorry, I make raw vegan cheesecakes all the time and this was poor. No clear strawberry taste and horrible crust. Throw some dried figs or dates into that crust and use a different nut as your base(assuming the chef is reading, of course). The best part of the cheesecake was the slice of strawberry on top. OVERALL: Great service, big menu, complete satisfaction! We’ll be back! Even leftovers from Comfort bowl are bomb the next day! mmmm Wishes: more RAW dishes… salads looked weak, thats why I had to go to the cooked side! I DEFRECOMMENDTOALL UnilocalERS! This would be a great place to take a Vegan Virgin who needs to get broken in! enjoyyyyy– Andrea

great food! I got the salad(as almost always) and a green juice(Apple, kale, parsley, lemon) — the cold pressed juice was a little too sweet for my taste(too much of apple juice). my husband ordered the BLT pizza. but unfortunately they messed it up and brought him the BLT sandwich :(make sure to double check with the server! anyways he at least got it for free. I asked if I could replace the tofu with grapefruit. I got as requested, but they charged $ 1 for the grapefruit. why? the salad was still huge & I took a lot back home. my friends taco bowl didn’t really look delicious– I tried: the kale was a little too oily and the black beans just tasted like out of a can. and it was more rice than anything else– so I wouldn’t order.

The 3 star rating is based on this experience only. Normally I would give this restaurant 4 or 5 stars but this time they missed the mark. The food was delicious like always and was very surprised how flavorful the burrito bowl was. I recommend getting the sauce on the side if you don’t necessarily favor spicy, tomato-y foods. Try it with the cashew cheese instead. It’s so delicious. However, first of all we were told to wait outside until a table cleared in the 90 degree sun beating weather. We weren’t given water(asked for it) until our meals almost appeared. The food took a very long time to be executed, and they mistakenly made the BLTA sandwich instead of the BLT pizza twice. Although we were given free dessert, we left without asking for the pizza to be remade since we already finished our other entrees and waited an extra 15 minutes. I love this place, but this time it was a little disappointing.

It’s not as awful as I thought it was going to be. I abhor anyplace that rejects cheese or eggs. Those are pretty much my two main food groups. And when a friend recommended we have dinner at this place I frantically scanned the menu and was just dreading the«meal». But it wasn’t as bad as all that. It’s a cute place — as places in Silver Lake tend to be these days. One thing I WILL say in Flore’s favor and that pushed me to two stars is that I really liked the musical selection… surprisingly it was like a classic rock«deep tracks» sort of thing and it was great. As I feel food just isn’t very good without cheese, and I am clear that cashews aren’t cheese, I finally settled on the hummus plate appetizer as my only dish. It was just OK. I could have taken some grocery store hummus, thrown on a few olives and a mess of salad and made the same thing. I wouldn’t have bothered with the quinoa tabouli(so dry and tasteless). And it wouldn’t have cost me $ 10.95. That’s outrageous. Oh yeah, it’s served with some sort of sprouted bread toast. Yeah. My SO got the portobello panini. It seemed harmless but it was $ 11.95 and came with a side of something claiming to be potato salad but looking like nothing of the sort. Oh, you’ll be glad to know you can sub in Gluten Free Millet Bread for an extra $ 2.00. FML. Our friend got some mess of things in a bowl for $ 11.95. I don’t even know what was in there but I was not tempted to try a taste. Desserts… yeah they do that. My SO got a piece of chocolate strawberry cake that tasted wet and vaguely sweet. It was $ 6.50. Our friend got a shockingly green piece of «key lime pie» that looked like nothing found in nature and cost $ 6.50. I needed coffee so I ordered an iced coffee… it’s bad enough it was $ 3.50 but then I was faced with the option of adding in only either soy or almond milk. No cream. So it was not a pleasant coffee experience. She got a lemonade that was nothing special but was especially pricey at $ 3.95. In summation, the prices here are simply way too high. You pay that much for ACTUAL food made with REAL ingredients… You should absolutely NOT be paying that much for food pretending to be other food. First time. Last time. Bring on the cheese!

Wow. Vegan comfort food. Vegans, and Non-Vegans rejoice! I never thought I would see the day. from the Tempeh Rueben to the No-Tuna Melt it really is a traditional deli reprieve with the desserts in the window next to the«meats, and cheeses» An onsite barista is there to offer smoothies.(we had a kale, and coconut smoothie that didn’t make it to a picture.) Kimchi Quesadilla. Amazing. The kimchi wasn’t some take on kimchi, or an interpretation it was the real thing. bright, and acidic, and crunchy. the shell was perfectly fried so it was crispy, and chewy. There was even a nice cilantro oil. Portabello Tacos. The shell again was nice and soft, the filling was crazy good mushroom was cut big, and there were also red onion chunks, and some sort of aioli. Everything really worked well together. The one thing I did not want because I do not like sweets was the peanut butter cheesecake(her choice) I will say however, it was damn good. Not overly sweet, and I don’t know how they pulled this off while maintaining a vegan approach. I will absolutely go back because the menu was hard to choose!
