Finally tried this truck after two years. Worth it. Fist of Fusion(formerly Truck Norris) has been coming to the Great American Foodie Fest(formerly Las Vegas Foodie Fest) for quite a while now, as seen in some of my friends’ reviews. Glad they’re able and willing to make it out from LA to show Vegas their take on Asian/island fusion. At the latest iteration of Foodie Fest, held in Henderson, they seemed as enticing as any other option in the well-represented genre. My friend and I made a simple order of the island tacos($ 6 at this event — maybe not marked up?) for sharing purposes. We received two tacos with our choice of kalua pork, a simple slaw, some sprinkles of crunchy batter, and a creamy sauce. It looked potentially boring but was surprisingly good. The kalua pork had full and balanced flavor, and it wasn’t overshadowed by the sauce. I’ll try more of their food at future food truck events. I’m sure they’ll be back to the Ninth Island, and hopefully the beef short rib and the shrimp items are just as enjoyable.

It’s a catchy name since I thought it was Chuck Norris at first. Even after I left I was thinking Chuck Norris but I can’t say I would be first in line next time. The food was okay. If they can improve on the food then definitely people will be looking for this food truck where ever it goes.

Fist of Fusion(formerly Truck Norris) serves Hawaiian-Filipino food. At an evening that was also staffed by Haute Burger and Nonna’s Kitchenette, I will say that Fist of Fusion can put out food, fast, which is always hugely appreciated. I was seriously tempted by all their offerings but landed on the fan favorite of the evening — sesame chicken. Imagine chicken katsu with sesame in the breading, over white rice, shredded cabbage and an tasty, sweet-soy sauce. Absolutely delish!

now known as Fist of Fusion AND teamed up with Nonna’s Kitchenette guess the owners are dating but thought this would be a good combo until i visited the truck today… i have had food from Nonna’s in the past but a lot of their best stuff(like arrancini/fried risotto balls) are no more :/ got the Notorious R.I.B. tacos from Fist of Fusion $ 8 for 2 the meat was okay, very thick and sweet sauce of sesame and teriyaki, lots of crunchy cabbage but hardly any kimchi. really? a few strands of kimchi with all that regular cabbage? and the cabbage was bland too nothing added for flavor. so all i tasted was crunchy meat filling your mouth with teriyaki and sesame sauce. not terrible, but i wont be back… not even give another try

Renamed Fist of Fusion, I made a stop at this truck while they were at the Las Vegas Foodie Festival(4÷26÷2013). Not so much has changed about the grub this truck serves, except for renamed menu items. Other than those, this truck still kicks out some of the best street food I’ve had. FOOD Kalua Pork Sisig($ 10.00; formerly $ 9.00): I ordered this the first time I visited this truck back in October, and I’m still digging the flavors. One criticism that I do have is that I wish there was more crumbled chicharon on top. Notorious R.I.B. Burrito($ 9.00; optional chicken for $ 2.00 extra): I think this was referred to as the Beef Rib Burrito before the name change. This one was ordered by my boyfriend, so I only had one big bite of it. However, I might have to order the R.I.B. on my next visit. This burrito was beyond BOMB, and it’s ginormous! I found myself fantasizing about it while I was eating my sisig bowl(whoops!), and it’s all due to the beef short ribs and how its flavors pull everything else that was rolled into that tortilla together to create such a perfect burrito. The Notorious R.I.B. is an ideal combination of sweet and savory. OVERALL Truck N… I mean, Fist of Fusion remains #1 on my favorite food trucks list. Although, names have changed, the food is still exceptional — the quality, taste, and the portions of are worth waiting in line.

If you want to get filled up for 10 bucks, you go here. It’s heavy and tasty. Not something I can eat everyday, but worth a try if they’re in your hood.

I wanted to do a review update as I found out tonight that Truck Norris has changed its name to Fist of Fusion(hmmmm… so curious to know if CHUCK Norris actually had anything to do with this!)… well, the name change is about all that’s changed as far as the food goes. I still got a huge portion(enough for two meals) when I ordered the volcano bowl and the layers of flavors were amazing! Make sure when you eat this you dig your fork top to bottom… this way every bite has all the components one on top of the other. Nice and quick service again as well.

stumbled onto a food truck meet to fundraise for a patient at CHLA and was able to try out truck norris — or as they are now called, fist of fusion. what i ate: — sisig pork taco: oily. oily oily. my first tortilla actually fell apart cause it was so soaked in oil. the pork was very tender, and the flavor was okay, but i totally thought there was way too much oil in the pork. also there was too much meat to veggie ratio making this a really dense taco. all i could taste pork — which isnt a bad thing, but after two bites i wanted something more. — bbq beef taco: bleh. as a korean i was very saddened by this taco. the bbq beef was all wrong. it was soooooooooooo sweet i expected to sprout a cavity after three bites. it was so salty and sweet. i wanted an entire bowl of white rice after three bites, and this is coming frmo someone who doesnt even eat rice. pros: — convenience cons: — food. based on the two tacos i was not impressed at all with the flavors or food. it did not make me want to order anything else. i thought for $ 7 i should should have gotten way better flavors; i get better street tacos from my local taco truck and those are only $ 1.25! would i eat here again? no

First of all, this is hands down the best truck name on the road. As soon as I saw this truck parked outside my building, all other trucks melted into the background. I was mesmerized. Second, I love it when you can choose to make things into a bowl or a burrito. I’m a true believer that wrapping things in a huge tortilla makes everything better, and they did not disappoint. I got the short rib burrito, which came with rice lettuce, kimchi and… I think that’s it. The short rib was really tender and delicious. The burrito was enormous, but I somehow managed to eat it in one sitting. Warning, do not eat the burrito in one sitting. I’m sitting here now and I’m pretty sure my brain is completely asleep. My left leg is half numb and I don’t think I can move. But I digress. The burrito was good, it would have been better shared.

I cannot get enough of the sisig pork belly tacos and the Notorious R.I.B. bowl! I wish this truck was in Vegas on a regular basis. It’s sooo yummy! There are a lot of different textures and flavors wrapped in to each bite and it’s all delicious. Plus, Ronnie(it’s gracious owner) added some kimchi for me on top of the Notorious R.I.B. Good lookin’ out, because that addition definitely took it over the top ;) Come back to Vegas soon! xo

Truck Norris was right next to the Vizzi truck the other week at the Asian Food Festival at the Silverton in Las Vegas. The two tacos I got($ 7 total) were both filled generously. You get plenty of bang for your buck. The sisig taco was awesome, especially the chicharron on top. The short rib taco was even better. I loved the sweetness and savoriness of the beef and the cabbage and chipotle sauce on top was amazing. Service was also super nice and very fast.

What do you get when you combine Filipino & Hawaiian street food? Truck Norris! Honestly I don’t know what the play on Chuck Norris’s name has to do with this food truck but it sure is catchy and caught my attention. That and when I heard they had my favorite 2 cuisines combined.
I first heard about this truck from the Los Angeles area on the Cooking Channel and looked them up and coincidentally they were going to here in Vegas at the Asian Food Festival that very weekend. I made a mental note to check this food truck out. I easily spotted the truck decorated with the cartoon fist punch artwork when we arrived at the festival. Menu items offered that weekend were featured on the whiteboard. I decided on the combo bowl of Kalua Pork Sig Sig and Beef Short Ribs. The dish was served with white rice topped with a sweet cabbage slaw and kimchee salsa on the beef and cabbage slaw/crunchy chicharones on the pork. Drizzled with a creamy garlic sauce. Both meats were sweet tasting, well seasoned and marinated. It had a pineappley flavor to it. Love the kalua pork, but the marinade tasted better with the beef though. Since I’m not big on rice, I’ll ask for more of the slaw instead next. Overall I was happy and hope to see Truck Norris in Vegas again! oh. yeah…This truck takes CASH only!

CASHONLY(duh) Truck Norris showed up to an event I was at not long ago. While the pork sisig tacos were great, I wasn’t too crazy about the price. Would I do it again? Of course.

Mothhhhha chuck’r Truck Norris! I waited one hour in line for two motha chuck’n’ tacos for chuck’n $ 7, so I was like these chuck’n tacos better be chuck’n good. Otherwise Greg get angry, Greg rage like angry mother chucker if not. Luckily they were fast, and they fed me in record time. After one bite, Greg like sisig pork and beef taco. Greg like value/taste of tacos’s. Angry beast soothed by good tacos. Rage gone. I’m not a fan of food trucks(see rants in previous reviews), but when I do eat from a chuck like today at a car/track event at California Speedway, 86 Fest, this truck makes the short list(Rancho a GoGo & the Flip truck) of kick ass. So with my infinite Unilocal powers to giveth or take away stars, I decide which trucks live and which ones die, and I allow Truck Norris to live.

Like getting knocked in the nuts by an old lady. I was really hoping I could say that the sisig taco here smacked me like a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris himself… sadly, it felt more like a poorly timed crotch kick by Betty White… interesting and kinda funny but not really all that enjoyable. SISIGTACO The website description makes it sound kinda amazing… Citrus marinated pork belly, slow roasted with sautéed onions and jalapenos. Served on a corn tortilla with cabbage salad dressed in a secret cilantro cream sauce topped with chicharon. Took two bites and it was so mediocre I ended up tossing the last few bites… pork that looked nothing like belly… more like dry loin or shoulder… sauce was somehow bland and the chicharrones had no crunch, they were soggy. I held back a tear. SHORTRIBTACO As soon as I bit into this I was like FU*K! I got the wrong taco! The wife happily ate this one up… the marinade was excellent as was the honey chipotle aioli and the kimchi salsa. Great taco I must say… worthy of a well placed Chuck Norris slap in the mouth. So, as much as it pains me to say this… skip the pork, get the beef… and if you still haven’t had enough… go home and tell your grandma to kick you in the weenis. Sorry ladies, I’m speaking semimetaphorically of course.

These guys are some of the nicest folks around. They were closing down shop and I stuck around to talk to Ronnie and Co. — what a cool bunch. They listen to feedback and really take all comments into consideration. I had their beef short rib burrito($ 8), and played guinea pig to a few potential menu items. In short, their sisig pork has a good flavor, although I can always use stronger flavors in general. Their sauce was a creamy sauce with a kick that had to be eaten directly with the meat, or else it seemed a little out of place. The short rib meat in the burrito was not over cooked or jerky-like at all, as compared to other foodtruck burrito meat. They went a little mayo-happy on mine, but it worked well with the other ingredients in the burrito. The rice was only barely undercooked, which shocked one of the workers since she swears that most people complain that their rice is overcooked. Their burrito was tasty and sizeable, but $ 8 was quite a hefty price to pay. I’d be back to their truck to try a few more items, especially the mozzarella stuffed burger that they advertise on their site. Again — really cool folks that really listen to their customers. Food has good flavor, nice and interesting ideas, and an overall good food truck experience. Aka — please don’t bash their name — it’s witty and memorable, so don’t knock it.

Minh and I were hungry no scratch that we were starving, after spending a fun filled afternoon at the Tim Burton exhibit. We decided to hit up a local Monday night food truck round up located off Vermont Avenue. After looking at what the other trucks had to offer, we came across this amazing truck. Yes, the menu was limited for that night but I found at least two things that sounded great to eat. I ordered the Short Rib burrito(Rice, Cabbage dressed in a honey chipotle aioli). Had a couple of other customer’s in front of us waiting for their food to be ready, when our number was called, I was handed my order and was surprised how big and thick this burrito was. Added some sriracha to this bad boy and I was ready to dig in. I have no idea how I finished this but I did. Totally full yet happy! Truck Norris you totally knocked out the other trucks with your 1 – 2 punch combo!

Experienced Truck Norris for the first time at Downtown LA’s Artwalk. There were about 10 other trucks in the same area, but I was somehow drawn to the Truck Norris. I ordered the Shpherd’s Pie and the Lumpia S’mores. They made the Shepherd’s Pie relatively quickly, but the Lumpia S’mores took a little longer. This was the first time I had ever had either, and I was very very happy about the sherpherd’s pie. I thoroughly enjoy mashed potatoes, bacon, and sour cream and all that mixed together was quite fabulous. Sadly, the s’mores were incredibly underwhelming and that was disappointing. It was empty shells with nothing inside, some graham crackle bits sprinkled on top drizzled with some chocolate fudge and 6 marshmallows. I think this may have been because the Health & Food Department people came and they were in a rush to close things down and to leave. My friend ordered the Notorious R.I.B. which was really well seasoned. Definitely looking forward to trying Truck Norris again!

3.5 stars I rated: The Shepard’s Pie a 4 The Notorious R.I.B. taco a 3 Unfortunately, the Garlic Shrimp fell below expectation from what my cousin said. He added the shell on is a bit of a hassle even though we are Filipino, we are use to it. Also, mincing the garlic would be more palpable because they were a bit on a big side. Nonetheless, the food looks great and it may raise your expectations higher than what you really great. Look at all the pictures I uploaded. Would I try them out again? I actually would try them out again because they are just starting out and getting their feet wet. There is definitely potential here.
