When you feel the need for some retail therapy, you’ve come to the right place. You can shop until you drop, but looking back at your wallet won’t be AS sad as it would be after leaving the mall. At least here you can bargain your way to a less sad wallet. Makes you feel like you got a deal even though you might not have. What you don’t know won’t hurt you! I usually find super cute dresses, some may be more basic bitch which is where your bargaining skills level up, but I usually find things on the more unique side to make the trip worth it. Shoes. Don’t get me started on shoes, I don’t know how I ended up with so many, but who asked you? This is where you go to broaden your collection. I have yet to find myself a new pair for battle. There are plenty of parking lots that have a decent flat rate, you know you’re going to spend hours, don’t kid yourself. It’s never fun to run back to the car to try to save a few bucks.

I haven’t been to this place in almost 5 – 6 years and not like I remember. It must have been 90 degrees and only some of the shops have fans but it didn’t do anything. I feel bad for the workers who have to work in those conditions. It was humid, packed with rude people who just stand in front of the store and won’t move when you try to walk in. Most of the items were still a bit high, about the same price as going to the mall.

I visited the fashion district for the first time last weekend and honestly I can’t say that I’ve missed much! I wouldn’t consider myself much of a «bargain shopper» if you will however my girlfriend had to come down here for some material or something! As I walked down the«alley» I couldn’t believe how much cheap and knock off brand kind of stuff was being sold! My friends call my bougie all day but I don’t care it’s a bit of a disgrace to the designer to be selling all these replicas and bad ones at that lol yikes! If you can’t afford it then you just can’t afford it! Anyways I can’t see myself having a need to ever visit down here again instead I’ll be on Rodeo Dr darling!

As the duchess I feel obligated to leave a review, so here it goes… There are two words to describe this place, DIRTCHEAP. The LA fashion district is a good place to buy in bulk if you are a business owner especially if you will be taking your product overseas. There’s a lot of wholesalers here and this is probably also one of the most industrious areas of LA. Lots of foreign people visit this place everyday which is great for those of us that enjoy people watching. There are also lots of good food to choose from. Not all businesses accept cash which is a little annoying however there are plenty of ATM’s around. This place is located very close to Skid Row therefore attracting a lot of strays & crazies, but as long as you don’t acknowledge them you will be fine. Santee Alley is like a giant swap meet I love it. Sure all the vendors carry similar products but offer better pricing than others, not that it matters considering everything is cheap there. If you get lucky though, you may find someone selling knock off MK’s in the Alley. Great place for gift shopping when on a budget or just to cross off your bucket list.

What an experience! I see how one could have fun in this outdoor shopping area. It’s almost like a huge swap meet, lots and lots and stores. I mainly disliked the prices. Clearly the goods being sold are not of the best quality, but they expect you to pay brand name prices. However, you can bargain with the owners, which I do recommend you do should you need something specific. I found the same formal dress in two different shops, with one costing way more than the other. Such a difference in price shows me that the shop owners specifically try to gauge how much they can get you to pay. Not fair, in my opinion. Lots of food vendors as well, although noon appealed to me except for the fresh fruit. I may consider trying it again.

I dont come here for any fashion. To tell you the truth, the area is quite intriguing for the architecture. If you’re down here look closely. There’s a ton of detail in a lot of the old building. So many cool hidden features. During the Saturday height, this place is just insane with all the spools of fabric and what not flood the streets. But show up on a late sunday and you can explore in a calm setting and see some of the hidden glory of the old days

Finding and Paying for Parking is the biggest problem in most parts of Downtown. They scare people away buy other than that and a few strangers walking, it’s an awesome place to be. Lots to see, buy & eat. Lots of people to meet, buy from and sell to; A merchant’s and buyer’s home.

Prices aren’t any cheaper than an outlet store or clearance at the malls. Some cute items here and there, but most are«odd styles» or even skanky-looking. Most sell the exact same items. and start at about 15 and up. Kinda hard to bargain when most can’t speak English. You may get lucky… but went here twice, never felt the urge to buy anything. Not worth the hassle of parking and dealing with parking meters… very dirty area(trash everywhere).

The prices here are way too overpriced to be sold at downtown la. Every store had pretty much the same clothes and accessories — meaning they bought from the same wholesale provider a couple blocks down. But the prices are comparable to if you were to buy something from Forever 21. The employees are friendly, but many have a strong Mexican accent. On one occasion, I was going to buy some sunglasses. This lady quoted me $ 5 and asked me if I wanted to get it – while already wrapping it up for me. I told her I was thinking about it, and 5 seconds later, she says that the sunglasses were $ 8 and no sale for $ 5. The streets were PACKED. It felt like I was walking through the packed nightmarket streets of Taiwan or Beijing. The streets are also littered with trash and corners of buildings reeked of urine. Bacon wrapped hotdogs are delish(reason for 2 stars), but DONOT buy from the hotdog stands in the center of Santee Alley. If you want street dogs, get it from the little food carts around the edge of the district. It’s much cheaper — by around $ 1.75. Just keep in mind, if you shop here, forget about the predisposed idea that it’s going to be «wholesale» or «wholesale priced retail».

love coming her to check out cheap deals and new styles and the warehouse prices. recommend using a parking app on your phone so you can find your car after walking alot try a street dog/mexican bacon wrapped dog with all the trimmings bring cash, hardly anyonetakes cards if its a street vendor/saler have atleast $ 3 – 5.00 in quartes for parking meter or bathrooms if you can find them near santee st. … & yes the bathroom coast .50 cents per useage … its fun adventure ways to get out the house walk talk see and spend, but be careful for the counterfeit items because you can get in trouble as the buyer not just the consumer and be care to inspect the stuff before you buy. no refunds usually the jewel on side of my shades was missing i didn’t notice and the guy didn’t warn or tell me as he should $ 10.00 shades, found out when i got in the car and it was too late to return or even find the guy seller.
