Farmer’s Market Poultry

This is the place that I buy poultry from. I stumbled upon it by accident while taking some out of town guests to the farmers market.
They are one of the few places that I’ve found that has Jidori chicken, which might be the best tasting bird I’ve ever had. We also purchased out thanksgiving turkey from here and it was amazing. Trader Joe’s was selling them for $ 2/​lb and Farmers Market Poultry was slightly more expensive at 3.50 per lb but well worth it. I’ve been there multiple times and on one occasion the owner (I think) mentioned that they only get their poultry from farms they visit and see first hand.
Saw another Unilocal review where someone complained that the butcher wouldn’t cut their purchase for them. I can’t speak to that person’s experience but I personally have had them butterfly the chickens I’ve got and they always do it with a smile and are more than willing to accommodate– they’ve done this on close to a dozen different times.
I also just love that they wrap whatever you buy in paper as you order. They also have more exotic, harder to find items (some of the rarer items are frozen) such as qual, Cornish game hen, duck, duck, goose.
Also have a great selection of eggs.
Simply put, this place is amazing.

The only place I go to buy chicken and I love their customer service and their Jidori chicken. They are very patient and answer your questions if you have any.

The quality of the produce is perfectly good. However, when I bought a whole duck there, they refused to butcher it for me. On that score, I can get better service at a regular grocery store.

I love these guys. They will special order things for you if you phone ahead & will package it as you request. I raw feed my dogs & they’re wonderful for chicken & turkey necks & frames & will gladly order duck necks for you. They couldn’t be nicer & the quality is wonderful!

This is the only place to go for chicken !!! You wont believe the difference after you taste it… WOW

After the pricey and precious Lindy & Grundy lost my order of 14 airline chicken breasts, and topped it off with bullying, aggressive behavior, I hightailed it down to Farmers Market Poultry to get my chickens ASAP. The one guy I’ve dealt with who works there– I think his name is Andres– could not be nicer and more obliging. Airline chicken breasts require a lot of work– the entire chicken is halved and then deboned except for the wing tip– and he did it while I waited. Thank you! You saved my dinner party!

These guys ROCK! I made boneless cornish game hens with Foie gras stuffing for 6 tonight. Could not have done it without them deboning the hens& having the best foie gras in Los Angeles!

They are so nice! They will butterfly, airline, skin off/​and boneless ect.
You can’t buy quality anywhere else!!!
You can grill these delights, and i swear the texture and juices are so flavorful and fresh. The way cluckers should be!
The chicken is absolutely phenomenal!
Never been frozen, fresh, and absolutely finger lickin good.
I try to purchase all of my poultry from here every week!!!
Turkeys are a must especially during the holidays!!!

Love this place!!! I’ve known them since I lived on Colgate, a million years ago. They always have great fresh chicken and they are extremely helpful. I always try and support them, although their chicken is a little on the pricey side. I’ve bought just about everything from here and it’s all good. They have always been better than the competitor a couple of stalls down.
