Sandra is my girl! I’ve been going to her for almost 4 years and changed my hair color/​cut several times. She’s excellent at what she does and such a joy to work with. I was lucky to have been paired with her after making an appointment when I first moved to LA in need of a color correction/​new stylist. She’s a magician with color and gives the best scalp massages.

I’ve been seeing April at this salon for years and can’t imagine ever having to see anyone else. She’s the best stylist that I could ask for: consistent, creative ANNNNND fun to talk to. Cannot recommend her enough, I’d trust her with my life– if my life depended on having really really good hair.

Love Fandango! Barb always gives me a great cut. I have short, straight hair and it always grows out well. I like that she listens if I want to try something new but never lets me end up with something so «not me» that I regret it.

I agree with reviewers below – this a good spot for naturally curly folks. I had a cut & color with April, and she did exactly what I asked her to do. She seemed a little bored at times (she wasn’t the best chit-​chatter), but it was late in the day and I’m betting she was just tired. I will be coming back – these people know how curly hair works.

I have been searching for someone skilled in understanding curls and how to cut them. I’ve had bad luck for years and keep jumping around from stylist to stylist. I’ve landed!
Not only that, my color and highlights are the best ever! She sized me up and eyed my needs in about 5 minutes time and hit the (color)nail on the head! My head :) I am now a luscious copper with soft bouncy, healthy, light and airy ringlets. All due to her knowledge of internal layering. PLUS she’s just one cool cat with a myriad of interests. Great gal, great salon!

I am so thrilled that I found Fandango Salon and Jessica here on Unilocal.If you have curly hair and have not found YOUR stylist, she is the lady! Jessica has a wonderful chair-​side manner for starters, and really listened to what I wanted. She explained her process along the way as well as giving pointers for curly hair styling. She did a combo of a dry and wet cut, and did an amazing job with my color too. I also have chemical allergies and have to read labels on everything that goes on my skin/​hair. Jessica was patient and understanding and found solutions that worked when her first choice product had a chemical in it that I couldn’t use. (I have had stylists in the past be less than kind about my sensitive skin).
It has been 5 years since I have had a stylist that I really trusted and I will only go to Jessica from here on out. Not only do I love my hair, but everyone I have seen at work today won’t stop complimenting it!

Jessica did an amazing job with my hair! Very intuitive and knows exactly what I want every time. This means so much because usually you have to guide a stylist in the right direction throughout the process but Jessica knew her stuff right away and I’ll continue to go back. Great location, easy to find parking and a nice ambience inside. Really love this new location more than their old one down the road.

I have had two horrible experiences with my hair since moving to L.A. The first place, which was highly recommended, pretty much destroyed my hair (see my other reviews). The second place did okay cut-​wise but butchered the color. And of course, both were extremely pricey. I was able to sneak in an appointment with my home town stylist a few months ago but had to find an L.A. stylist. My previous stylist recommended going to another Aveda salon so they could do exactly the same colors she usually uses (I normally get highlights and lowlights). After spending way too much time searching reviews, I found Fandango. Even their «bad» reviews were good so I decided to give them a chance, even though they are on the other side of town. I made an appointment over email (since they were closed) and got a response early the next day. On the way there the owner (Barb) called to tell me the stylist I had booked couldn’t come in because she was sick but she someone would be in to replace her. I was driving, panicking and honestly I was kind of rude to her but she assured me that Sandra would do a great job and she acknowledged my frustration because of my previous experiences. Sandra did a fantastic job, she listened, made suggestions and my hair turned out fantastic. I will definitely be returning. The salon is really cute, not pretentious at all. It’s also pretty affordable!

I came in because I heard Jessica was good with curly hair. She is so sweet and personable. It was the first time I had ever died my hair and I kind of nervous. She did a great job answering all of my questions and the color came out amazing! Unfortunately the beautiful red of it does not show up well with an iphone, otherwise I would post a picture. I love the shaping she did to my curls as well (a little short for me, but it will grow out). I felt super amazing and confident afterwards.

For years I didn’t get around to trying Fandango because I heard they specialized in curly hair. Now I realize I was missing out all those years because Fandango also does a great job on straight and randomly wavy
hair. Sandra is reasonably priced and the color lasts so much longer than a home job. I love the great ‘80s tunes and excellent magazine selection.

I have naturally curly hair and have never known what to do with it. I’ve researched and tried countless «tricks» but have never found MY style. I searched for a salon that specializes in curly hair and read some very good reviews on Unilocal.So I made an appointment for Wed. Oct. 21^st with Jessica the curly hair guru and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. The salon is cozy and chic. And from the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed. The receptionist (so sorry, I can’t remember her name) was sweet and courteous and offered me coffee, tea, or water. Jessica was very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs. She heard me out. I have a round face so naturally I’m hesitant to cut my hair too short. She even asked me to remove my jacket so she can see my collar bone and determine how short to go. I was very pleased with my bob, and know I finally found MY style and MY salon.

Wow– I got exactly what I wanted!
I just moved here and needed a new stylist. A friend suggested that I go see Jessica at Fandango. The salon was super cute and welcoming and parking was really easy which is always a plus in LA.
I went to see Jessica for color. I’m a natural blonde and usually get highlights and such. The first 2 times I saw her we kept my hair the same and I always felt fresh and beautiful.
Recently I decided I wanted a change. Pink, orange and blonde! She mixed customized colors in 4 shades to mix into my hair. I was so impressed. Love my new do!
Not only did she do a great job, we also had a lot of fun– much much appreciated!

I have curly hair and have difficulty finding someone to cut my hair in way I like. I looked on Unilocal,saw reviews here and called for same day appointment. Maria answered phone was so pleasant and professional, she scheduled me with Jennifer who was great! She did my highlights and great haircut! Good by frizz, hello curls!

Fantastic location! Great customer service! Barbara is the nicest and so are all the stylists! It’s also convenient to a children’s store and a furniture store!

I have been going to Barb for more than 15 years. She has consistently given me a great cut. When Barb was not available Keith has also given me a sharp cut.
Fantastic vibe and everyone is passionate about the work they do.

Huge recommendation for April Ferri!!! Absolutely fantastic. She’s adorable, friendly, easy to have a conversation with and does absolute wonders with colors and cuts!!! What more could you want? I will definitely keep her as my hairdresser– wherever she goes.

Im so sad, that my experience at this salon was not as good as everyone else’s!
I went in with a bleach and tone with a half inch of outgrowth and showed April a picture of Reese Witherspoon at the Oscars and told her I wanted some lowlights and to make it not so bright. Her reply was «oh so you want a natural honey blonde?» I said «Yes! Exactly!». I have never been so disappointed… my hair is olive green with very ash blonde patches. It is crispy on the ends and the blow out was laughable. I left choking back tears with damp hair.
I don’t understand how this could have gone so wrong and why she didn’t acknowledge the fact that it was nothing like the picture. She didn’t even bother to say goodbye or thank me for coming in. This experience reminded me of my beauty school days when students didn’t have a grasp on color bases and hair porosity. Either the people who have had great experiences with her have been lucky or she was having a bad day today. Either way, I now have to try and get my hair to a color that occurs in nature by Sunday when I return to work. Very sad state of affairs!
UPDATE 3÷1÷15:
Shortly after I posted my original review, the manager left me a kind voicemail apologizing for what had transpired and offering solutions to make it right. One of the solutions was to have another stylist correct the color but since I was leaving on a business trip, I had already colored it myself. The other offer was to refund my money for the service. This blew me away… in a world where everything is dollars and cents, I would not have expected for a salon to go this route to make a client feel better about a negative experience.
My hair is still not the way I wanted it to be but the owner and manager of this salon know what customer service is all about and that goes a long way in my book.

I came here because of the rave reviews about Jessica being the curly hair specialist.
The cut: I had just had a bad cut and needed it to be fixed. I explained what the problem was and to my disappointed she just grabbed a couple dry curls here and there and snipped them off. She also grabbed a few strands to cut off dry/​split ends. Seriously? She was telling me how to adapt to the cut instead of giving me a cut that worked for my curls, which is what a good hairstylist who knows curly hair would do.
The blow dry: I asked her to blow dry it straight with some body to it, since it’s the only time I have it straightened. What I ended up with was semi straight hair with curls at the end. What I expected was silky straight hair with a wave, not curls. I couldn’t even run my fingers thru it.
The price: I didn’t like not being able to get a price over the phone, they give you a range starting from $ 45 – 75. After I saw what she did, I thought for sure I’d get the lower range, since it really wasn’t even a complete cut. To my surprise she charged me $ 60!
The feedback: I texted her with my comments thinking they would be helpful for her. She was very nice in her reply hoping that with time my hair would adjust, which it hasn’t, and to follow her tips. She also said she didn’t like blow drying curly hair straight since it takes too long and she actually used up two cut sessions to do it. Huh? You’re a pro, it shouldn’t take you that long to blow dry and it’s not about what you like, it’s about what your client likes.
The good: both Jessica and the owner were very accommodating and super nice in every way. I was 15 mins late and was appreciative she still took me in given the fact that I drove almost an hour to see her.
In conclusion: they are very nice people, easy going and all, but the actual cut and dry were way below what I expected. I walked out with practically the same haircut I walked in with, which was not a good one to begin with.

April is my girl! I’ve been going to her for almost two years and she always been making me look way hotter than I actually am. She’s like the Kanye West of hair stylists… Except without the anger issues and confusing rants… So like his music. She cuts hair like Kanye cuts tracks. (Nice one, Jonathan).
