My coworkers introduced me to this place. Amazing food. The meat quality is excellent. I has a beef kabobs and the seasoning was just right. Will definitely come back again when I’m in that area.

This is my favorite place for sharwrama sandwiches. The meat is tasty! They come in both pita bread and French bread. This place serves chicken, falafel and meat sandwiches.

On the way back home from Santa Barbara I stopped in little Armenia to this little mom and pop owned shop. Kind of ended up going close to closing time but I had to give what my stomach was asking for so I just randomly Unilocaled close by locations I ordered the chicken kabob plate everything was delicious chicken was probably thrown on the grill right after I ordered. It’s crazy I seen the big chunk of meat normally al pastor at taco trucks out in la not really sure what kind of meat they had at this place but if I’m ever back in the area I might want to check out the meat that was spinning. Would recommend this place for lunch or dinner but keep in mind they close earlier then most restaurants so remember to go a bit early if you plan on going for dinner. Small interior but nothing wrong with that just have about 4 – 5 tables but check it out everyone!

Came here for lunch with my classmate, ordered shawarma sandwiches on the french roll bread. It was quite busy due to the lunch hour time, it took about 15 min for us to get our food ready. The sandwiches were really big and I had to save half for later. The sandwiches were on a really tasty toasty bread, and was filled with meat, garlic sauce and tomatoes. Really really good tasting shawarma and chicken. Will stop by again.

After my mother vented about how there were only 2 falafels in her sandwich and that it was a rip off, she admitted to enjoying it. The falafel sandwich will cost you $ 6.50. However, unlike any other middle eastern place you will get sandwiches from, the bread is fresh. If you’ve never had sandwich with day old pita bread, good, because it is the least appealing. They give you pickled turnips that are delicious as well. The seating is rather small so we took our sandwiches to go. Overall, you get authentic taste at this little shop.

Incredible Schwarma. It seems like the chef has the flame set higher and is using a larger amount of marinade drop at the top of the spit. Whatever he’s doing here it makes for what I believe to be the best in all of Los Angeles.(Jonathan gold declared it as such back in 2007 and recently reaffirmed it status as the greatest.) Not much else to say except I cannot wait to get back here.

Yeah… ignore those bad reviews. I just went(Feb 2016) and the falafel is the straight bomb. Dot com. Yes, cash only. Yes, the owners kinda ignored me whilst they had a conversation until they were ready, Yes, they were super friendly once they did so. The falafel is perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. Walked home with it and added a squeeze of lemon, with their sauce… just ostentatiously great. Go here. It’s in a strip mall, but just… just go.

Best place ever. I live in the valley and I make a trip out to Hollywood just for the French press chicken shawarma and the beef shawarma. A gem in Hollywood.

I have middle eastern food almost every day. The owners a woman and a man are very cold and they look you up and down. The food is not good at all. I can think of at lease 8 places close by that have better food and priced the same. It’s such an uncomfortable feeling to be in this place. I would never eat here again.

This is the best falafel, shawarma, and kebobs place. Excellent price & value to match. There are times, I would make a special trip just to have this food.

Straight forward food. Man was talking to his buddy when I walked in so I had to wait a bit until I was served. No biggie. I’ve had my fair share of falafel, shawarma and kebabs and I’d say this place is good — not«omg the best». Just good. CASHONLY

This places used to be the best shawarma and falafel places now it’s the opposite. The sandwiches have lost taste and is gross. We asked the owner if he changed anything he said for 33 years same meat place and seasonings they haven’t changed a thing. Then he went on to say that sometimes the meat doesn’t taste the same but seasoning is all the same. I didn’t see how that works but ok. Well we just spent $ 25 on 2 shawarma sandwiches and 1 falafel and they went in the trash. What a waste:(

I recently went and the food is phenomenal at this place always. However, the service was terrible. I decided to come with my boyfriend instead of my dad this one time and got treated with less priority because of our age/not knowing the owners. Our food was given to us AFTER people that were after us in line got theres. Its a tiny place and that was very annoying. They don’t have restrooms and they only have a few spots to sit in. Also, very annoying and always full parking lot. The owner then came up to us and asked us where we are going to sit. I took it very rudely considering that they were already late and unfair on getting our food out first. We took the food and left and ate it in the car. Definitely not an experience I wanted to have with their amazing unbeatable falafels.

When I am in Hollywood and I want falafel or a shawerma sandwich… I go to Falafel Arax. In fact, i will travel here from all over LA county for a taste of this spot. Authentic. Simple. Tasty. SOTASTY. Fresh. Delicious. I just love it so much. The owners feel like family. They are super sweet. Overall, the place is a gem. And you need to be eating here once a month. At minimum.

If you want authentic Mediterranean food, you have to try Falafel Arax. My top favorites are the chicken sandwich, shawarma sandwich and definitely the famous falafel, it is a must try!!! And I promise you will not have a better piece of falafel anywhere else.

I’ve been here sometimes and I just give up. I don’t understand why is so hard for this people to understand that medium rare is pink inside the steak. I ordered shish kabab plate, I told them I want the steak medium rare and look at this picture. I hate well done meat.

Located in a small shopping center with small compact car parking stalls. We ordered falafel sandwiches and it was great! Service was fast, but the seating it’s very limited to 3 booths so we took it to go. Ice cold sodas in a can for $ 1. Great little spot to grab something to eat…

Been eating here since I was in Kindergarten, and to this day it holds the #1 spot in my book of best Falafels and Shawarmas. Always consistent in quality and taste… bonus is, it’s right by my house

Falafel is misshaped, gray brown, and way too greasy– not fluffy and dry like it should be. Considering between my spouse and I had falafel sandwiches growing up every other day back home the past 30 years, this falafel is TERRIBLE! Also, cashier doesn’t wash hands after handling money prior to help make food. Beef Shwarma sandwhich has PORKFAT on it. We never heard/seen of PORK fat shwarma back home or in the other Mediterranean and middle eastern countries. I guess it is common for Armenians??? Karims falafel on brookhurt in Anaheim gets the flavour/textures right and hits home — NOT this place. Never ever again. CASHONLY

My childhood memories reside partially in this little joint. Once I had the chance, back in the West Coast, I drove from Laguna Beach to East Hollywood during f’n rush hour to get there after work and before they close. Ya, that’s on some real shit right there. Being in the same state as Arax meant I needed to go. You won’t find shawarma this delicious in very many places in the U.S. Perfectly seasoned meat, garlic /potato spread, pink pickles, pressed down in a crispy yet soft pita. I really can’t speak highly enough of this dinky restaurant. The sandwich makers and cashiers are always super nice. Don’t let the barred windows and shady characters around this parking lot detour you from what you really came here for. The good stuff. Sahtein.

Safe to say this is our new food stop. This place is located in a small shopping center on Normandie and Wilshire. Since i drive down to koreatown atleast 4 times a week. I like to check Unilocal and see what good food joints are around. I came across falafel-arax and knew i had to give it a try. Went in and ordered the shawarma sandwiches with pita bread(but i heard the french roll is better) and one chicken kabob plate. The food order didn’t take long and the owner was very kind. Without having to mention for extras. The owner had supplied me with basic necessities such as paper napkins and utensils as well as a small plate full of fermented turnips and small yellow peppers.(thankful because i didn’t have to waste my time asking for extra) Coming from a middle eastern background my husband and i know whats good and what needs improvement when it comes to Mediterranean food. With that being said we give 4 thumbs up for the quality of food and flavors offered at this joint. The meat for the shawarma and the chicken were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Everything was paired perfectly. We will most likely be eating from here more often. Some cons The parking situation can cause a bit of a headache sometimes.(there is a lot for cars to park but it gets packed lunch hour) There isn’t much room inside to sit The hummus could use a little bit more lemon but it wasn’t terrible Overall– cant wait to go back!

Food 101: How to wrap a sandwich. Food 102: How to balance your ingredient in a sandwich so you have A SANDWICH. This joint have the word Falafel on its name and with that they don’t know how to wrap one correctly. I attached a photo of my falafel sandwich that I had today, and guess what: It was a tahini sandwich with little of falafel, and much much much of lettuce, and tahini again, nothing else! I advise him to take the above courses. And another thing to mention: The guy does not accept cards … only cash … Wooow, and he lives in 2014. What a joke!
