Am I a falafel expert? No, I wouldn’t say that. I’m just into it, sure maybe I enjoy those little chickpea miracles more than average but an expert? No, no. Never mind, I *am* a falafel expert. There I said it. That’s not bullshit, I’m qualified. I’ve been regularly destroying falafel of all shapes and sizes since I was but a wee lad. A few weeks ago I cooked up a batch in my waffle iron creating a falafel waffle or «fawaffle» if you will which worked out swimmingly once I topped it with my ginger/garlic tahini, minced tomato/onion and avocado. *BOOM* There are a shit ton of places out there slangin’ the garbanzo spheres and I think Fala Bar is in line for some credit for stretching their menu to new places. Fala isn’t just your run of the mill falafel spot, you’ve got variations. Spicy, Sweet Potato, Crunchy, and Kale to choose from along with the OG. Yes, that means if you get«Kale Falafel» it has kale actually in the falafel mix along with the traditional cilantro, garlic, cumin and onion. I’m in a very loving relationship with kale so the fact I can get that *inside* my falafel gives me fuzzy feelings. Sure, you could stop there and build a falafel sandwich with any of those but maybe you’d like to spice it up and try a falafel burger. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a burger style patty made out of falafel with all the trimmings of a burger. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with dressing falafel up in fancy clothes now and then which is why you’ll usually catch me on that All American Burger(original falafel, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, vegan mayo) or the Southwest Burger(crunchy falafel, onions, dill pickle, BBQ sauce, purple cabbage). Next on the hit list is that Mediterranean Burger, I’m coming for you! Seriously though, no limits to what your creativity wants to whip up. Take any of their sandwiches and tweak it to your liking, make it a burger, get a bowl, get tacos or burritos, make it a salad, it’s whatever your garbanzo dreams are made of. Check the menu, I could mix and match for days. Need I say more? Not really but I will because I enjoy rambling: Fala Bar is 100% vegan, mostly organic, soy free, no preservatives, made fresh-to-order-every-time, enviro-friendly, and extremely flavorful. Now THAT, is one serious motherfucking falafel spot. THEEND

I ordered Fala Bar delivery tonight for the first time via Postmates. I was super impressed. I ordered a All American falafel burger and Kaleifornia salad plate. Delicious, fresh, and flavorful! Thank you Fala Bar for opening in Venice! I will be ordering again soon. I can’t wait to taste the whole menu, which is something a vegetarian can rarely say.

I love falafel. And this little place is so good it’s worth driving from Redondo to Abbot Kinney, just for lunch. I had the Fala Sandwich, a bargain for 8 bucks. It was big, stuffed full of original falafel, hummus, Israeli salad, cabbage & tahini… all inside a warm fresh pita. I don’t like super spicy & this sammie had the perfect amount of kick(without the hot sauce they offered). Employees are very friendly. The place is clean as can be. There are a few chairs at a counter out in front in case you just can’t wait to get home to eat. Next time I’m having the All American Burger: falafel on a burger bun with traditional burger trimmings. A beef-less organic burger. Healthy. Their slogan: No Fake Sh*t. Ahhhhhh Venice… gotta love it. And I do.

Yowsers. This place caused me unusually severe intestinal distress. I don’t think they sprout they chickpeas which is just a bad look in general, but beyond this there was a definite, Subway salad bar type of vibe inside this lil shop. The four falafel balls were small and not very tasty. For reference, I think the bella pita in westwood makes 5⁄5 falafel balls. If you agree, you’ll be severely disappointed by fala. The veggies all looked like they had been sitting out and only half refrigerated for the day and im not sure what type of oil was used to fry my falafel balls, but boy i’m still paying for the meal a day later. Conscious eaters beware!

The BEST burger and fries I have ever had! The sweet potato fries are freshly made and the burger bun is AMAZING. The falafel is also one of the best I have had in a long time. The inside is perfectly moist and the outside is the perfect Crisp. All of fala bars veggies are fresh and you can tell its high quality. I took home an 8oz hummus and baba ganoush for my girlfriend and we are obsessed. Make sure you ask for the srirarcha tahini!

Yummy falafels!!! I got the falafels a la carte. Fried perfectly and it has all the yummy flavors. There was some hummus and tahini to dip generously into. Also he gave me some special green pasty hot sauce. Very good!!! Portion and price was perfect– $ 5. The only thing is they don’t have a bathroom.

I’m about as far from vegetarian as it gets, but the food at Fala Bar was absolutely flavorful and satisfying. The tacos with avocado were the real standout item, and compared favorably to the real thing with a good crispness and savory flavor. The Kale Burger was also excellent with a great crunchy texture from the red cabbage and falafel. The All American Burger is a decent version of a typical hamburger if you’re looking for more traditional ingredients(aside from the meat). Both of the burgers were just a bit dry near the edges, but otherwise very tasty. Finally, I had a side of sweet potato fries which were fresh and light. Overall, a meal that’s filling, delicious, and healthy. Would definitely recommend.

Let’s preface this with the fact, that in general we are both opposed to excluding meat from a meal. But this was an exception, that was well worth the try! We ate the following, ranked by our taste preferences: — Kale Burger(in general, we each strongly dislike kale and cabbage but this was the clear winner in our book) — Tacos(falafel added a nice little crunchy texture to the taco) — Hummus and Pita — Sweet Potato Fries — Caprese Sandwich — All American Falafel Burger The venue was intimate and cozy, with a couple of picnic tables in the back. The owner was great! He was friendly and attentive and made sure we had enough food. Bringing out more tacos and hummus and warm pita. We had a great variety of sampling from this place. A great place to hit up when I’m out with my vegan friends. I’ll definitely go back for that Kale Burger, which get’s a 5 star in my book!

No I’m not vegan! Or vegetarian! But I didn’t know that it was vegan until my friend told me. Hahha durdur! The food was delish! Their falafel was one of the best that I’ve had. Tried the shriracha bowl, caprese sandwich, and taco. Their hummus was delicious and fresh! The bowl was filled with quinoa, greens, falafel pieces and not sure what else. It it was gooood! Kind of spicy obvi! But for an Asian I can’t handle spicy that well but this bowl I could handle so I’m sure it’s not too spicy for others. Their caprese sandwich was decent, not my fav from my meal but it was okay. Their tacos were really good! The best vegan taco I’ve ever had! Definitely somewhere to check out! Plus it’s down the street from salt & straw ice cream and bunch of cute shops!

I recently went here for an event and I loved the falafel. It’s has so much flavor and it’s not overly greasy. I loved their salad options which is so great to eat for a healthy lunch and get some protein from the falafel. Their hummus is nice and garlicky! Overall I found the quality of ingredients great and the flavor of everything so on point! A great casual lunch spot with cute seating at the back!

Fala seems to be doing well, glad they opened a second location, well deserved, i really loved the service here! The have several types of falafel to chose from and other menu items as well. I went with the original fala sandwich and it was tasty. Portions are on the small side, it is more of a light lunch and I suggest ordering two menu items for a bigger meal. Outside seating is very cute, cool vibe, very clean. Worth a stop while in the area!

Not a vegan/vegetarian, but this place proves that you don’t need a hunk of meat to satisfy your appetite and tastebuds. Very flavorful and fresh. The Sriracha bowl was delicious as well as the tacos and capers sandwich. Paired with some Chardonnay and you have a happy camper. Also, being an environmentalist, I approve of this restaurant because their carbon footprint must be very low compared to other meat serving restaurants. I’m not going to give up meat or anything but I would not mind coming here again for dinner!

I am a huge fan of meat and often feel that if there is no meat then it’s not a meal. Eating here is the exception to my rule. I enjoyed the crunchy tacos full of flavor and topped with fresh avocado and a squeeze of lime and not for a second did I miss or regret not having meat. Their all American Burger is a good-size falafel pattie served on a soft bun. The sweet potatoe fries are the perfect companion to this meal.(And yes, I did say meal and do consider eating here… A meal). The store manager is friendly and their staff is super accommodating. Their sitting area is very limited. This is the type of place to order to go(take back home or your office).

Falalalalllin’ in love with this place. Tried the kale burger with red cabbage and slaw and it was amazing! As someone eating near by said, it doesn’t even feel like you’re eating healthy or vegan nevertheless. Also had the sweet potato fries that were thick cut and lovely. Really cool owner and staff, and I know they’ll do very well in the Venice scene. Also tried a snack up with hummus and tabouli… lets just say I myself have a middle eastern background and I approve very much :) tried the tacos and they were well seasoned and crispy, but could have benefited from«more meat» to it to make it like a meal. Also. Let’s not forget the Siracha tahini…

Ridiculous prices for what you get. If I didn’t have the bbe deal I would not have tried it. Food was tasty enough, but I cannot get over the measly side of hummus that first, they completely whiffed and forgot, then when I went back to ask for it, it came in a measly little plastic thing. I can’t even call it a cup, it was like the ones you get ketchup or salsa to go in. For $ 6 with no bread that is pathetic. Come on.

What a disappointment! I ordered delivery yesterday. Food was fresh and hot. Loved it so much I order again today. Was given the wrong order. It happens. No big deal. I was all else to tell yeh delivery man before he left. He took it back. Came back 25 minutes later with the correct order. However, the food was cold and soggy. Mistakes happen, but a fresh order should have been made. I called asking for the manager. Was told there was no manager there. Suurre. When I tried to speak, was talked over. When I said the wrong order was fine, but my food was cold and clearly been sitting out. I was given a long pause then responded with, like I said. Too bad. I liked the food when it had not been sitting out. Definitely do not order delivery. Especially since there is an extra charge.

I had this place on the top of my list when I came to stay in Venice. I had been drooling over their instagram for months, desperately counting down the weeks till I could try this place. All I can say is, Fala Bar why are you not in Seattle?! It’s like a brief fling that you can’t get over and just want obsess all over the whole thing. That aside, the place has its Venice cool rooted in simple and hearty bowls. I had the Kalifornia which came chock full of veggies and the freshest damn hummus I’ve had yet! It’s always about the fresh hummus people, you all know what I’m talking about. Only downside is that its super small! I’m talking only two seats inside. You may want to grab and go hit the beach in that case. Fala Bar, please come up to Seattle, it could be the start of an epic beginning! Sincerely, Your most obsessed fan EVER!

What a wonderful addition to Abbot Kinney! Tried it out for lunch today and it was scrumptious! I loved my spicy falafel sandwich! It was reasonably priced and the serving was ample. Today was only their second day open and was a bit obvious they were still trying to figure their system out and they didn’t have all of their menu items available but it just makes you even more excited to go back and try everything else on their menu from their burgers, sandwiches and plates! Vegan, kosher, gluten free, amazingness! Cheers!
