Horrible. Ordered neng myun() and it tasted like orange tang. Told the waitress to take it back only to have it returned saying that it’s their style. I’m sorry but I tried many neng myun and not even close. Would of gave them 3 stars but you don’t return a food back when the customer complained about it.

My wife and I loved this restaurant. Awesome dishes at a great price and the women who worked there were wonderful. Much to our surprise and sadness, Elephant Snack suddenly shut down. If anyone affiliated with the restaurant reads this, we miss you and thank you for your welcoming place.

Honestly this is my favorite Korean restaurant I go here with my Family a lot and I went there about 2 weeks ago and it was under construction or getting remodeled. I’m not sure if it re-opened but I’m going here in a few days with my friend and I hope she’ll like it Since I love it, I hope it’s the same workers and I hope nothing has changed dramatically. The other restaurants around are good but this is delicious and not expensive! I definitely recommend the & :-) thank you for your amazing services and keep everything up!

This restaurant is now closed. At this very same spot, a new restaurant will open in March 2016.

Good korean porridge and very friendly service! If the stir fry squid is better, I would have given them a 4 star.

So I came with my parents. We had been starving all day. My stepdad wanted to eat the yook kye jang. Mom and I ordered mul naeng myun(mine with kalbi). It took nearly 20 minutes for the yook kye jang. And 30 minutes for our naeng myun to come out. My kalbi came out in 15 minutes. It was cold like my naeng myun by the time I could eat it with my noodles. We didn’t get water until 35 minutes into our visit and we had to request it. 3 parties entered after us and they got their food(one including mul naeng myun) before us. And any party that came after us immediately got water and banchan yet we had to ask for ours. We hadn’t visited in a while and it seems like it is under new management since then. We remember a time when food came out so quickly and the service was excellent. We won’t be returning. Two stars instead of 1 because the food was decently good.

Perfect name and perfect snacks especially on any day of the week. Order from the picture menu or tell them exactly what you want or even point to another patrons dish and say I want that if u cannot make a decision. :D Here you may discover a symphony of flavors.

I love the hidden gems you find in Koreatown and this is definitely one of them. The restaurant is quite small but it is cozy. The lady who greeted me and my party also served us and she was so nice! What’s unique about this restaurant is that the menu is on the wall. Clever! There’s also pictures that accompany the menu which really helped me choose which one I wanted to eat. I ordered the spicy rice cakes with ramen noodles. Another person in my party ordered the same thing and when they came out, the two dishes varied in spiciness. The other dish was much more spicier than mine. Someone ordered the rice cake soup which was so good! I will be coming back here just to eat that. All in all, it’s a nice place to grab a quick lunch or dinner without spending too much. We will be back!

The food is bomb, definitely best bang for your bucks! Happy hours is from 10−9PM. How awesome is that. I order a lot of food like 5 dishes only cost me $ 38 with tips! Parking was no hassle at all. Sometimes, the waiters don’t speak English that well, but just point to the number and hand gestures would work just fine!

Come here if you do not look presentable enough to go to a regular Korean restaurant, are low on cash, not looking for anything special, and not looking to impress anyone in your party. Almost everything on the menu is $ 5.99 except for specialty items such as galbijjim and the Naengmyun/Meat combos which range from $ 8.99 — $ 11.99 depending on the meat you choose. The have almost all the basic Korean foods here ranging from tonkatsu, dduk bok ki(rice cakes), udon noodles, jjolmyun, yook gae jang, mandoo, and kim bap. They have couple porridge selections such as mushroom and abalone. Recently, it seems like they added Jajangmyun(black bean noodles) and Jjamppong to their menu. You definitely get what your pay for. You will get maybe 2 – 4 side dishes, two of which is kimchi. Most dishes lack flavor and are not enough for left overs. Their $ 5.99 special is until 9:00pm and after that, you will need to pay the prices on the menu which are an average $ 9 per dish. I have a cheap taste bud so I’d give anything that is cheap in price and decent in taste a 4+ rating. A reason why I would not give this place a 5 is that this place sometimes smells of old rag(notice the B rating in front of the restaurant).

This place will definitely be my go to place for my late night Korean food cravings! The old lady who works here is very kind and hardworking. I didn’t expect much from this place honestly because most 24⁄7 food eatery places don’t do a very good job in making their food taste good and fresh, but I really enjoyed the two noodles I got from here late at night. Will recommend and will come again. P. s. The venue isn’t too nice so if you’re a girl, don’t go alone or too late. Go with a guy just incase ^_^

This places is a small whole in the wall restaurant. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid since my grandparents used to live around the corner and my grandma would always take me to eat here when I visited her. Over the years, the food taste have changed but to my knowledge, the owner is the same. I usually get the Donkatsu because when you eat the crispy fried food at a young age, you can’t hate it. I fell in LOVE with crispy fried pork katsu the moment in entered my mouth. Ever since then, I have tried to find the BEST Donkatsu in town. But the food here isn’t that bad for the price. The Naengmyun(Cold Noodle), whether it is spicy or just cold noodle, is great. The noodle is thin compared to other Naengmyun places in LA. There Galbi-tang is good but a little sweet, Yukgaejang(spicy soup) is good too. Overall, the food is good for the price. Don’t expect to have your mind blown out or your taste palates rupturing with joy. The service is good and not a lot of variety of Banchan to those seeking 10 small Plates with your food. You get what you paid for!

This place is pretty decent for the prices listed. 6am to 9pm you can get most of the menu for $ 5.99 or $ 8.99 for two items with cold noodle. I got the Beef Bulgogi which is pretty good and they give you generous portion. Overall, I like this place and will come back again. Oh… this place is CASH only so make sure you bring enough.

My wife and I have been here couple times and we like this place. We like this place because of the special price they have from 10 Am — 9 pm. We usually get the cold noodle and gable special for 8.99. It is a very good price for what you get. The cold noodles are ok but still delicious and the galbi is tasty. The customer service is great. The parking can be tight and if you can’t find parking then you will have to find parking on the street.

Gave 2 stars for service only. The food was nasty as pure msg. I wouldn’t mind for msg as long as the food taste right but those were not korean food in k-town. The cook must be other nationality, cooking over pictures. Very disappointed … of course didn’t finish the food.

Note: Rating solely for the convenience, service, and great deal on the food items. Open 24⁄7 Cash only Has morning specials and evening specials. Food prices are really cheap but the taste of the food is below average. I wouldn’t recommend would be their cold noodles and o-deng. Service is great and the ajummas are really sweet and friendly. Given that this is a Korean restaurant, you need to flag them down if you want something. With so many restaurants in K-town, this falls on the bottom of my list. It’s been over 20 years since this place has been opened and it’s surprising to see that they’re still open.

Ugh, the only possible reason this place gets 3.5 stars is the cheap price. Surprisingly, some of the banchan wasn’t too bad and the ahjummas here are pretty nice. Still, I will not come back here for any food. We ordered yuk gae jang and bibim naeng myun. The former was absolutely horrible. I could taste the msg. Almost inedible. Pass! The latter was less than satisfactory, but not as abominable as the yuk gae jang.

All menu items are 5.99(that’s bc the portions for the more expensive dishes are literally one serving size) until 9pm, the place is serviced by two Korean ladies, who seem relatively accommodating. Side dishes are minimal kimchi, ggakdugi, and maybe one other easy & cheap dish. This place is cash-only. For a quick/cheap bite(clearly not for the person who is a cuisine expert), this place should suffice.
