BESTTACOSEVER! I’ve been driving to this spot for over 4 years and they are well worth it.

Definitely wasn’t a cart. They had a full fledged operation with a full enclosed trailer. Smaller less tasty tacos than the sole proprietor down the street on 33rd.

I love this place as me and my husband come here often. The salsas are amazing and spicy. They always have onions and all the fixings needed to make it your way. Service is amazing I must say and staff is very friendly they almost feel like family. They are generous with their meats and have a great variety of them as well. This is our #1 taco joint.

I really wanted to give this joint 5 stars but they really let me down, it really wasn’t worth the hype from its reviews. Great customer service, everyone was so friendly Great prices Al pastor tacos: decent, needed more flavor Papas and chorizo quesadilla: I really couldn’t taste any of its flavors and it was soooo soggy Carne asada gordita: no flavor, soggy and greasy There are way better taco spots in the area.

It’s not good! I seriously don’t know what the hype is about. Doesn’t even look like real meat.

The quesadillas rock. They’ve got cactus and zucchini flowers and the salsas are fresh and tasty. Though a bit greasy, you’ll be back. Trust. You’ll be back for more, especially if you live nearby.

First thought when getting to this location after having our driver make a u turn while going about 65+mph and pulling the emergency break to park neatly behind another car…“I hope the cops didn’t see that”. Well… maybe it was«I hope I don’t die» as the car screeched to a halt but I’m pretty sure they were closely tied. Second thought after getting out of the car unscathed and walking up to the taco truck while everyone looked at us in amazement for the stunt that was just pulled and having a patrol car drive slowly past us. «If I ignore them, maybe they will go away» — which they did. Maybe if they had gotten there just a couple of seconds earlier this review would be about the county jail but lucky for me it’s just a review on tacos. Anyhow, I was surprised that the employees of this place neither looked amazed nor amused by the antics of our stunt driver. They calmly took our order and proceeded to make our food/tacos quickly. I think i gave and got my order in less than 6 minutes, which was wonderful considering i was starving though I had just eaten dinner/sushi less than 3 – 4 hours previously. I blame my tapeworm. I was amused by our seating options. There were several pink plastic stools that seem weathered and torn. I was afraid that if I sat on them, I might become the camel that broke the camel’s back and fall all 500ft down. I’m only 5’0 so any stool is too up high for me to sit on without dangling my feet like a toddler on a booster chair — i decided to stand while eating(I’m talented like that). Anyhow, back to the food — the carne asada tacos were good but they weren’t as good as the al pastor tacos. I was happy that the tortilla didn’t fall apart on me when eating it. I have a personal pet peeve of overly soft tacos where the tortilla deteriorates after the first bite, drives me crazy. The chili sauces were spicy and hot but not overly spicy that they overwhelmed the flavor of the food itself. I was pleased overall with the simplicity and taste. I think on my return trip I’ll try out the chorizo choices. If you know me, you know I like my meat. Pun intended, not intended. You decide. *chuckles* — overall, I liked this place, it’s a bit away from my home in Pasadena but if I ever come screeching down this street again — I’ll be sure to make a pit stop once again. Maybe next time we will use a different get away driver not hell bent on tossing Briana around the back seat like a silver ball in the pinball machine with his crazy maneuvers.

This may not be the most appealing looking taco truck, but they have some of the tastiest tacos that you will find. The carne asada tacos were very good, and the al pastor were the best I have ever tasted. Plus the freshly made tortillas and generous portions make this truck a ‘must try’. I can’t imagine tacos from a truck getting much better than this!

Our main taco man, Arturo(try him out too!) just a couple blocks down was no where to be found so we decided to try this taco truck out. Tried their carne asada and pastor tacos and papas with chorizo quesadilla. The tacos were spot on, but perhaps the guy didn’t hear us when we said chorizo with our quesadilla because it was no where to be found when we took a bite from it =(It was really good though! It would’ve been so much better if there was chorizo in it! It’s all good! We were still made fans! We got there around 8:40pm and the yummy avocado salsa was already almost gone so make sure to get there earlier to grab the salsas while they’re still available! Hours. Yes, wouldn’t you all like to know. I asked the kind lady giving our food and she said they’re there usually from 6pm-11pm. You’re welcome. ;)

Sorry Arturo, it seems like you got some competition! Ambience: 2 Taste: 5 Bang for Buck: 5 Service: 3 Wow Factor: 4 Fatty Meter: 3 If you guys know who Arturo is, MADPROPS! If not, it’s the taco guy right down the street from this taco truck. El Taco Feliz is a taco truck… how great could the ambiance be? It’s parked near a gutter flowing with cerveza and motor oil in the part of town you don’t really want to be in after the sun goes down. Anywho, this is about the food! The food was excellent. Any taco truck I go to, I use the carne asada as a buffer. The carne asada was whack! This literally had me about to explode in disappointment. I then tried the cabeza(head) meat and I was AMAZED at how delicious it was! The carnitas, al pastor and lengua was also good! The condiments are plentiful and the fried green onions are a must have! Prices are a bit higher than Arturo, but anytime Arturo is gone, this place will definitely fill that void. Tacos are a a buck-25

A variety of succulent meats with an assortment of grain-based receptacles to consume them in. Simple, yet deliciously effective. I am basically writing this review so curious El Taco Feliz patrons who have strayed are aware this place is in fact still in existence. Newbies, read the other reviews for detailed instructions.

Had to drive out there. for the excitement of finding buche, suadero, lengua and tripa. just had to. So, can’t say much for the ambiance, but if you are looking for nice patio dining with heater and relaxing music at a taco truck, you are in a wrong game. Staff is very friendly. I’ve ordered 5 tacos, $ 1.25 a pop, totalling $ 6.25. I only had 2 dimes so I gave him $ 10. he proceeded to hand me $ 4 in change! so I had to at least give him the 2 dimes. what a nice guy! It may be no big deal in monetary wise, but that thought. Love it! I must’ve driven over 80mph so I can come back home with Tacos still hot with cold beer. Here we go. One by one. unfortunately, I am not familiar enough to tell which meat was which. but they were ALL good!!! So good!!! Only thing was I didn’t bring with me enough onion/cilantro. but I managed. Best Tacos outright. I like King Tacos too, but all in all including the experience, this truck tops it. Love it. You will see me hanging out around this truck much more often. :)

Pretty good tacos and like most of the tacos that have stands around the Cypress Park/Gassell Park/Highland Park and some parts of the Eagle Rock area serve mean tacos! This is one of the better ones out of the sea of good ones. There are bars around the area that will host a gourmet food truck each night and people will tend to go there but some people will like to keep it old school and munch on some tacos! If you are visiting LA and want to hit Verdugo Bar go on ahead and if the line is too long at one of the food truck s that they are hosting that night than trek out to this little stand and you wont be disappointed. Also your wallets will barely be dented.

Great tacos. Tried the buche, lengua, cabeza, and suadero. Cabeza had to be the best, both my sister and I agreed. So ridiculously tender and flavorful. Everything else was great as well but that was definitely the stand out. Would love to come back and try a huarache or gordita. Or just a burrito packed with cabeza. Tacos are not $.80 though, maybe they used to be when this was a stall? They are now $ 1.25 which is totally fine but 80 cents would have been better!

THEY’REBACK!!! Thank the taco gods above, THEY’REBACK! The First Family of LA Tacos has returned with a truck, serving the same food they always did before they got booted by the health department. Still serving the best quesadillas, gorditas, sopes, and huaraches from scratch with a huge variety of meats — ALL fantastic. The only things that aren’t handmade are the tortillas for the tacos. My favorite meats are suadero(so tender) and buche(love the light sweet flavor). Gorditas are hard to eat but it’s worth it for that crispy exterior and pile-o-meat inside. Expect a longer wait for gorditas than any other item because they take a while to cook through. Their red salsa is unabashedly spicy and delicious — beware because I’ve had some friends knocked off their feet from this stuff.

Hopefully I’m writing about the right stand, as there haven’t been any other reviews of this place since 2007. At any rate, this is a review of the stand currently at Verdugo near Ave 31. This is one of the best stands/trucks/whatever else I’ve been to, tacos are 80 cents each, all the meats are good and they’ve got a huge salsa bar with radishes, pickled onions, and probably the hottest salsa roja I’ve ever had. Seriously. Go easy on it or you’ll be breathing fire for the next 20 minutes. Not exactly sure what the hours are here but they generally seem to start up when the sun goes down. [ update — this is now easily my favorite place for tacos. they never seem to have a bad night. stunned there aren’t more reviews of this place on here. ] [ update dos — at this point i’ve probably been here like 40 or 50 times and feel totally comfortable saying this is the best taco cart in la. and it’s the cheapest too. if you haven’t been yet quit stalling and try it. wish i could give this place 6 stars ]
