Just ordered a salad from El Greco & got it delivered(waited over an hour). Opened it up and found a bug crawling all over it. So yeah that’s in the trash. Pretty pissed.

I ordered from this hell hole last week. It took them almost 2 hours to send a driver(I live in WeHo, less than 2 miles from them). I was so annoyed by how long it was taking them that I went over to my kitchen window to wait for the driver. Then, I actually watched as the buffoon driver parked his car a few houses from mine, and then spent the next 15 minutes walking up and down my street looking for my house, which has huge numbers in front of it, in the broad daylight! I called the restaurant and reached an incompetent lackee who claimed that there were no managers or supervisors on duty at the time. She was very unhelpful and didn’t understand why I would be pissed that it took over 2 hours to get an order of Mozzarrela Sticks and Chicken Wings. NEVERORDERFROMTHISPLACEAGAIN. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE!!!

Like a few of the other reviews I just skimmed, I also don’t know why this place has such a low review. I’ve only had a few of the items on their menu, because, I’m so addicted to the spicy greek pitaza(lamb) I don’t get anything else. It’s unreal… so good. And everyone there I’ve ordered from is always nice and the food is fairly cheap — that’s a 5 star in my book :)

I ordered on and delivery took almost 2 hours on a Thursday afternoon. The hummus, feta dip and pita were really good but the falafels were cold and hard by the time the food arrived. I also asked for utensils, napkins-the essentials and nothing came in the bag.

Every time I ordered from this restaurant I’d get about the same sandwiches(chicken) which weren’t the tastiest, but good enough for me to order from their restaurant again. The only thing that disappointed me was their coffee. Whenever I’d ask for the Greek coffee, they’d tell me they didn’t have any. So I would go for the capuccino or mocha, which tasted nothing like espresso or even had flavor, that would give me a stomachache, since it was nothing but milk. Other than that, I think their food was ok.

I don’t understand why this place has the low ratings it does. They got me and my friends food ready for pickup in around 10 – 15 minutes. We each ordered the Lamb Gyros and they nail it every time. The meat is juicy, the sauce is flavorful and when you get that bite with just the right cheese/meat/sauce/lettuce ratio it is heavenly. Their french fries are general. Nothing special about them really. Four stars from me. Fast service and stellar food. Best gyro I have found in Los Feliz, LA. *Note, I have only taken out from this location. Not like that matters much, just a heads up.

2.5 stars average? you have to be KIDDING me. their gyros are fucking DELICIOUS. like, maybe one of the best i’ve ever had. i’ve only ordered it for delivery, so maybe it has something to do with dead bodies and rabid wolves in the restaurant. but if you just go off the food, it’s awesome.

Best baklava I have ever had, but spotty delivery service. Ordered three times from them for delivery. Two of three were longer than the hour that was quoted AND the food was cold. The third went just fine. The food is tasty, but i will not be ordering from them any more, as the service for delivery has been so disappointing.

I’m not sure why there’s such a low rating. The Gyros(Lamb or chicken) are DELICIOUS! If you’re ordering delivery be prepared to wait. They are typically busy(which is a good thing) so it can take 60 to 90 minutes to get your food. An hour has been my average wait time, sometimes more, rarely less. The pita they have is so delicious and flavorful, unlike pita at Chicken Dijon which is so flavorless. Although the gyros are worth raving about the chicken and rice leaves a lot to be desired. My plate was 65 percent salad and only a few small, dry, hard strips of bland chicken. Chicken Dijon on the other hand has a delicious chicken and rice dish with decent portions and very juicy, tender chicken. So I’d say if you’re in the mood for a gyro El Greco has the best gyros in Hollywood hands down. If you know somewhere better(in Hollywood) please message me, I’d love to know. The baklava is the best I’ve(Did I spell that right?) But if you’re in the mood for say, a chicken and rice dish, you might be a little disappointed with what El Greco offers up. I’m giving 4 stars cause the gyros and baklava are the bomb and that’s all I really care about!

The lamb gyro is good. The mozzarella sticks that I got in order to reach the minimum delivery price, were completely cold and unappetizing(nothing worse than cold mozz sticks :() I’m disappointed.

Wow, I used to really think this place was a hidden gem for a junk food jones but today’s order has shot that down forever. This was my go to place for an inexpensive burger or a steak and cheese but never again. The prices are ridiculous on the tiny serving sizes on the sides like hummus etc. and the flat bread that came with it was hard a a rock. Also, the cucumber in the salad was going rotten. Unacceptable. And on a side note that may not be the restaurants fault but COMMONSENSE, I ordered a side order of 2 meatballs and when they came, they were the approximate size of I inch marbles. I had to laugh that they would not question such teeny tiny order. Again, common sense should have made the person on the phone let the customer know the meatballs were not average size… just saying. Wow, I’m surprised with the amount of bad reviews for this restaurant :/I’ve only ordered delivery orders from them, but I can’t say enough good things about what I’ve received. I’m in West Hollywood, and my orders have always arrived in 45 minutes — 1 hour, as stated as the delivery estimate time on eat24hours, which is the site I use to order. Usually they arrive closer to the 45-minute mark. So far, the best things I’ve gotten have been: — Chicken Gyros pita — the chicken is REALLY flavourful and juicy, and I love it with the tahini sauce. I’ve eaten pitas that are really crusty and stale at other restaurants, and I can only say the complete opposite of this place… the pitas are warm and fluffy, and very fresh. — Fried zucchini sticks — my husband loves fried food, so I try to make myself feel better by at least ordering something with vegetables inside. ;) I like the spices used in the batter, and the ranch they send with it is tangy enough to make them taste much lighter than they are. — Greek style pizza — we’ve ordered a few different sizes, but if sharing a few dishes, I think the small is more than enough [we order for two]. I love the banana peppers, olives, and feta cheese… it reminds me a lot of the pizzas I used to eat in Greektown, Detroit. I’m not for or against their side salads… they’re good quality but nothing spectacular as far as the dressing goes. The hummous and tabouleh are both delicious, though!

I’ve only ever ordered delivery from here, so I can’t comment on the restaurant in person, but their delivery has always been correct and really fast and friendly. Food-wise, FIVEMILLION stars for their lamb gyro — I’ve had the sandwich and the salad and both are probably my favorite gyros in town. Star deduction for their chicken caesar salad though, I’m a caesar freak, given, but this was meh at best. Their menu is wide ranging and I want to try some of their other specialty offerings soon — I’ve also tried their piztesas(sp?) and although a little more pricey for the quantity you receive, it was very tasty as well.

If you eat in, make sure to look at their specials menu, the prices are really cheap. The pizza was very good, the hummus was good too. I realize eating pizza at a Greek place is odd, but for the price you can’t beat it.

The food is simple, but tasty and plentiful. For $ 5.00 I received a plate of salad, rice, chicken and a drink. The chicken was nicely spiced and grilled without being dry. Don’t forget about their hummus special on Tuesdays The other pluses are that they are open past 10:00 and the service has always been friendly and efficient.

Have never had an issue when ordering from this place. I live in a pretty congested area and each time I order, no matter the size, its consistently on time. Very fair prices and a large menu, everything I’ve had here is verryy tasty. I usually go with the spicy feta(i seriously am addicted to this stuff) and a lamb gyro… cant really go wrong with that.

My friend loves the gyro pizza and the gyro calzone. We would always order together but one time I was in the area and went in there and ordered for dinner for myself on my way home. The meat tasted a little rank. Couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was that was off. I was so hungry, I ate it anyway. Stupid move. I had to take 4 days off of work, that’s how sick I got. It was not pretty. Oh god, I’m feeling queasy just thinking about it. I can never go here ever again. PLEASE. Don’t go here.

There’s only one thing to get here– the gyro pizza. Everything else sucks. For a while, I kept ordering new things off their menu with a glimpse of hope that I would find something on there as amazing as their gyro pizza. Didn’t happen. Instead, I paid for some of the worst garbage that apparently at some point in time was mistaken for food. Their pastisio– garbage. Their lemon chicken soup– yeuucchhhh!!! I literally just started gagging. Everything else– Horrible, just horrible. Ironically, their gyros sandwiches aren’t even good, even though I love the gyro pizza so much. One time, I ordered these greek cookies for dessert and THEYHADMOLDONTHEM! Wow, those things must be flying off the shelves. When I called them about this, the owner, «Bolo»(like one of those cool ties from the 80’s) was apologetic enough to reverse the charge for them… and hopefully really embarrassed too. The gyro pizza is to die for though. It’s an herb crust pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella, topped with gyro meat, tomatoes and onions, served with a side of tzaziki sauce for dipping. Also delicious as a calzone. I finally stopped ordering my gyro pizzas for delivery from this place. I only do carry-out now. They forgot my tzaziki sauce a total of 3 times and once the driver took ANHOURAND A HALF to deliver my pizza from Sunset and Highland to Fountain and Highland! I guess knowing any streets outside of a 1 block radius is too much to ask for this delivery driver. The girl who usually answers the phone there is also a dingbat so I partially blame her whenever something goes wrong. So if you’re in the mood for anything other than a gyro pizza, don’t even think about it. If you happen to be in the mood for a gyro pizza, GOTHERE and eat it inside or order it to go.

Stumbled upon this place late one weeknight because the $ 1 Chinese place in the same mini-mall had a smelly homeless guy that I was standing behind in the line to order my Chinese food. So I left the $ 1 Chinese place and walked into El Greco Café. There was one other person at a table at El Greco… but he seemed to be more of a friend of staff than a customer. The restaurant does have free wifi. That’s a plus. I ordered the lamb gyros sandwich which came with one side… rice, salad, french fries, tabouleh or hummus. I got the hummus. The lamb gyros was great. Well seasoned and fresh. It also came with little side cups of tahini and tzatziki. The tzatziki was tasty and thick. The hummus was okay… maybe a little too much tahini for my taste. The one server was super friendly… and apparently they are open very late at night and deliver. I believe I’ll be back. I’ve been looking for a good gyros place. Good price too: $ 6.45(before tax/tip).

«When in Greece, pile on the Grease.» – No one really says that, but after coming to El Greco Café, you’ll find it appropriate. El Greco’s location in Los Feliz is a solid, 3.5 to 4 restaurant, but the Hollywood location is the dictionary definition of BLEH. If the ennui happened only once, I’d chalk it all up to an off night for the Hollywood crew, but El Greco on Sunset was underwhelming on two different occasions — one in the middle of the day, in the restaurant, and another during the evening, for a delivery order. Both times, the food was boring, overly oily, and cold! Their Greek salads don’t taste very Greek, if that makes any sense. Really vinegary, and slathered in olive oil. Just seems wrong somehow, though maybe I just don’t understand how these things are done — «it’s all Greek to me». What I CAN say for certain, though, is that I’ve built better salads at home, or slapped better ones together at a supermarket salad bar, which ended up tastier and cheaper than the $ 9 mess El Greco served me. El Greco’s taboulee is bland and well-nigh tasteless, and their mousaka has almost a kind of «spoiled food» aura that makes the eater ponder whether the food is full of character, or just gross. Again, maybe this was just my own unfortunate experience, but consider yourself warned. The mushroom Swiss cheeseburger and gyros would get definite high marks — unfortunately, the delivery driver couldn’t find my address(and it’s right off Hollywood Blvd, too!), which is only a mile or so away from the restaurant, and he took over an hour to make the delivery after I talked him through it on the cellphone. He still got a good tip because I felt bad for him, but his employers should give him a GPS or something, or have him work in the restaurant while they send someone more familiar with the neighborhood to make the deliveries. Both the burger and accompanying fries were cold, congealed, and had to be nuked in the microwave. Speaking of microwave, the fries, mozzarella sticks, and zucchini sticks are all clearly frozen, and not made fresh in the restaurant. The Los Feliz El Greco doesn’t do that, so why does the Sunset location chintz out on us? L-A-M-E. I want to like this place, and am considering trying their pizza, but their specifically«Greek» choices have failed to impress so far. I hope I grow to love them, but as it stands right now, I just want to be friends.
