It was decent I guess. The rice was a bit overcooked and a little crunchy, which was a bit off-putting. However, the burrito I had(#4 with asada — added cheese) was OK. They have a very good spicy salsa, tasted like something habanero based. Overall, I probably won’t be back because there are just too many choices for good Mexican food in DTLA to come back here. !! We ate the French fries asada and were so tasty. Super clean and friendly staff. True authentic Mexican food. Looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but once you walk in has a very welcoming atmosphere. It is small but nice.

Small hole in the wall Mexican joint. Cheap food but good portions and it’s really tasty!

After asking several co-workers of the Public Works building about this place and getting no experience-based responses, I decided to check it out for myself. So, so glad I did! The Chili Verde plate is the stuff Heaven must be made of! This reminds me so very much of my Nana’s Chili Verde, but this has a bit more heat to it. In addition, the beans are Divine, with a hint of what may be… nutmeg? I dunno, but they were something special. The rice is okay, but you can just mix it in with the surrounding sauce(for the record, very few restaurants meet my standard for rice). The whole thing is $ 6.95. Best deal ever for a reminder of comfort food from my childhood! Plus, the lady who runs the place is as sweet and helpful as can be. Don’t be intimidated by the high school kids. Just take a seat. Highly, highly recommended for the Chili Verde. CASHONLY!
