I was pretty hungry on New Years Eve since all my go to’s were closed and I’m hopeless in the kitchen. I drove down Eastern and found this little gem, and I do mean little, you’d miss it if it weren’t for the pupusa sign in front. Man were they tasty! The owners were really nice and the lady in the back was hysterical. I swear she made each one with love and they were the best I’ve had in a good while. Totally satisfied my craving, their other options look really good and everything was decently priced. These pupusas are the best in El Sereno and I definitely recommend it!

My wife and I love enjoying eating Salvadorian food very much when we the chance. After our grocery shopping at Food-4-Less, we were very hungry my wife and I were craving for good Salvadorian. I check on Unilocal to check any Salvadorian restaurants in El Sereno or nearby. This restaurant is tiny just with three table and a small conner on wall and the menu is on the wall but hand written they have a menu. The biggest surprise is the owner/chef, she does everything in this small kitchen but her food incredible good. I decided to get a cheese pupusas and a pupusas combo it comes with refried beans with Salvadorian sour cream and the pupusas come with pickle cabbage to add on the pupusas. My wife order cheese pupusas and a bowl of Salvadorian albondigas. The owner/chef was amazing handling our order and also another order that’s talent for a one person doing the cooking. Our food was really I pick up our food. I cut into the cheese pupusas they very good, I add the pickle cabbage and non spicy sauce onto the pupusas delicious good I enjoy a lot. My wife enjoy her pupusas but she enjoy the Salvadorian albondigas she told it have so much flavor. Even I took taste wow the albondigas was so good I felt it beat the Mexican albondigas hands down.

Dunia and Manuel make really great, fresh Salvadorian food. These are honestly the best pupusas I’ve had in LA(not greasy, good flavor, variety of options). Try the papa/jalapeño/queso or the revuelta. The aguas frescas and jugos naturales are also very good. Prices are reasonable(pupusas are around $ 2). If you are ordering a lot of food, it does take a while(since everything is made from scratch by just the two of them), so call ahead if you are in a rush.

Most excellent hole in the wall eatery in El Sereno. Try the«sopa de pollo» on the weekends, have the lady«fry the chicken» and give you the vegetable soup on the side. Get this — The chicken is actually cooked with the soup and then removed for a quick fry. The full order brings soup(obviously), rice, beans & small salad + 2 thick corn tortillas. For $ 10 or so dollars, you can feed 2 people or 1 very hungry individual. Trust me on this one, you will no be disappointed.

All I need to say about this place is that you know it’s good when you have an old little lady making your food right on the spot from scratch. It is made with so much love and care. You will leave very happy and satisfied. This is only of my favorite hidden gems for hole in the walls. This place has such a great vibe and feel. Especially when you walk in and hear such upbeat music that takes you to the Latin American feel. The pupusas are amazing. Just try them all. Definitely go to this location on Eastern. I wished I knew the lady’s name, but she is just awesome. You just want to hug her after she hands you the bag of all the food you ordered.

True story. .walked into this spot. .feeling a bit bummed… then booom. Music and fiesta going on!!! Picked up my pupusas and was immediately swept off my butt. Ha mover la colita! My experience was like walking into a kitchen during a house party. Pupusas were great and priced to munch on. Ordered way too much but definitely worth it. Will I return? Absolutely and this time I am taking my dancing shoes. Looked like a family business and they definitely put lots of love into their food. Keep on Unilocaling

Pupusas here are made with love. Little hole in the wall spot in El Sereno– worth going to. It takes about 15 minutes to make after you place your order. Spent only 8 bucks on 4 pupusas: 2 with beans and cheese 2 with carne asada. Can’t go wrong!

You can find the greasiest and most delicious pupusas in the area at this spot. It’s literally a hole in the wall but the service is so personal that you won’t mind the cramped space.

There are two locations about 700 feet from each other. They’re around the corner from each other actually. The one on Eastern is the gem. The Chalateco #2 on Huntington, next to the ARCO is not as good. The guy at the #2 is kinda funny. He wears big gawdy gold jewelry, silk shirts and sun glasses in the store, while trying to be as helpful as can be. The one at this address, on Eastern is goooood. The old lady makes the pupusas herself. She has a little dinky commercial kitchen in the back but the magic is in the care she puts into each pupusa. She jokes with you while she cooks, and then wraps the pupusas up for you to enjoy at home. Go there, your taste buds will thank you,

The best damn pupusas is el sereno. I love the skinny tall old lady making them, she seems like the guatemalan grandma I have always wanted. The chicaronnes are gooood.
