Bistec encebollado. Authentic Salvi restaurant. Too bad I’m on a diet, otherwise I would be going here like every week, haha

I came in here to get some pupusas. I was very satisfied with how big and full these pupusas were very delicious, best pupusas i’ve had in LA. Very friendly place will be coming back and recommend to any pupusa lover or just great salvadorean food.

Excellent Papusas. High quality at a great price. This in the Original El Salvadorian Papusa Restaurant. They are made fresh and not cook on any grease on the grill. Monday through Thursday $.99 all other times a $ 1.50. Miguel works there everyday is very helpful and a great guy.

Kind of wish I’d been in the pupuseria crawl, but alas, wasn’t. I’m not sure what everyone’s talking about here. I can only speak for their pupusas, but I’ve been eating them here for YEARS(my mom worked near here when I was in high school and brought them home a lot). I’ve always liked their pupusas a lot, everyone there is super DUPER nice, they seem to do a very good business, and are happy to take big orders(We once ordered tons of their pupusas for a party… come to think of it I think it was my high school graduation party…11 years ago). I love all of them. You can watch them make the pupusas there, they don’t use any extra grease on the griddle whatsoever. Queso con loroco is great, revultas are salty, and maybe even better. Also, I *like* their curtido. It’s really oregano-y(as it should be), and has a little creeping spice that hits you only after you swallow. Yum.

I know the others on the pupusa-palooza crawl didn’t enjoy this place but I liked the pupusas here more that Jaragua. The curtido was more roughly chopped which made it easier to eat with the pupusas and cut the heaviness better. I didn’t think they were that greasy, actually, just very filling. The ensalata drinks were beautiful here with plenty of chopped fruit in ‘em but I didn’t get one. Instead, I got a pink drink(cebada) that I’m pretty sure was cactus syrup which was very refreshing. For a small joint, they accommodated our group of 14 easily. We ordered 4 of each of their pupusas and I enjoyed the pork one the best. Again, I’d be interested in coming back to try some other dishes.
