I must admit that I fell in love with the aesthetic and the concept of this place right off the bat. You’re greeted with shelves of magazines, packaged coffee beans, and merchandise at the entrance; turn around and you’ll find displays of a decently large selection of colorful, eye-catching books. The rest of the shop is dressed with simple tables, stools, and benches along the walls. Eightfold is essentially the definition of a minimalist’s dream. My only critique is that the coffee here is a little more acidic than I usually like. Upon first sip of my cappuccino, I immediately noticed that it was a bit sour, but nothing so alarming that would make me not want to come back again. As always, parking in this area is a bit tough, but if you can snatch a spot along Sunset or in the neighboring side streets, definitely come check this place out!

How great is the coffee shop compared to others? Oh, just eightfold compared to the others! I kidding, but I’ll give this place high marks. Coffee beans: If you love Heart from Portland, this place is for you. Wi-fi/Outlets: Wi-Fi Enabled, but Signal is weak. There’s also not many outlets available for your appliances. Location/Parking: Located across the street from Sunset Law building. Look for parking restrictions. The sign I saw said 1 hour parking through out the day. Ambiance/Décor: Has this nice vibe to this place with modern furnishings. There’s also a pop up book shop called & Pens Press at this location. Service: Service was great. Ebbie and Anna(baristas) are very friendly, attentive, and very informative about their coffee products. Drink of choice: Cold brew($ 3.50): Pricing is very good for cold brew and most importantly, it’s very strong to jump start your day! Dessert/Pastries: They sell mini donut snobs and pastries from bake farm. Will be back!

Coffee shops are popping up in Echo Park/Silverlake left and right. Right before the holidays, a friend and I came by while they were still soft opening. The space is minimalist and bright with whitewashed walls and floor to ceiling windows at the front. At the time, seating was mostly benches at the front and along the side wall. Looks like there are more seats now, including a couple of benches outside. We ordered a CORTADO and a MATCHALATTE. So pretty when you take their picture on the counter or on the light-colored bench at the front. Oh and they’re also really good.

Ordered a Breve Cortado. It was good. Nice and clean space. Great location near dodger stadium. A little pricey for a breve cortado though. I will be back to try the other drinks. UPDATE: I cam back for another cortado. They are consistent which is great. I’ll be back for sure. Thank You

The coffee is fine and this place is fine too if not a little too annoyingly over-the-top hipster-aesthetic but they need better hours! And food!

I went here to sit and chill with some friends. Quaint place to bring your books/laptop and work, though it’s not as capable as a work area versus other cafes like Copa Vida or the larger Intelligentsias. Great bookshelf filled with magazines and short books, but apparently you should buy them before you sit and read them since they’re not for public use. One thing though– they have a remarkable selection of chocolates. One brand with different chocolates ranging in the different percentages of cocoa, and there was another one with single source cocoa from Vietnam. I thought the single-source trend was only prevalent in coffee, but woah. Parking can be tough but hey, it’s Silverlake.

Gorgeous space. Clean and minimal. Cool little retail section with books and coffee paraphernalia. My latte was great. My friend’s almond latte also great. The almond milk is not homemade but I love the brand they use. Cool staff with a barista who really wanted the latte to be just right. Only small pet peeve was I was charged tax when I said to-go. There should be no tax on this, I believe. Would come back anytime I am in the area!

What a cool coffee shop. I mean, so cool. I was just thinking when I woke up this morning– do you know what this neighborhood needs? Like, a really, really, really ridiculously cool coffee shop. Maybe with some avant garde, forward thinking literature. Maybe showcasing a butthole or two. And BAM. Here it is.

I’ve waited a long time to have a nice coffee shop in my neighborhood where I can stop while walking pup, and this one finally fits the bill. Open, clean lines and inviting, what a nice discovery. One complaint is the barrista, who treated me like I was asking for a two-headed fish when I asked for a latte with no foam. After some negotiations, I received a reasonably well prepared drink with a small amount of foam, but he glared at me the whole time he steamed the milk, apparently trying to coffee shame me. The manager was very nice, however, and I will be back. I think I just need to spend a little time training the guy pulling the levers.

Awesome and trendy little neighborhood coffee place. My overall assessment: Service: Super friendly and knowledgable staff Food /Coffee: Food is fresh and appears to be organic. Lots of vegetarian options that are tasty and filing They don’t mess around in the coffee department. Strong and perfectly made. Value: This is the one area that needs improvement. I stopped by yesterday and had a latte and a turkey sandwich and it came to about $ 19 and change. Yikes !!! Definitely on the expensive end which may hurt them in the end.

Good coffee. Good books. Good atmosphere. Paid $ 4 for a chocolate croissant that tasted like it rolled off the back of a garbage truck. They are very new and I’m sure their pastry game will get better.

Clean design, friendly service, well-curated drinks. I spent an afternoon here on my laptop on a Saturday. Although it was busy throughout until closing, it never felt overcrowded like many other ‘hip’ coffee shops. The Colombian coffee was strong — caffeine usually has no effect on me, but I definitely felt this coffee. However, the Hojicha tea was my favorite. A nice, dark, roasted tea. I left as they were closing, and Sue(the owner) offered a donut on the house. Ended up chatting for a bit, and got to hear about how the selection of tea and coffee was carefully made. Very friendly woman, who seems committed to bringing quality to every aspect of this shop. Bonus that Guisados is right across the street. Makes for a great place to spend the day getting work done.

Love this place. 1. Great coffee 2. Serves goodies from proof bakery aka the bakery with the best chocolate chip cookie in all of California. 1 hr Parking is ample on sunset. Just be careful crossing the street if you’re parked on the other side.

New coffee shop in Silverlake and this place has a warm and spacious atmosphere. Serving Heart Coffee Roaster coffee from Portland, OR, this place will soon become a popular spot in the neighborhood. There is a good amount of seating indoors with benches as well as a large dining table. There is free wifi here(password is «echopark» and outlets for people to charge their devices. For the most part, I enjoyed the place and the coffee itself was fine too. I ordered the latte with almond milk and the latte cost roughly $ 4 – 5, which isnt cheap but is around the average price. What sorta disappointed me was the fact that the barista prepared the drink without any care/consideration… Like I don’t know if the barista was new or if I am over reacting but there was no latte art and idk, one expects the drink to be prepared a certain way and instead I got a cup of joe that looked unpresentable. It looked like the milk was randomly poured. My friend ordered a simple cold brew and that drink is more concentrated than usual. The taste of the black coffee is more present and is borderline too much for someone who just wanted a cool drink to stay refreshed. I would like to come back again when this place has worked out the kinks because personally, I think the staff needs more training and practice. Drinks are served and prepared a certain way and it looks bad when a paying customers get something that isnt the store’s best work. For now, I just say meh…

Everything about eightfold is amazing. The owner(Sue!) and baristas are genuine and fun, and up for good chats(Ebbie!) The space is clean and minimal with windows, benches and and a large community table in the back. Every coffee I’ve had here(from small batch brewed to ice mocha !) has been excellent and crafted with care. They serve Heart roasters, which is one of my favorites. There is free street parking in the area. Only a couple of things to note; there’s only a couple of outlets in random places and the space can get kind of chilly(keep your layers with you). Other than that; I HEARTEIGHTFOLD.

Echo Park’s newest coffee shop! Serving Heart coffee from Portland. Coffee is very good and the space is cool! Can’t wait to see it get fully set up and going, this is going to be a hot spot for sure.
