I was very happy to find Benson Lee Kung Fu. Their studio is gorgeous. Plenty of free street parking. My 3 boys have been students for about 6 months. Sihing Tav is a great teacher– from his teaching style to his patience… He’s able to deal with a group of children of all ages(God bless him, ’cause I couldn’t do it lol). One of my sons is frequently silly(but hey, he’s 6) & the other has his own unique set of challenges– difficulty focusing, decreased body awareness, slow at processing things, easily frustrated… Sihing Tav handles it all gracefully. He is firm but kind, and he «knows how» to teach, which is a quality not all«teachers» have. I was looking to put my boys in something that would provide them discipline, strength, focus, & «meditation»…something that would balance out the killing-of-brain cells through video games haha. I checked out various forms of martial arts– Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, & even considered MMA, but Kung Fu stuck out to me. Maybe ’cause it looks pretty lol. I wanted something bad-ass yet had a good balance of everything, not just kicks like Tae Kwon Do seems to have a lot of, or Jiu-Jitsu which to me looks like accidents waiting to happen if not done correctly. I’m a single mom of 5 kids & work full-time. Having 3 of ‘em in Kung Fu(1’s in college & another’s 2 years old) definitely costs me a chunk, but it’s a great investment in my kids’ overall health of mind & body.

Instructors are friendly and professional, they teach excellent traditional training. I am enjoying learning Wu style Tai chi. I highly recommend for learning total art of Tai chi and Eagle Claw Kung Fu.

I LOVE this place!!! To be honest I never thought of myself as a martial arts kinda gal. My coordination, balance, and shyness had kept me from participating in such activities before. It was not until I met one of the instructors here through his amazing Ritual Fitness program that I learned of this system of Kung Fu and what it was all about. I decided one day to try out the conditioning class that they offer on Mondays and Wednesday’s as they incorporate strength training exercises that I’m already used to and Kung fu moves that any level of experience can enjoy. After a month or so of participation in the conditioning class, I enjoyed it so much that I decided to also join in on the all levels class following it! The Eagle Claw Kung Fu system is so fascinating! The history behind it, culture, movements, just incredible. I’ve never felt more at ease and connected to movements as I do now after only a few months of practice here at this school. The instructors, community, and education of this school I highly recommend to anyone at any age to try!!! I enjoy it so much and look forward to learning further and perfecting my skill set already attained!

Becoming a practitioner of the Eagle Claw kung fu system has literally been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I’ve improved my mental discipline, physical and emotional strength, balance, coordination, you name it. But the system is only a part of the overall equation. Learning from Sifu Benson Lee is both a rare treat and an amazing experience. His mastery of the system, its application and his ability to adapt it to most any practitioner is bar none. His senior instructor Tav has dedicated so much of his time to both creating a positive environment to train in but also listens to his students to ensure they’re at their best, but safely. There are many martial arts schools out there and I’m sure many are good. Very few schools have instructors that literally live for their art, have used their art, and take so much pride and joy in passing the art on to others in a traditional setting. If you have ever wanted to try a traditional martial art, for any reason, you owe it to yourself to check out the school. It could well be a life-changing experience you as it was(and continues to be) for me.

I have been studying Eagle Claw Kung Fu for over 15 years under the guidance of Sifu(Chief Instructor) Benson Lee. Sifu Benson Lee carries a wealth of knowledge and is highly respected in the martial arts community. The classes are taught in a traditional style that is all encompassing. When training here you will learn applicable techniques such as joint locks and striking, while at the same time gaining strength and coordination through the practice of traditional forms and drills. Whether you are looking for a martial arts school for self defense, physical fitness, tradition or all of the above, Eagle Claw Kung Fu is a great system that will help you achieve your goals.

It’s hard to begin a review of this school. There’s so much to cover. Starting from the ground up… literally Training floor is perfect, and was built by the school(both instructors and students worked together on it). It’s a beautiful space and even has a little bit of flex which is better for your joints when landing. But work on landing softly anyway =). The system Eagle Claw Kung Fu is a wonder. Both soft and hard, the system is adaptable to the many people who come to study it. It is an ocean. You can spend a lifetime exploring it all, or you can commit yourself to the various smaller aspects of it. You decide. The instructors. Here is where the school shines. You won’t get these instructors anywhere else, and they are amazing. They have committed their entire lives to Eagle Claw, and they know how to take the style from Art to Application with expert knowledge. This isn’t ballet… These techniques were taught to armies hundreds of years ago, and I think Master Benson truly understands the spirit with which this rare knowledge was passed down. If you are looking for something bigger than yourself to commit to, this is where you will find it.
