I like the fact that everything is so cheap! I actually didn’t have anyone following me around like some other reviews say, I actually wished I did so they can tell me the price of things since nothing has a price tag.(only reason why I put 4 stars was no price tags)

Pros: — cheap lashes 12 for $ 12 or 12 for $ 10 depending on the brand — tons of disposables in different quantities — big polish selection — lots of stuff under $ 2 for single items — tax included in given price — will wholesale if u have a permit or license CONS: — no sticker prices — small cramped store — parking sucks but so does the entire DTLA — they do watch you closely while you shop If your a MUA or Nail Tech, I suggest you go there & stock up for dirt cheap. Also check out the beauty place across the street with the black awning for supplies & a HUGENYX collection.

I came here because the website that get my lashes from went out of business, so i found this place while searching. 1st: the parking was so hard to find, i had to park 3 blocks away 4 $ all day. 2nd: when we walked in(took my brother) everyone was smiling and friendly, HOWEVER someone does tail u the whole time your in the store, like LITERALLY someone is standing right next to u the entire time. i was annoyed, but i didnt care because i only came for the lashes. i got 10 no names for 10 $ and 12CREME for 14 $ and 4 eyebrow shavers for 2 $ total 27 $ no tax.

I came here because it’s close to work and another makeup artist told me I could get a dozen of eyelashes for only $ 12! I took the trip with a friend on my lunch. First of all it’s very hard finding parking AND if you go around noon(lunch time) forget it you wont find anything. I went around 1130am and I still had to drive around the block 4 times until I found a parking space. Unless you want to park in a $ 5 parking lot which defeats the purpose of going downtown to buy eyelashes. The meters downtown accept coins and cards. I only paid like $ 1.00 because I ran in & out. THESTORE: It has tons of beauty supplies, cheap makeup, lashes, and makeup cases, nail supplies etc. The store is very very cramped. It doesn’t help that they also has like 5 employees walking around following you in the tiny isles WELL Following you is an understatement! They stalk you like(8 inches from your face). They really do assign a employee to follow you around until they pay. I just tell them«HI can I help you??» then I usually get another foot of distant LOL! If that easily offends you then DON’T COMEHERE. Seriously I get over things fast and if that’s the price I have to pay for cheap eyes lashes that normally cost double then I really don’t care. My friend was very offended so she walked out. Cons: They don’t have prices on anything. I honestly believe sometimes they make them up LOL. A few times I was told different prices by different employees. Cash only — under a certain dollar amount I think it’s like $ 30 I cant remember. They will also charge a FEE They stalk you… Until you leave. Hard to find parking(meters or lot only) Pros: It’s the cheapest lash place I found for the selection. They carry several brands and you can mix and match. They carry a lot of beauty products for Nails, hair, skin, makeup & tools etc… Even with the price confusion it’s still the cheapest place I found. There is another beauty supply store next door and across the street but I think this place is the cheapest.

After being a loyal customer for over a year… I am sadden to announce the HORRIBLE change of management. When I was living in LA, this was my go-to destination for my makeup disposables, lashes, and nail polishes. I would buy in bulk and had developed a relationship with one of the managers. She was always so sweet and would be fair with pricing. When I told her I was moving to NY, she gave me a little gift. After coming home on break/business, I went in to stock up because I’ve yet to find a whole sale place in NY like Downtown Beauty, I was shocked to find out that there were new managers/owners, and the sweet lady was no longer there. I felt like I was being spied on by the new owners and they DEFINITELY up’d their prices and wholesale bundles. For example, in the past, I would spend $ 2.50/half dozen on mascara/lip wands. This time around they were charging $ 4.50/dozen. No negotiations. They got rid of half dozen purchases, even on makeup removing wipes. My last trip in December was so heart-breaking. I wanted to use my debit card, and they told me the minimum was a $ 50 purchase(hmmmmm, not 20 or 25, but 50). So I bit my tongue and said ok… I needed to buy a lot for a music video and kept it within the $ 50 minimum, perhaps a few dollars over. As I go to check out, they charge me an additional 3% on top of tax to use my card! I was furious because obviously they’re not making enough to not charge additional fee on card transactions and failed to mention the addition 3% charge. Not only were they RUDE, but could give two-shits about these new policies. The only reason why I would consider stepping into that place is for the faithful employee Ana who stayed even after the new management. She would always try to make the best out of everything. Still crushes me thinking about Downtown Beauty.

I’ve been doing my own nails for years and I have been to several other nail supply stores in the area… and this store is the most EXPENSIVE one! I only checked out the nail supplies, not the make-up, but I wouldn’t recommend going to this store for nail supplies when there are more cheaper nail supply stores around there!

I’ve been going to Downtown Beauty Supply for a couple years now and as a professional makeup artist, it was my go-to place for lashes, disposables and NYX product. much to my chagrin, they told me they are RAISING their lash prices again– It used to be 12 for $ 7.50, then it was 12 for $ 10 and now it is 12 for $ 12 and any higher and you might as well just save yourself the cost of parking and the uncomfortableness of being followed and stared at in the store, and buy online for $ 1.25 or $ 1.50 a pair. There are no prices marked anywhere. I was also told by the owner, and two employees that the cost of the ½ oz tube of DUO lash adhesive was $ 5, so I bought two– when my friend approached the register to buy 3 tubes they told her it was $ 8 a tube and when I told the cashier«no, I just paid $ 5 a tube, that’s what we were told the cost was by everybody here» the cashier actually had the NERVE to tell me(after my transaction was completed and I was ready to leave with my product) «I got the price wrong, so you own me $ 6». Get the heck outta here, lady! I used to put up with their rudeness and following me around the store, but no more. It’s been a good run Downtown Beauty, but I’m finished with you and I suggest other professionals do the same.

Looking good a girl’s full-time job! Last week, I used up my last set of fake lashes while partying in Vegas. What to do, what to do? Ching T and her review to the rescue. Being Asian, I’m cursed with short straight lashes! So long fake lashes is a must when going out. They cost $ 11 at Target for 1 set. Being Asian, it’s all about looking good without breaking the bank. Frugality is a virtual. So, I went and bought 12 for $ 12! So happy! Now I can bat my big long eyelashes and make every man fall in love with me… wishful thinking.

Went there today! They had a lot of nail art! I mean a whole bunch of it! They had a nail polish deal, 12 nail polishes for 7 dollars. The prices for their items where pretty good. I think I paid more for parking that what I paid at the store. It was ok. Not great, but okay. What I didn’t like was that there was always someone behind you, making sure you didn’t steal anything… it was uncomfortable.

Also do note that it is cash for purchases under $ 50. And I was super stoked to find out that they carry IBD gel polishes, nail forms and UV Lamps so if you’re thinking about doing your own gel nails this is a good place to get your supplies.
