I came here with my grandma and mom. My grandma has eaten here in the past, and she loves it. We’ve found it very difficult to find a good Guatemalan restaurant in the valley, but this place hit the spot. Seeing how it was the day before Valentines they had a very festive feel, the waitresses were attentive and the food was delicious. They had a fun little raffle and a live singer. Fun environment:)

I have not eaten here, and don’t know if I will. I’m sorry, but I have to complain about the advertising flyer. It was dropped down inside my screen door, and it’s very, very hard to get papers back out of there. Please ask your guys not to do that. Thanks!

I’ve had the luck of finding this hidden gem. I can’t feel any better about this establishment than I already do. This is where you go when your craving your abuelitas homemade meals. I’m currently savoring in the taste of their Pollo Arozco. Don’t even think about it, just come and try. You won’t regret it!

I was so disappointed with my yuka con chicharones… it was old and chewy. The avocado they put on top of the Garnachas was not fresh, it has black spots not worth to serve. I only like their frioles fritos and platanos fritos and the tamate dips. Even the chips are not crunchy.

My friend recommended this place to us, from today on I am not sure if I can keep calling her my friend, I open the menu and on every page of the menu their are pictures advertising beer if not on top of the menu they have a picture of a rooster reprensitng the beer, so of course I order a beer, but she said they don’t have beer my first disappointment, OK I let it go, after a series of issues we finally got our food. I saw the lady next to us complaining about how they serve her the chicken neck and she didn’t want it, few minutes later my chicken soup was serve with the same looking neck the lady on the next table didn’t want. The worst was when I told the waitress that my son’s food and the tortillas were cold, she didn’t believe me and she TOUCHTOUCHTOUCHTHEFOOD on my kids plate and she says that is the way they supposed to be but she will take them back to the kitchen. I am so glad I can actually vent and say what I think about this place. Service was really poor food wasn’t bad but they make me feel like I was at that mean aunt or grandmother’s house where if you complaint your parents will punished you. The place wasn’t worth my time or my money.

Hands down, the best Guatemalan restaurant I’ve ever been to. The fried plantains literally melt in your mouth. The garnachas are delicious, the best! The service is exceptional, friendly and attentive. Food is fresh and the fruit drinks are refreshing. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I know I’ll be coming back soon!

We had the Carne Guisada and Salpicon. Both were really nicely prepared. I especially love the salpicon and the plantains, the latter of which seems to have a certain something something that other places with plantains don’t have. Nice presentation on the plate as well. The place felt more airy and open than when this was a Mexican restaurant a while back. The service was prompt and friendly, with the waitress speaking some English, but if you know Spanish, it’s a good thing here. They do not serve alcohol here, but have applied for the license, in case that matters to you. Across the street from the Van Nuys FlyAway. They’re open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, a nice bonus on weekends. Definitely will be back again.

The food here is excellent, and the melon jugos was refreshing. I came in here on a whim, and while the parking kind of sucks, the food definitely makes up for it. This is right by the Van Nuys flyaway, so would be very convenient for people who are rolling through there. The carne asada was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp cooked perfectly and nicely garlicky. The rice and beans are on point, and who doesn’t LOVE refriend black beans? The only bummer is they have beer signs everywhere, but do not serve alcohol. Perhaps that’s changed?

This place was really really tasty. We went on a Friday and were seated immediately. Our waitress was really sweet and our food came out really quickly. My only complaint would be all the signs for beer and apparently they don’t serve alcohol? Not a deal breaker, but why have the signs up if you don’t have beer. I’ll be back for sure!

This place was ok for me. Not a place I would be eager to visit again. I ordered a seafood soup which flavor wise it was delicious but I wasn’t expecting to find snails in it. That kind of ruined it for me. The soup didn’t have much fish. I got mostly bones and I thought at $ 18, it was a bit over priced. The shrimp a la Diablo were good but the sauce was more of a mole sauce. I did not like the tamales de chipilin. Fresh tortillas were good! The waitress was awesome. Very attentive. They did take a long time to bring our order.
