Went to this place after a recommendation made to my husband. I approached the lady and told her I wanted to place an order to go, she either didn’t speak English or didn’t want to help me… I couldn’t tell. She ushered for the man to help me. I asked him about a menu item and he looked at me weird. Okay, I don’t speak Spanish so I’m probably not pronouncing it right but I’m sure I’m not the first non-Spanish person to walk into the restaurant. Anyway, he looks over at the chick from earlier and then turns to me and says they ran out of that item. Whatever, there’s not a single person in your restaurant on a Friday night. I’m sure you ran out. You try to help a local mom-pop shop and get a slap in the face. Owner– if you care about your business, reconsider the people you have working there.

Delicious carne asada tacos for cheap with an authentic Mexican feel. One of my favorite spots in LA. Do not waste your time and money at Titos when Don Felix is less than a minute away.

This is a hidden gem of a spot. Don’t miss the perfectly grilled short ribs, it comes with cactus salad rice and beans. The barbacoa de borrega roja is another favorite of mine. Service is by friendly people, this is a family run place. My wife wanted me to mention the delicious hot chocolate. This is a neighborhood spot not a destination but if you are in Mar Vista check it out. Also there is a meat market attached you can bring home some of those short ribs to grill at home or pick up some marinated carne or pollo.
