i took my car to the shop and as usually they told me it would only take a few hours turns out a few hours turned into all day. During lunch time i started to get hungry so I asked around while a good place to eat was they recommended this place so I gave them a try. I ordered a small salad and a taco it was really good and the people there are so nice.

The Sisig Fries are really good. The Adobo Hot Dog is OK. The prices are a little steep. I don’t get the name of the truck but that’s besides the point. I say give it a try.

Honestly I am baffled at the high reviews! lets start out from the top… I was first in line so I ask the guy what he recommends he says everything so i order the steak sandwich which comes with fries. Then i paid him and stepped away. Another guy placed is order after me and meanwhile i was reading the board and noticed fries with egg on top so i go back up to the guy(literally 2 minutes after my order) and ask him how much it would be to add an egg on my fries. He says ok ill place an order, i said no ive already ordered. I tried explaining it again and he says oh ya ok we put eggs on fries… huh? finally after 5 minutes of trying to make him understand he gets it then he asks his cook how much extra to add an egg… cook says $ 6…say what? I ccould have ordered the fires with egg for $ 7 lol. Then my order comes and the lady is like you have a ticket? I tell her i dont have it and that no one else is in line except for me and another guy. She has the nerves to say i dont know if you ordered this, i said ask the guy who i paid —oh crap that guy didnt remember me before why would he remember me now! Finally i get my food. Food — i wont deny the sandwich was tasty but for $ 10 I got a 4 inch sandwich… somehow i dont see the value in that at all. The fries were undercooked and super salty. Wouldnt go back unless I was starving

Everyone always talks about the oxtail, but I must say that my food heart is committed to the one and only Sisig(with a fried egg on top of course!). I’ve gone back and forth between the Pork Adobe and Sisig, but in the end… Sisig wins with its slightly more powerful flavors and addicting pork skin sprinkled on top. I think there’s crack in their food. Once you start, you just can’t stop!!! Follow them on Facebook/Twitter to see where they’ll be next!

I tried the sisig fries and was not impressed. Expensive for small portions. The fried egg and aioli did nothing to complement the dish as a whole. Overrated

Some of the best looking cooks and owners you will see in a American Filipino Fusion food truck. Great food. I love the Oxtail stew, served over fries… I eat even though its bad for the gout. The Sisig over rice… Sisig, Fried Egg, Green Onions… legit!!! Great if you are looking for that twist of food creativity. Is it Filipino, French, American, Cajun, Armenian, who cares right!?! Its good.

72% Very good oxtail fries ***Short Review Came here for in lunch Oct ’12, right outside LACMA. The food served here is basically Filipino items like Sisig, Pork Adobo, Oxtail stew, served over fries, OR a beef sausafe hotdog for about $ 7 give or take. They also offered a burger for around $ 8 The oxtail fries were surprisingly good, and I think it’s more similar to poutine than say carne asada fries. It seemed to be more of a stew with a thicker gravy than chunks The meat was tender and tasty. The sauce used seemed to resemble the flavor of a more subtle peanut sauce. It was thicker and had a slight oily finish to it. The potato fries itself were not bad, not great. You also have the option of adding a fried egg for $ 1, which sounds like a good idea. Although the portion size was more modest, it was a richer dish. If you have a bigger appetite like myself, it might not be enough food for a meal. Value is okay, not bad not great. For $ 7 it’s not a bad meal for the quality of cooking, but the quantity is a bit modest. It would be nice if Discussion Truck would have offered a more hearty potion size for a slightly higher price, or maybe even a rice bowl alternative. The service seemed alright. The person at the counter was cordial and the food came out within 5 mins of ordering. There was no lines at all. Overall I’m still not a huge fan of the food truck dining environment, but that’s just my personal bias. Food truck or not, this was good food on budget(providing you don’t have a huge appetite) Detailed Review will go into the dish further. ***Detailed Review Oxtail Fries, $ 7. Dish Rating 74% Note that you have the option of either regular fries or sweet potato fries. I opted for regular fries. It’s served on a paper hot-dog container. The portion size isn’t huge and more Essentially the oxtail resembles a stew. Fresh cilantro and some sprinkled cheese(possibly Cotija) are sprinkled on top. I think this dish worked very well. It was tasty, comfortable, and hearty. The flavors were very balanced. You could taste the oxtail, while the peanut flavored gravy wasn’t too sweet or aggressive. It was difficult for me discern what ingredients were used in the sauce, but it was tasty and effective. The cheese lends itself some subtle saltiness to the flavor, without being too rich. I do wish there was a bit more fresh cilantro, but it’s not a big deal either. The fries were nicely seasoned. Although the sauce was rich, I didn’t feel it was overwhelmingly so. It was actually a bit lighter than a regular ‘poutine’, a dish I typically enjoy a lot. The sauce had a slight oily finish, which also wasn’t overdone. I haven’t tried this preparation style of oxtail before, so I’m not sure what else to compare it with. My guess is that it would also work great over a bowl of rice. The fries never became soggy and retained fairly crisp. Serving temperature was pleasantly warm throughout. I think it’s best to eat this dish right on the spot for these reasons. Recommended. Having visited a couple food trucks around LACMA, I wouldn’t hesitate to call this the best dish I’ve tried there so far. I highly suggest bringing a good beer along as well.

ERHMAHGERD… I LUPDISBILABINOTRUCK! Ok seriously though? De-fucking-licious. I never had sisig… or if I had it, I didnt know what it was. But I kept hearing about it, so I decided why not? Lets add this to my food truck obsession. I ordered the Sisig over rice… Sisig, Fried Egg, Green Onions… amazeballs. When they gave me the little clear box, I was kinda sad that it was so small. But when I got back to my office and opened it up, apparently they packed that shit! So there’s a lot more food than you think there is… This truck is also known for their sisig over hot dogs… idk how I feel about that. But maybe next time…

Let’s have a few discussions! The first is about one of my new fave food trucks, The Discussion Truck! The second is about one of my new fave hot dogs, The Sisig Dog! The Discussion Truck is a truck whose menu features classic American fare with a Filipino twist. They have about four different types of dogs and three types of fries. They also have specials. Even though their menu seems small, what they do offer is complex and creative. On my first visit this is what I ordered; Sisig Dog– Beef dog topped w/sisig, roasted garlic aioli, pork cracklings, fried egg, pickled shallots and a Chicago style bun Pork Adobo Fries– Fries topped w/pork adobo, garlic creama, green onions, pork cracklings & Sriracha This was my first experience with Sisig. For those of you who don’t know, Sisig is a blend of pork meats(belly, snout, ear, etc) seasoned with garlic, onion, calamansi, red pepper, and many more spices. Their Sisig dog was exceptional. Hands down one of my all time favorite dogs. The Sisig was so flavorful. It was spicy, salty, tangy, crispy, fatty and delicious. I could have eaten bowls of that stuff. All of the ingredients on this dog worked so well together. It had so many complex layers of intense flavors. And the buttery, grilled Chicago bun that housed these phenomenal ingredients was one of my favorite buns EVER! I’m getting all worked up just thinking about this dog. The pork adobo fries were also a home run. I loved how the pork had a vinegary flavor. It went so well with the salty cracklings and the creamy garlic creama. Just like the dog, these fries had so many layers of incredible flavors. I just wish I would have added a fried egg to these fries. I’m kicking myself for forgetting to add it. The prices on this truck were great. I paid about $ 14 for my meal, which wasn’t bad at all seeing how big their portions were and how marvelous their food was. The people who were running the truck were all extremely friendly and helpful. As of this writing, The Discussion Truck only has 15 reviews with an overall 5 star rating. In all honesty, I doubt that high rating ever goes down. The food is so good that even though their bound to get many more reviews, I know they’ll blow Unilocaler’s minds with their delicious and creative grub. I only drive out of my way for two food trucks… well, now three, because The Discussion Truck has made my illustrious list of trucks I’ll chase down even when there miles and miles out of my way. Discussion Truck, you guys ROCK!

Happened upon the Discussion Truck while visiting LACMA. I could be wrong, but I believe it’s at LACMA pretty regularly around lunchtime. Their oxtail fries are SO. FREAKIN. DELICIOUS. I also got to try my friend’s sisig hotdog(with egg!) and it was a revelation. Fries and hotdogs! Such a good way to showcase Filipino flavors. And they have Sarsi in the glass bottles! Heaven, pretty much. Also love the design and typography of the truck. Good concept, great delivery. The Discussion Truck just makes me so happy.

The Discussion Truck was by my house one day! I am Filipino but I am not very Filipino with my tastebuds… but when I encountered this place I thought I would be adventurous and try something I have never tried before… Sisig! I got the Sisig Fries and a Sarsi bottle. Sisig is basically pig liver and head fried with spicy and lemony flavors(which is from the calamansi, which is basically like the Filipino lime). It comes on top of fries, pork cracklings(chiccharon) some sort of creamy sauce, and a fried egg. All together, it was very good. A good blend of flavors where the sour is dominant, as sisig should be. It is of a small portion(not like what you would expect from carne asada fries)… where the fries are put in like a container for a hot dog. For $ 7, I think it is expensive but good to try. As for sarsi, it is the Filipino version of root beer… but not as sweet. To me, Sarsi is really like Coca Cola and Root beer mixed together. They offer other meats like adobo, longanisa and oxtail. and they serve it as either fries or a hot dog. Like other food trucks, they serve drinks as well but what is nice is that offer filipino drinks, like the Sarsi. Yes, small portions and little bit expensive… this truck to me is a 4 star mainly because of the original approach to Filipino food they have(doing hot dogs and fries instead of the burrito/taco approach), which happens to be very delicious!

I love that more places are coming out to showcase Filipino cuisine… not because I’m Filipino, but bc Filipino food is so delicious and it’s never given a chance since places like Pinoy Pinay and even Red Ribbon seem to only cater to their Filipino customers. Discussion truck is a great way for people to try out some key dishes with the safety net of classic french fries and hot dogs! They definitely know how to cook their stuff though. i’m tempted to bring some rice with me so I can enjoy some well cooked Kare Kare(oxtail) while i’m away from home! Best oxtail i’ve had other than my dad’s of course!

I was a little skeptical to try a Filipino-fusion dish, due to the fact that nothing beats my momma’s cooking! However, this place was DELICIOUS. I had the SISIGFRIES and it’s was very good! You can choose between regular fries and sweet potato fries. I chose regular. Then it’s topped with sisig, chicharron(dried pork crackings), pickles shallots, roasted garlic sauce, and topped with a fried egg. It’s by far the best food truck meal I’ve had thus far. I may be a little biased because I’m Filipino, but I truly believe that everyone should give this truck a try. Also, many people are unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine, so on the truck there are definitions of traditional dishes! That was definitely a smart move for the designers of the truck.

The Discussion Truck is the TRUTH!!! Real talk son!!! I was lucky enough to sample their ox tail hot dog(all beef hot dog topped with ox tail, cilantro, and cotija cheese) at an event and I was instantly hooked! I found them via Twitter and caught up to them literally a few days later because a sample of that puppy just wasn’t enough! Granted $ 7 for a hot dog is a little steep in my book but this is no ordinary dog. This puppy is slammin’!!! They also offer other dogs such as a chicken adobo dog and a sig sig dog. Although I haven’t tried anything other than the Ox Tail Dog as of yet. But I will find the Discussion Truck on the streets of L.A. again real soon as that ox tail dog is one of the tastiest hot dogs that’s ever crossed my palate. End of Discussion!!!(for now…)

I had my fair share of Filipino-fusion trucks in the past three years. And though I am will be a supporter of pushing Filipino cuisine in the mainstream, I often pull away as I realize that the experimental dishes often lack balance. Ok, not to sound contrived… What I am saying is often time, the food is interpreted in a way that slightly resemble a Filipino taste or it is just too dang much– too salty, too greasey, too oily. Discussion Truck serves food that is balanced! And super yummy! I have had their adobo fries– pork adobo over crisp fries, served with a garlic sauce, a fried egg and pork cracklings… Creamey yolk over vinegary sweet pork over crispy but not greasy fries with cracklings for added crunch. Do you get what I am saying? So good! I manage to get some coworkers to try it as well. Newfound fans! Now they have ask if Discussion Truck is near our office because the sisig fries and the oxtail hot dog was a hit for them =) Overall, I highly recommend this truck!

I told the guys behind Discussion Truck that I’m not a fan of most Filipino food trucks for two reasons:(1) lack of concept and understanding of traditional Filipino food, and(2) poorly executed food. I hate when sisig is the selling point for a food truck and it’s done poorly. Well, The Discussion Truck shut me up and had me stuffing my face. The sisig fries are legit! The sisig is done right, wining over my traditionalist heart. The pork cracklings, fried egg, thinly sliced pickled scallions, and roasted garlic aioli all work together harmoniously. It all makes sense and tastes delicious. I’m sold.

Screw your diet and whatever preconceive expectations you have for hot dogs. Discussion Truck has given the American standards a Filipino twist… and it has garlic aioli on it. Sisig fries w/regular fries– BOOOOOMB. So much flavor and everything melds together really well. Crisp fries & generous heap of flavorful sisig with all the right toppings. I can’t get enough of this. Longanisa hot dog– Who the heck thought salted egg, a sausage, and Boston-style bun would be SO amazing together. There’s a good balance of rich, buttery bread and freshness from the pickled veggies. I compare this to a Filipino version of banh mi because it has the bread + meat + vegetable components. Very unique, very delicious. Oxtail fries w/sweet potato fries– Crazy delicious combo! You have the richness & slight saltiness from the oxtail meat, then the crispy sweet potato fries. Top that with queso, cilantro, garlic aioli, & some sriracha… yeaaaah buddy! Hands down, my favorite thing to get at the Discussion Truck. I can’t wait to grub here again next time I’m in LA.

The adobo fries are my favorite. Fresh golden skinny fries are topped with perfectly seasoned adobo and garnished with garlic crema sauce and green onions. My other favorite is their oxtail hotdog. The beef hotdog is topped with a super tender braised oxtail. Also, the bun they use is really soft, but buttered to a crisp on the outside. Yum.

Hands down best food truck experience I’ve had in a WHILE! Pork Adobe Hot Dog: Beef hot dog topped with the perfect amount of pork adobe. On top of the pork adobe was crumbled chicharon, green onions and the best garlic crema I’ve ever tasted. Served on a delicious Boston style bun, it was definitely a home run for me. Sisig Fries(Regular): Golden brown skinny fries topped with a GENEROUS amount of Sisig, pickled shallots, and crumbled chicharon. An enticing fried egg finalized this savory meal and the garlic aioli sauce was like the icing on the cake! My wife always says that you eat with your eyes first. And i can honestly say i fell in love with Discussion Truck as soon as i saw my order. After the first bite, i knew they had me hook, line and sinker. I can’t wait to go back next week to try their Longanisa hot dog and Oxtail Fries. Compliments to the chef and the hard working crew @ the Discussion Truck!

Let me just tell you that they do NOT claim to be a health concious establisment. Having said that it amzes me that not as many Filipinos are on the heavy side considering the stuff we use in our food, or should I say, poods. Had the Oxtail dog today, which conaisted of a beef hot dog with braised oxtail, seasoned perfectly with the right amount of ingredients. Mmmmmmm, Did I mention that this truck does NOT claim to be for the health concious? For the fellow Pinoy reading this they also have a Sisig Dog as well, which I will get around to eventually. For the rest of you that may be wondering what sisig is, well, i’ll let you ask any Filipino friends you may have.
